I can't say I watch him and get enthused, but there's certainly a need in the squad for a left-footed winger who can dribble and score. Even going forward:

Rashford (James)----------Martial(Greenwood)---------------RW(Chong)

and maybe a loan/veteran 9 like Ighalo or a similar type.

Point is, he should have some opportunities really don't think he'll get a loan, think he'll compete with Greenwood ot be the backup RW with James around too.

The only thing holding him back at present is he needs to be stronger on the ball and that will come

His assist was very good, cut back onto his left and played a nicely weighted ball, sure he had a couple of rash moments before that but the assist will give him a confidence boost.

This.

Once he gets past that threshold I expect him to go up a few gears and start beating oppononents regularly. For me he's naturally more talented than Daniel James and will eventually overtake him. Chong has playmaking qualities too so it was no surprise he weighted the pass to Mason perfectedly.

Really hope next season we can find a team in the championship to take a few of our players like derby did with Chelsea.

Chong, Garner and Levitt on loan to the same side would be great.

I havent been overly impressed when i've seen Chong for our first team, but happy to put trust in Ole etc who have given him a new contract.

I dont think a loan would be the best move for Chong, i think he will learn and develop more by picking up minutes alongside the likes of rashford/martial/fernandes/pogba now. We are looking fluid and have plenty of goals in us right now, he could pick up minutes and confidence. He could certainly challenge James for his minutes.

I for the life of me don't see it with this kid, but obviously Ole and co see something in him.

Hope he's mentally and physically ready for an absolute graft of a season on loan, possibly in the Championship.

Losing to Comeback Winning!
His best position is LW and it's good to have a natural left footed left winger.

I'm impress with him when he's attacking from the left, but seriously he have no idea how to play RW in professional level.
His best weapons are his dribbles, skills and agility. It's not exceptional but it can get the job done. He's also gutsy and mobile, always moving when on and off the ball.

Idk, I just can't see a future with him here.
Best chance is to compete vs James for a limited squad role since they are at their best and not useless at LW. James at least can at few times do something good from RW, and have good defensive workrate so tactical flexibility if need a wing-back. Chong is too limited.

I doubt he'll get many minutes next season if we're seriously challenging for titles. Even James now is finding it hard to get games. It's also likely we'll be bringing in another winger who will push James down the pecking order. Rash, Mart and Green are also ahead and they are rarely injured, Rashford especially have good fitness. Too many players in front of him.

Loan is the best way for him to improve.

He played on the right against Tranmere and tore them to shreds. Last I checked they are a professional team.

Who? and when?
*Googled* Ah, that forgettable walk-in-the-park game.

Are you sure he's playing on the right? Isn't he playing a more central and left winger roles in that game? He created havoc to their defenses from there. Dalot is the one hogging the right each time Greenwood move centre.

I'm sure you get my point, there are different levels in professional level of football. We're not going to play clubs like Tranmere (no offense) many times per season.

I’m talking about the EFL trophy where he scored 2 goals.

No I don’t get your point of claiming he can’t play professional level on the right when he’s already done so.

Tbf his performances have been a continuous demonstration of him not being good enough, and likely not becoming good enough, for us.

We extended his contract. So, if he is not good enough - let’s sell him, funds are needed anyway.

Didn't all the youth/u23 foreign players return home and have been there since? I recall reading something like it. It would seem odd that he signed on yet hasn't figured at all.

EDIT: Just seen something about the probability of him going on loan. Don't get it

He isn’t a youth or u23s player. He’s in the first team and been training with the first since the restart.

He doesn’t get to play much and his agent has said he’ll likely go on loan to get game time. What don’t you get?

There are reliable Information in our German Forum, that he was in Bremen yesterday.

Would be just a loan, i Think. Rashica will leave surely this Transfer Window, so we are searching for Players in this Position.

Not Sure, how close it is or if there are other players in the mix too.

Okay, wow. I am writing this and now the first German Sources are writing about this.

This would be a excellent loan move potentially playing in a major European League.

Until he makes 4 appearances all season and spends the majority of it on the bench. Januzaj was a much better player at that age and only made 3 starts in 6 months at Dortmund.
Dortmund are a better team so it’s not a surprise he didn’t get much game time. LVG even told him this at the time.

Might just be me but he looks better playing on the left. He plays a bit like a lesser version of Sane there and it isn't just cause of the hair

I think we need a left footed attacker for the left side as an occasional option. He needs way more games than he is going to get here next season though and Greenwood can go over to the left if needs be. A carefully selected Loan where he will play lots seems like the best option. A year or so ago he was looking electric in the U23s. He’s still definitely a very interesting prospect. I’d be sticking him on the bench of my fantasy team if I played the German version.

Hope this loan will help him develop further as he's a talented player but needs gametime. Hopefully he will get that in Germany instead of sitting on the bench all season.

He's got to start delivering now if he wants to have a career at the top level. Not expecting a 20 G+A season but at least some reasonable stats to back his potential.

What would You say are his best Attributes and where he needs improve?

Is he a Clear winger or could You Imagine he could play more central as a variable Striker Next to a real Striker?

Rashica played often more central Next to a Striker and had overall 2 good seasons. So these are some footprints to fill and i am Not Sure he will be the only Signing for this Position.

Today an older player (Bartels) left and he played in this Position too. So maybe he will hear something soon.

Under a tree.
Surprised he hasn't joined a championship or lower PL team, these European loans always tend to end in the player being sold than rather coming back and fighting for a place

Haven't seen much of him, can he improve us in the short term? I'd rather pass if we need two seasons to develop him only to leave afterwards.

With Rashica leaving there isnt much competition for Chong for a starting position.

But this Werder side will see a massive rebuild this summer and most likely fighting against relegation again so he might experience quite some pressure since this team is lacking creativity and I cant see the defense improving much to bail them out. If he do perform similar to Gnabry 3 seasons ago at Bremen it should be a win win for all parties involved.

Quality today. Hope that we see more of him in that LB spot, he looked far better than in any other games before.

A very bright cameo tonight. Chong has never impressed me at senior level before now. Tonight he looked like there might actually be something to him though.
