I am huge FA cup fan but top 4 is so important for the trajectory of this team. I'd go:

    Romero

    Dalot
    Jones (healthy?)
    Bailly
    TFM

    Fred
    McT
    Lingard

    James
    Ighalo
    Mata

What the feck is that. Our ‘fans’ need to give their heads a wobble. We’ve become Arsenal officially now 100%. FA Cup semi final against Chelsea for feck sake.

Sorry, not Arsenal. In any way. I want to win the facking Champions League again. The best chance for that is for this team to make it there and get the right players in.

We can make it there without having to play Lingard, Ighalo, Mata and James all at once against Chelsea mate.

If it's 0-0,0-1 at 70 mins get the likes of Bruno, Pogba, Martial, Rashford and Matic on.

I think our line-up for this may be influenced a little by what happens in the other semi final too.

Some of our players look physically and emotionally out on their feet.
FA cup is great to win but if we win it and don't make the CL it will be armageddon among our fans. Ole has every right to rest a few on Sunday. If we lose so be it. There's no saying we'd definitely win the final anyway.
I'd definitely rest Bruno, Martial n Rashford. Can't afford to miss those in last 2 league games. I'd play Pogba though as he's barely played all season. He should be okay to keep going.
100% - Bruno, Pogba, AWB and Greenwood looked like zombies at times.
We'd certainly be underdogs in a final vs an FFP resurgent City team playing for their future contracts.

Agree with this line-up, though I'd give Greenwood another run-out. He's still young and I don't think he'll have an issue getting another start under his belt. Lingard is as useful as a nun's tits.
His looks a little tired. Maybe his swollen ankle during the week didn’t help. He could use a few days break.

Are you expecting a full-strength Chelsea lineup?
Our first xi changes a lot more than yours does recently so difficult to say what our full strength "first xi" even is.

Perhaps Willian & Pulisic need a rest. Maybe Azpi.

I'd expect CHO (needs a game) and Kante (coming back from injury) to start.id be amazed if we see any players getting debuts, perhaps Lewis Bate from the bench.

    --------------Romero
    Dalot--Bailly--Bernard--Tim
    ----McTominay--Fred
    Mata----Lingard---James
    ------------Ighalo

Bench: Grant, Periera, Laird, Chong, Garner, Mengi, Levitt

Need the starters rested for the last 2 games, Top 4 has to be priority.. FA Cup isn't our last chance for silverware this season.
Yeah, I'd go with something like this, but with a stronger bench so that we can chase the game with subs if needed.

Arsenal have won the FA cup more than anybody else in the past decade while generally being a bit shit and continuing to decline. Prioritising other competitions would be the exact opposite of Arsenal.

We only did 2 subs against palace. didn’t do any keeping in next match in mind. So it seems obvious that we will rotate heavily in fa cup.

We have bigger fish to fry. The difference is more than 75m+. We can’t feck it up in last 2 matches.

I can see your point of view. We didn’t sub any players in preparation for this match. So our second XI is most likely.

Arsenal won the FA Cup like four times in the last decade so probably not the best example. A lot of good it did them, too.

Playing our best players in a potentially 120 minutes long game two days after a gruelling and physical game against Palace, with another battle coming up on Wednesday, would be madness. Chelsea have two extra days of rest, they'll be fresher, they might well beat even the first XI.

It's just such an unnecessary risk for the cup that couldn't save Van Gaal from getting sacked the next day.

Playing our best 11 would be a huge mistake. Unfortunately, the prospect of CL football means much more. Besides, I doubt Chelsea will play their first 11.

I hope we rest the likes of Maguire, AWB, bruno, Pogba, rashford, matic and martial. Well, not reast exactly but have them on the bench.

Fred and Mctominay are a very capable midfield duo and have good chemistry from playing together. Would play Mata in front of them in a no. 10 role.

Ighalo certainly deserves a game and has been good for us in the cups. Would also like to see James on the left, as I feel he is much better playing there.

Has Ole said anything about it already?

Definitely rest players but not to many of them. It's the FA cup semifinal after all.

