Seriously? I saw two glaring errors when he was on the pitch. He was robbed of the ball in a dangerous area after hanging onto it for a good 5 seconds, then later on missed an interception entirely and was saved by DDGs reflexes. We settled down when the 2nd went in, but looked just as uncertain before.
True. But he wasted two balls. To put this in perspective nobody is talking about Bruno. I love him but yesterday he wasted abnormal amount of balls - relatively simple passes not including the more audacious ones that didn't come off I understand those are a long shot. But lots of really simple balls. I think it is just tiredness but if you are criticizing Matic for this lets include others in it. :) Pogba also loosing balls in dangerous areas in last two games. And forgot about set pieces. None of that early Bruno magic anymore. :)

He's a completely different type of player. If DDG only got caught on the ball once, would you say that's fine, because other players got caught on the ball too, or would you be critical because he's a goalkeeper and shouldn't dally in dangerous areas?

I understand where you come from. DMC should first and foremost play it safe. But I would still not put it on player as such (keepers excluded) but more on the area of the pitch where he lost the ball. In both last two games we lost some dangerous balls around our penalty area (Pogba's resulted in a goal against in previous game) and both Pogba and Bruno lost a few in the last game to close to our goal.

He is the key for our team. Link between defence and our playmakers. For next season we must bring similiar dmc. It is up to us and market to decide will that player be cheaper backup option or we will buy top class dmc who will rotate with Matic.
But going into next season without another dmc will mean that we will not fight for title.

Although i think that Fred can play there. But can he play on Matic level i am not so sure

Leon Goretzka or Ndidi would be the ones for me.

I have to admit I have not rated him much since he joined, but he is really showing what a classy holding midfielder he is.

Carrick and Scholes eat your heart out. Ok not quite, but getting there :P

His performance has dipped after he got the contract. In a way he is the one of the resons we don't ever break the press. His passes are mostly sideways and nowhere penetrative to beat the press.

It's a ploy that he joins the centre backs to helps with bringing the ball out however it's become a problem since he only passes sideways and then Maguire and lindeloff pass with each other until we lose the ball.

We need him to be more brave or need a Carrick sort of a player whose can break the press. Pogba has the tools to do that but every opposition knows it and they close him quickly.

It's so easy to dribble past him. He just doesn't have the attributes to deal with a high press. So painfully slow on the turn too.

He’s done it again
Has these little comeback tours then reverts to being shit, slow and too deep in midfield. No way he should playing two games a week especially against the more competent sides.

We have run him into the ground again unfortunately.

He's a class midfielder but he can't play every game that's for sure. We need to know when to play him and when to rest him to get the best out of him.

He actually did quite well when he came on as a sub on Thursday but was poor today and against Southampton. He's had three good spells at United, his first 6 weeks, then 6 weeks when a new manager came in and then the last while when playing for a new contract. The first two were then followed by a year of him being shit with the excuse continuously being "he's tired" so there's certainly a fear that we're heading into another spell of poor form and then not playing again.

I don't know how he was in the top 4 for MOTM voting, did very little with the ball and got caught on it several times, we can't get away with him, Maguire and lindelof as the triumvirate of turtles back there.

I imagine Regulus and the gang will swerve the thread again until his next average performance. That's three games on the bounce he's been robbed of the ball in a dangerous area. He just can't play against teams that don't give him time. Restrict him to games against teams that sit back .

He wasn’t great but in a team where no one was great he was the 2nd best of a bad bunch in my opinion.

Matic was not good today and he was voted top 3 for Motm, that says enough about the team performance. No one would score higher than 5.

Matic wouldn’t be Matic within him losing possession in a dangerous area but he can only turn one way.
He wasn’t the worse out there but he’s very limited.

Again the 3 year contract is mind boggling.

Lingard , Jones and Matic contracts have been dealt by Peppa Pig.

Losing to Comeback Winning!
Making more and more mistakes at dangerous position and losing the ball.

He's becoming too naive -- he can no longer hold the ball and bully pressers (as he can before in his prime) yet he continue to do so.

Then again, we already know that.

Ole: "Matic will play again next game".

Played well till he got contract, now he is back. Too many touches, completely slows down the game and barely makes any decent pass. What a shit player he has become after the contract. Fred should be playing.

He's run into the ground like the rest of them. We've seen before how he performs when he's not given a rest. This is nothing new.

Not a great game but bit of a one man midfield in defense today as both Pogba and Bruno looked completely gassed.

Everyone deep down knew once he signed his contract, his performances will dip. I do not get why we had to renew his contract midseason?

I have never seen a player keep or increase their performance levels.

He was shite again. No coincidence our team looks half as good. We’re in dire need of another midfielder as well clearly as Solskjaer doesn’t trust the other day when Matic is clearly dying on his feet.
