What is this mysterious 'disappearance’ from the match day squad ' that's (thankfully ) ruled him out of the last 4 PL match day squads ? There's been very little information released regarding it - and usually long term disappearing acts need some form of transfer.

Personally I don't think it exists and it's purely a stalling tactic so we can make him leave. The whole situation shares a lot of similarities with the Cleverley exit. It's clear we don’t want him to be here, his agent is always mouthing off and I dont think we should have ever given him a new contract

I think he's a goner come the summer.

Cold shoulder treatment telling him he’s not wanted, to ensure he doesn’t stink the place out by staying because of his contract.

Ole really is an assassin, but does so with a smile.

simply frozen out, just like Jones. Make no mistake, Ole has demonstrated quite a bit of ruthlessness when it comes to forcing out the deadwood and I absolutely love it.

Yes. Thank you for the Fa Cup goal, but ultimately went through a purple patch that didn't last very long. Always got a soft spot for academy graduates, but unfortunately he never stayed or possibly never reached an acceptable level for a club with out aspirations.

Have no idea who would take him though with his wages, Arsenal Maybe?

whether he goes depends on whether there are any takers for him. I hope he finds a new club for his and the club's benefit.

No need for him. On any given matchday we have Ighalo/James/Mata to come on and change things going forward if needed. (Even Fred/McTominay could be included here). No real need for a player who was in awful form for so long to be an option ahead of those.

Plus I reckon Ole made the call a while back that he isnt part of his long term goals for whatever reason.

He's got less than a year on his contract and we haven't heard anything about a contract renewal. Apparent his time is up and will be tried to be moved on during this upcoming transfer window to help free up wages for a couple of new players. He'll be heading towards a Bosman transfer situation in 5 months time if he isn't transferred.

Thought he could carry on with a good baseline with the occasional impact performance after the 2018 World Cup where he was one of the more consistent and better performing players in the England squad, but since then, the last 12 to 18 months he's been quite poor and just too ineffective for what was asked of him. With that in mind and coupled with his wages, he has to be off.

I doubt we'll ever see him in our shirt again to be honest. Next cup games are tough and we'll need to play with our starters. He's done here.

Replaced by a Portuguese magnifico. So much for Ole being slammed with “brexit fc” nonsense.

He’s very lucky he was at the club when we were a 4th or 5th position PL team.

Had we been consistently no3 or above He wouldn’t have gotten a sniff into the first XI.

I’m not that hopeful for his future. Can’t see him finding a CL team in any of the top leagues.

Lingard seems like a great guy, just not a great footballer. Wish him well if/when he moves.

He’ll be captain against LASK as his farewell gig, which has an appropriate level of irony about it.

1 year. 365 days. 52 weeks.

Without a goal or assist as an attacking midfielder. Unheard of.

Add to that all his nonsense with social media and his on 'JLingz' brand. Can't wait to see him gone. He sums up everything that been wrong at the club for a long time.

It’s time for Lingard to move on, I’ve been a fan. I like what he gives the team when he’s on form, but it’s not enough. Some great moments, the great goal vs Palace and vs Leicester in the charity shield. I’ll wish him well when he goes.

I think he's gone, best for everyone now. His body language was horrific when he last played. No need to get nasty, he's just not enough to play for United.

Not so long ago Matic was being frozen out, apparently, not starting, not even in the match-day squads, and look at him now.

A new 3 year contract and one of the first names on the team-sheet.
Matic was player of the year of title winning Chelsea team. He was great when he came to us. People who know football would say that he is a classy player. What happened to Matic was lack of form. With Jlingz, there is a problem, he doesn't have talent. He is just a hard-working player who would perfectly at the level of Southampton or West Ham.

My mates a West Ham fan and he said he'd rather get relegated than sign Lingard & Jones from us. I believe him.

No surprise that he's not in the squad. Everyone is healthy. Where the real cold shoulder will come is if someone gets injured and a player other than Lingard is introduced to the bench...

He doesn't have talent but you think he's good enough for two Premier League sides, interesting, no seriously ....

Yes, I would say that because he is a hard-working player who would fit in a hard working side. If you have talent with hard-work, you are mint and clearly a top 4 side player

He's been bad for a long time, his disappearance isn't mysterious.

He will sign a new contract soon. He is an acadamy player, big influence in the dressing room, also remember he was one of the first names in the England line up not too long ago. Good squadie

Surely we'll ask Inter if they want another!

He is dropped. He changed his agent, he barely makes the match day squad. IMO it's easy to join the dots there. He has no future here, he might play few mins in cup games but won't be here next season.

If Ole was more ruthless then he would have done it earlier in the season.

Why is this even a surprise? We should just move on and not worry about him at all. He isn't needed anymore. The lad has had enough chances to show what he can deliver but has failed to impress. His level is much lower and that's where he should be plying his trade. Nothing to be ashamed of though as not all players can play at the highest levels of the sport.

Ole gave Lingard 36 games to prove himself this season. Ole is actually not this cold blooded assassin.

It's simple. He has been frozen out because we have better players. Hope to see Lingard Jones Rojo and Sanchez shown the door in the summer
