I can't overstate how unfair this fixture arrangement is.

I think both teams will rest players, which speaks volumes about how far the FA cup has declined.

Lampard did rest some players vs Norwich. Mount, Christensen, Barkley, so they may feature here.

I don't think either team will bring wholesale changes though.

    Caballero
    Azpi Zouma Christensen Emerson
    Barkley Jorginho Mount
    CHO Abraham Willian

It will really suck if for the team that loses this game, if they also go on to lose out of top 4. Ouch. I hope it isn't us.

Rest Matic and Bruno, don’t think anyone else needs it. It’s an FA Cup Semi-Final for Christ sake.

    Romero
    AWB-Lindelof-Maguire-Williams
    Fred- McT- Pogba
    Greenwood-Martial-Rashford
Although cant see Bruno not starting.

    Romero
    Dalot Bailly Maguire Williams
    Fred McTominay
    Lingard
    Mata Ighalo James

If it's 0-0,0-1 at 70 mins get the likes of Bruno, Pogba, Martial, Rashford and Matic on.

I think our line-up for this may be influenced a little by what happens in the other semi final too.
In what way will the other game influence our line up?

AWB and Greenwood need resting. Ighalo is certain to start.

    Romero
    Wan-Bissaka - Lindelof - Maguire - Shaw/Williams*
    Fred - Pogba
    James - Lingard - Rashford
    Martial

    * = Whichever one is fit.
Greenwood should sit this one out, and I think Lingard looked alright when he came on last game. Plus he loves a goal at Wembley.

For some reason, I can imagine us playing a back three with Dan James as a wing back. I have no idea why as it isn't something we've done before as far as I'm aware, but if Williams & Shaw are out and we want to rest Wan-Bissaka, I think it is an option. Fosu-Mensah came in and I think he was honestly very average, but that was to be expected being his first full 90 minutes in a while - I'll be surprised if he is asked to start again three days later in a semi-final of all things.

    de Gea
    Bailly Lindelof Maguire
    James McTominay Fred Dalot
    Pogba
    Ighalo Rashford

I think Wan-Bissaka, Bruno and Matic are probably the players we most need to rest if that is something the team are considering. I would be confident of winning the final two Premier League fixtures if we can leave those three players out of this game and bring back Shaw at the same time as well. Also, ideally having the luxury of Martial/Greenwood/Rashford/Pogba not playing this whole match.

I really want us to win this and I think it will be a slightly stronger team than people think. Possibly stronger than the one I have listed there too. Eg. If Williams or Shaw are back they may well start. Bruno might just be asked to keep going, as could Greenwood etc. Matic may have been rested in the League for this game even, but I'm hopeful we just go with Fred & McTominay for high energy and then maybe try to bring on the likes of Mata/Lingard and one of our forwards if we need to create something later on in the match.

Chelsea will definitely not play a full strength side either IMO. They are going to have a harder time in their final two fixtures.

I think we're maybe tired but we didn't overexert ourselves either the last two games. So I think we'll see a good performance but we have to defend properly. We can't win either way. Unless we win all the games, people will always moan. But on the day, I think many will be happy seeing a strong team. At the end of the day, we don't have a crystal ball. We could play a weak team lose and still miss out on the CL. Thankfully we still have the EL but we just have to try our best.

I’d play Mctominay instead of Lingard and maybe Dalot at right back if Wan Bissaka is shattered.

Matic will start. He only played 30 mins against Palace. Wouldn't surprise me if we played a diamond with Fred and McTominay ahead of him.

I think we’ll see Ole revert to 3 at the back - 3-4-1-2. We’ll some rotation but I expect Ole to field a strong starting 11, it’s an FA cup semi final:

    De Gea

    Bailly Maguire Shaw

    AWB Pogba Fred Williams

    Bruno

    Martial Rashford

    OR

You can drop Bruno and start James, Martial and Rashford up top.

Chelsea are winning this i feel. Between their extra days off and the fact that we have beaten them a couple of times already this season.

Chelsea also have one extra day to prepare before the next round of PL matches after the FA cup. They might play a stronger side than United.
No both in Premier league action again on Wednesday. United 6pm and Chelsea 8:15.

Can we sign Romeu so he can assault their players all afternoon?

"Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is confident his Manchester United players will feel fresh and energised for Sunday’s Emirates FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium.
The boss made two changes to the starting XI on Thursday night as his Reds recorded an important 2-0 win over Crystal Palace, maintaining the hunt for a top-four finish in the Premier League.

There were unusually 102 minutes of match action following a serious injury to Patrick van Aanholt, which required lengthy medical attention, but Ole said he is not concerned about tiredness.
“We’ll be alright,”the boss told us, while discussing the trip home to Manchester.
“It is what it is and these boys they can recover. An occasion like the semi-final at Wembley will give anyone energy.”

Would back their second team over ours for sure.

i am giving this game about an 80% of seeing extra time, not sure how they are going to get through the west ham game without collapsing. lot of people want AWB to start, I think he's one of the player that looked completely gassed at the end of games recently.

    Romero
AWB - Lindelof - Bailly - TFM (Williams if ready)
    Fred- Matic - Pogba
    James - Ighalo - Rashford

This should be a good enough team to compete with them and even win it.

Why so many people put Romero in their squads? GKs don’t get as tired as outfield players, hence de Gea may easily play all remaining games of the season (Ok, no need vs LASK, but all the others).

Ya they were sitting around for a good 20 minutes of those 102 to be fair though.

Ole playing mind games by implying he's going to play a full-strength side?

Romero is a good goalkeeper who tends to play the cups... might stick with him.

Romero is good, but de Gea is better. Do we need to play a weaker player when the better one doesn’t actually need rest? If we are talking about outfield ones, of course it’s clear why rotation is needed at times

If West Ham win today they are safe, so it would be wise to rest players against them rather than this game.

We should be able to beat crappy West Ham with our team. Just fear Moyes will fire them up and Antonio will have the game of his life.

aside from de gea, we should rest our strongest out field team, the west ham game is the true cup final in my opinion, win that match and I think we will definitely get top 4 which is far more important in the bigger picture and we can still win the europa league cup anyway.
