Villa have been pretty awful. I don’t think Grealish has been that good since the season restarted either and if he isn’t doing the business then their attack is going to be very blunt. He’ll be the obvious threat and be marked out of the game accordingly.

I forsee the problem being us scoring past them. I don’t think we‘ll lose but the likelier bad event happening is being held to a 0-0.

This is a 1245 am start and I can't wait for kick-off. It feels surreal to look forward to watching United.

This game must prove this ubeaten run is a serious one and we're not a typical post Fergie United anymore or are on a way not to be one anymore. You know the one which would typically lose this kind of game, away game against a struggling team.

I fear this game a bit, hopefully an early goal will settle the nerves of all of us. :)

I think we're all a little nervous, five years of false dawns under multiple managers have seen to that.

Considering Bruno is the new Scholes, i'm expecting an absolute thunderbolt into the top corner today.

Yeah, I'm not feeling as confident as I should for this game.

Villa are fighting for their premiership survival still, they'll win a game at some point and just feel it's typical it would be against us.

That said, 6-0 to us. Martial hattrick. Pogba screamer, Fernandes FK and a rashford curler.

Ddg scores too but VAR rules it out because of the wind.

I'm a bit nervous as the importance of this game alone is up there, but I'm also looking forward to seeing all of our players again. We have played some great stuff and I'm actually entertained by watching us play football. Having said that, I'll happily take a 0-1 shitshow tonight.

This one is a bit different - with the odd exception, Villa's league results have been close, winning or losing by the odd goal. Leicester seem to have their number. Good news - they don't do draws very often (although 2 out of 6 have been since the restart), they've conceded nearly as many in the league as Bournemouth, their form since the restart has been poor and, although they have 4 or 5 decent players, their bench is weak.

Going by the form book, we should nick this one 2-1 or 2-0 if our defence has a good day. From their point of view, nothing but a win will do if they want to stay up. The rest of their matches are not easy and in theory they could end up fighting it out with West Ham on the final day, so do they go for broke or defend deep and rely on counter attacks - you would guess the latter.

As far as our squad goes, my guess now is Ole will still play the same team as the last two matches if he can, maybe the odd player rested with Scott, Fred or, less likely, Brandon, coming in and maybe Eric if Victor really has a niggle with his back (and then you would think he definitely needs Luke). At some point, some key players will need a rest, and I thought we would have seen more rotation by now, but with Leicester slipping up and Chelsea looking the opposite, I'm guessing he won't take too many risks yet. Going to be a difficult balance to use the squad and avoid wearing out some players, this one is a game where we're less likely to be able to rest players after 60 minutes - subs may be more tactical.

With a run of 17 without loss, you can see why some people are nervous - it's going to end at some point. Don't think this will be the one, though.

Looking forward to this. Our final few games provide a great chance of making top four; let's hope we get a performance like we saw against Brighton and Bournemouth. I think it's the case we've taken more points at Villa Park than any other away ground in the Premier League era; our record there is superb. They are fighting to stay up, so we'll need to be ready to match their effort, but we should have too much quality, plus we are playing with confidence, with a long unbeaten run.

I'm sure the team will be as close as possible to the last two games; those players deserve to keep being picked.

Ole really has bought the fizz back into supporting this team .... excited already and counting down the hours!

I think there will be some changes today but cant decide over Lindelof/Bailly, 2 from Shaw/AWB/Williams and 1 from Matic/Fred/Mctominay

I think it's because everyone - me included - feels this run is too good to be true and are just dreading us dropping back down to Earth.

Are we allowed to have nice things?
Yeah that's me, the last seven years have me too wary  genuinely think the squad hasn't looked this good since.... we had Ronaldo? We're very young and hungry, next few years are looking promising

Any news on Lindelof for today?

I hope not. Even if we win today it's still just 6 points clear with 4 games left. We need to start our best against Southampton to win and wrap this up. Wolves face Everton and I see them dropping points which would end the top 4 battle
But heres no point in resting players for our next game at least? Hell even the game after that is 3 games away. Thats like playing Sat then Tue in CL.
I go the other way, I think we rotate for the FA cup.
I don't think that Matic can play four games in nine days. I'm not sure that it's desirable for both fullbacks and our front three to play that many games, either.

I do expect Maguire, Pogba and Fernandes to start all of them, though.

Matic aside, they should be fine, as they've had several months break. Bring in McTominay for Matic perhaps, but keep the team as stable as possible, IMO, particularly for away games. Home games are a better opportunity to rotate more.

The fact that I can’t wait to watch these lads play every week says volumes about Ole.

    Not a chance.
Villa have put up spirited performances since the restart. Can't see why this will be different.
They've scored 2 goals in 5 games. They can be as spirited as they like, but they've got not bite.

    Jack Russells

In contrast, we're dispatching teams by 60mins then resting players.

This is definetly one game where we can be very confident of 3 points.

As long as we stop making individual errors in the the defence I just can't see them having a sniff at goal - sod's law that Bailly starts, gets a straight red and then they win 1-0 from a peno.

Yes, they are fighting for their lives and do have ability. However, we have a brilliant record at Villa Park and should have too much quality, if we perform to standard. I'm feeling confident about this game.
