Jose Mourinho | Spurs manager

At every club he's been at since 2002, Mourinho has won trophies. Will he win one at Spurs?

Arsenal just don't believe they can beat a Mourinho team can they? Spurs haven't even been any good today.

He is so negative, it’s ridiculous. They will probably leak a late goal in this match too, and deservedly so.

I stood by him at United and in hindsight I just shouldn’t have.
Second I posted this they started playing well

Victory but with the talent on the pitch they have to be doing better. Their ball retention is utter w*nk.

Spurs kinda looked like what a good José team should look like for the final quarter – obdurate defensively and menacing on the counter. He showed the odd glimpse of that at United, but I’m not convinced it’s a style that will get you results consistently over a long season. His football style just hasn’t really evolved in the slightest.

Doing what he did with United in his first two seasons - every time he goes on a long string of drab performances and it looks like the fans will turn, he pulls out a sort of okayish performance against another big team that keeps opinion on him divided for a little bit longer.

They've been close many times as Wenger would say. ;)

That victory will probably do more harm to Jose/Spurs though in the long run. His team were awful.

Very negative manager. Spurs are good enough to run Arsenal into the ground.

I want Arsenal, Spurs and City to miss European football next year. Would be a very interesting summer for all 3 clubs in terms of who they can sign and who they miss out on.

City will evade the ban, although it would be great to see a meltdown there, there's no way they are getting banned from Europe for 2 years.

Happy to see them win, it was getting too negative on their end, don't want fans revolting and asking for his head so soon. We need another season of him in charge to fully write off Spurs for years to come, not enough long-term damage has been done yet.

I agree with you but if it was UEFA was serious about sending a message about FFP this is their chance. It’s not like they are looking to ban Barca or Madrid. THAT would never happen. I have a 5% hope that they will ban City.

I really hope he gets Levy’s trust to spend big on players like Willian, Skriniar, Lukaku and Perisic.

You are at stage 3 of Joseism

No idea what Jose is trying to do with that midfield of Spurs. Two technicians and Sissoko? You want technician style players in possession based play. Not when you are without the ball for long periods. Neither of them have a big physical presence, so winning the ball back or really taking control of that midfield is just not happening. On top of this I don't think either of them is safe as part of a two in midfield, so if you play them it has to be a part of a three.

To be honest, the team selection was allright today. But that's about it, there was still no urgency with the ball, no fluidity, no shape when attacking, no control of midfield, basically just hoping for Arsenal to shoot themselves in the foot.

How? He said he watched every game of his for Benfica and knew he'd be a good signing.
Never got the impression he was that into him when he arrived though.

By the end of his first season here Mourinho was going with Smalling and Jones as the first choice and then he wanted Maguire the following season.

Only signing Mourinho made that was a total success here was Zlatan I'd say.

Are Pogba, Lindelof, Matic suddenly not his signings now?
Sanchez is also his signing. The worst in United history . And my impression is that his signings are very hit and miss. And it shouldnt be especially with the large fee’s and big contracts for the players he wants.

Mourinho never seems to rate youth anymore either. Very stubborn in his approach. And we all know if Mou got his Will we would be stuck with very avarage players like Sanchez, Perisic, Lukaku, Dier and so on.

Mou didnt rate the virus nor Lindelof. The latter only had 13 PL starts during Mou’s full 18/19 season here aswell.

He was having a go at our scout against West Ham when he played Lindelof by praising West Ham scout for finding the better defender (according to him) Issa Diop. Clearly he wasn't happy with the club's scout for recommended him Lindelof. Even this season he was talking about Lindelof being poor in the air, if he knows the player is poor in the air why signing him and sold Blind.

They looked decent today against Newcastle. Has been a couple of good results for them recently
