He's been finished for 18 months now. Maybe Ole will change his mind after he costs us top 4.

Can't afford to be sentimental now, he has to be dropped. Its really sad to see but I feel hes peaked now. Gutting because I was hoping him signing a new contract would improve his form but hes just not good enough anymore.

From what I see, his reflexes are just not there anymore and he doesn't seem to deal with crosses much at all.

He never hangs his players out to dry, what he says to the press means nothing. We will see in our remaining games, and the upcoming window.
Exactly.

Some people clearly have an agenda, it wouldn't matter what Ole says to the press

Anyone fancy compiling a list of when his feckups occur because every one of them seem to be at 0-0 or a crucial time of the game. Never at 3-0 up
I don't remember a single error coming from him when we're 2 or 3 up.

It's always at the crucial part of the game.

Well good news is we do we have Henderson so we dont need to be looking for a new keeper.
Thats really all that needs to be said.
De Gea needs to be dropped. If we cant sell him, so be it. We need our best players to play and Henderson is better than De Gea.

Red Card for Casemiro!
This is not an easy problem for Ole to solve. Today's blunders was preceded by a terrific game by him at Crystal Palace. Experience is supposed to give you maturity, DDG is becoming extremely inconsistent. In some games he keeps us in, in others he's throwing us out the window.

3 years left on a mega contract, and he's just 29 having been our most consistent top player since Fergie left, at least till that World Cup debacle with Spain. If Ole can somehow turn it around whatever has gone wrong with DDG and he becomes consistent again, we'd have at least 3 more years of top service left. However, he doesn't have much time to take the call with Henderson breathing down his neck.

I love DDG but for the money he is earning, he needs to be performing better. Even more frustrating he had a great match against Palace. No idea why he was playing today anyway as Romero should have played.

I think Ole will take a chance on De Gea bouncing back against West Ham. De Gea's form was OK before the Chelsea game.
I have no doubt Ole will stick by him at least until the end of season.

He may well have a good game against West Ham but will make bad mistakes the following games...

DDG is no doubt 1 of the best keepers we've had at the club, but I feel any legacy will be tainted if he keeps making awful mistakes! What worries me more is he's a keeper that relies on reflexes and these type of keepers always seem to peak earlier and fall away quicker, I feel his best Utd days are behind him and there is a massive decision to be made this summer

No chance Ole gets sacked even if we miss top 4. Rightly so.
Hmm I'm not so certain ..by the way that doesn't mean I want him to get sacked. I don't. I just feel that if he doesn't get into the Champions League our "amazing owners" will have a different opinion..

Diabolique. His form is unreliable for 2-3 years.

I'd rather have a less talented keeper that puts in 7 or 8 out of 10 every match as opposed to De Gea that can easily drop a clanger or make some world class saves.

The club needs to move him on.

Is it just me or does he have trouble with deflecting shots he anticipated were going the other way? Not the first time he has done exactly the same mistake. He is expecting a shot to right corner and is unable to deal with the to the near left corner.

He has been on a serious decline for the past 2 seasons. Seems to be more of a mental issue than anything else. I think a return to Spain might do wonders for him.

Shout-out to all the ones who disagreed when some vehemently opposed his contract extension. Crap tonight and has been for a while.

The issue is it's not one off. He has been costing us too many important games now. He can continue making saves for the cameras but overall he has been pretty poor. I think high time we try to replace him and not just feed his ego by continuing to play him

It's time to rest him, he needs some time to get his head right.

Looks like he'll be in for West Ham then
Asked if he is going to stick by De Gea, Solskjaer said: "Of course. We have been unbeaten for 19 games and both Sergio [Romero] and David [De Gea] have played really well in that run.

"We have kept clean sheets, and on Thursday night, he made some great saves against Crystal Palace. I see where you're coming from and everyone is going to make headlines on David, but he knows he should have saved that one.

"I can't speak for his confidence but he is mentally very strong. Everyone has to perform and has a chance to stake a claim every time they play.

"It is hard for a keeper to make amends, apart from David making two or three fantastic saves."

Though I like Onana, there is no way we d spend the amount Ajax would probably demand for Onana without releasing either Romeo or De Gea and he d probably demand a starting role.
We'll start next season with De Gea on the bench, not like anyone can afford him.

Why did he drop Romero anyway,
He is our Cup keeper and I would imagine he would have been pissed over that decision anyway.

Ole has to say that in front of the cameras but would be very surprised if he isn't seriously thinking about getting on the phone to Sheff Utd and telling them that Henderson will not be going out on loan again next season. I have tried to be as supportive to him as possible but this is the second season in a row he has made costly mistakes at the end of it.

Personally I think he hasn't looked himself at all since those mistakes in that 3-3 World Cup game with Portugal two years ago, going into that tournament he had looked back to his best but then that dreadful start looked to have got completely in his head and never fully recovered from it.

Im gutted, so gutted, but we have to at least look at other options.

Give Sergio a go? Or dean henderson the chance to prove his worth.

De gea has to improve the goals today where his fault.