Are you kidding me, it's an FA Cup semifinal. We should go with the starting 11.
This cup has no value. We should be resting players and focus on CL qualification instead

Leicester play on Sunday then have a full week to prepare for our game with them

Think Chelsea will rotate also with an eye on Liverpool game.

The CL spot has to take priority- time to rotate

I'd like to see gametime for Romero, Bailly, Dalot, Williams, Mata, Fred, Pereira, Lingard, James and Ighalo

    ----------------------Romero--------------------
    Dalot----Bailly-----Maguire--Williams
    --------------Fred------McTominay---------
    ---------------------Mata-------------------------
    Lingard-----------Ighalo-----------James

try and keep it tight and we can introduce Bruno/Rashford/Pogba/Martial for the closing stages

I think people are thinking too much about 'rest'. The players will only be light training during this time and the matches will be the higher intensity stuff. I think make a few changes, i'd leave Pogba out for example as he does look tired (He's still only a month returned from a 6-7 month layoff?).

But Rashford looks fine, Martial looks fine. Greenwood I think is carrying a knock, so i'd go with Lingard or James over him. AWB looks tired too so i'd go TFM with Williams on the other side. I'd bring Fred in for Matic too. Matic is so pivotal and he was one who was starting to look jaded with the quick turnaround of games.

It doesn't need huge rotation I don't think. The majority of our players look fine.

    Romero
TFM Bailly Maguire Shaw/Williams if fit
    Fred Matic Pogba
    James Ighalo Rashford

Think both teams will rotate for this considering proximity and importance of the league games games. Regular starters to be subbed off depending on how the game is going.

No it wouldn’t. They obsessed over top 4 for nearly a decade when they should have tried to win something even if they finished 5th. The fact they started winning cups and dropping out the top 4 top means they’re a perfect example as Arsenal fans will 100% take 2016/17 over all those years they finished 4th and won nothing.

Dreadful comments about resting the whole team. It's a semi final. The time to throw this cup if at all as ages back.

A few strong changes like Romero, Fred and Ighalo by all means but not wholesale changes for me.

Ii think ole will go for full strength, its a Fa cup semi final at Wembley. There are only 2 league games left. Both are crucial but this game is too. I really dont see major changes - if any

I forsee no more than 5 changes from tonights team . Chelsea with the extra days to prepare will play their first choice team.
Chelsea also have one extra day to prepare before the next round of PL matches after the FA cup. They might play a stronger side than United.

Well, they were a better team for most of that period than ever since.

And anyway, just because they gave up competing for the biggest prizes doesn't mean we should. Sure, if I have to choose between finishing 4th every year but never winning anything, I'd rather we missed out on the CL sometimes but won stuff. But that shouldn't be the choice - we should actually compete for the major trophies.

I would be very selective of who to rest in this. Probably bring in Ighalo and James for Martial & Greenwood. Matic out for Fred or McTom.

I'd be looking to at least give the 4 most obviously knackered first teamers a rest (Fernandes, Wan Bissaka, Matic, Rashford). I can't see Chelsea putting out their strongest side with a must win game against the scouse 3 days later, either.

    -----------------------Romero
    Dalot----Lindelöf---Maguire---Whoever's fit
    ----------------Fred--------McTominay

Possible we could return to a back 5 in this game, as it's served us well in the previous two against Chelsea. Might help us rest more players as well.

    My best guess:

    Romero

    Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Bailly, Williams

    Pogba, Bruno, Matic

    Rashford, Martial.

Fred might start for Bruno if Ole is erring on the side of caution resting players.

    Lindelof Maguire Bailly
    Dalot/Timo McT Fred Williams
    Lingard
    James Ighalo

I think we'll play this, similar to when we beat them in Carabao Cup. We'll try to defend, hit on counter & pace and if the score still 0-0 around 70th min, we'll bring the big guns.

    I’d play

    Romero
    AWB
    Baily
    Maguire
    Williams
    Fred
    Mctominay
    James
    Bruno
    Greenwood
    Ighalo

Bruno comes off regardless at the hour mark.
