Jesus Christ have Leicester all of a sudden turned into peak Barcelona ?!
You’ve just watched us get played off the park by fecking West Ham. Why shouldn’t people be concerned that this team might lose to Leicester?

I'd like to personally thank Coronavirus for preventing me from going to see that game.

I think Williams has had a pretty good season but he's nowhere near as good as Shaw. He doesn't have the same connection with Rashfordand and he's not good enough yet for the starting Eleven. Our last two games have just been a bit of a disaster... Total write-off's. We've done well to get back to the top of the league but there is along way to go yet.

I hope the Old Trafford psychiatrist gets the lads sorted for the game against Leicester...

Was unable to watch the game, what a disappointing result though.
I really think the fatigue factor is being done to death. It's a ffffing excuse for poor performance imo.
Still in our hands though and if we can't get a draw against Leicester then we don't deserve to be in the CL anyway.

The game against Leicester is the cup final, should have rested players either against Chelsea or West Ham.

It’s a point gained over Leicester and we haven’t lost in the league for a while. Not the form we hoped to finish the season with but let’s not shit the bed just yet.

As long as win or draw against LCFC, it doesnt matter. The shite performances are a bit worrying though, Leicester will come out guns blazing. Maguire and Lindelof need to be at their best or else we are fecked. Would be fecking dissapointing if we miss out on top 4.

Its hard to criticize the manager on here or anywhere online because the neanderthal Ole Out brigade are just annoying relentless cnuts but he has handled the squad poorly the last few weeks. He has to have more faith in the fringe players because Rashford and Bruno where shattered and were poor. Fred would have done a good job alongside Pogba and Matican and James or Ighalo could have helped up top. If we bottle this it will be down to his in ability to keep the starting eleven fresh.

In their last two games they've been spanked 3-0 by Spurs and 4-1 by Bournemouth. They're missing Chilwell, Soyuncu and Maddison. Let's not pretend they haven't been woeful.
Yep.

I'm not making excuses for Utd. We were fecking appalling tonight but let's not act like Leicester are in great shape.

They've looked woeful recently and they're missing 4 or 5 of their first choice team.

We should be able to go there and avoid defeat.

No we didn't.
We needed to win.
What if Leicester beat us on Sunday?
If we had won today and Leicester beat us Sunday we would finish below them if we draw today and Leicester beat us on Sunday we go below them. If we draw today and draw on Sunday we finish above Leicester.
Winning today makes absolutely no difference to our chances of qualifying.

pogba not man enough to take a ball to the face, £300,000 a week ,and he's not prepared to put his body on the line for the club, he looks like he isn't bothered either way!! sooner we get shut the better, him and his agent are poison.
how many times has he let us down since his comeback??

The same Leicester who have lost most of their games since restart?

The trouble isn't in what we're doing now but how we started the season. It's a big game next game but we just have to do our job. I think West Ham looked decent but didn't really threaten a great deal and the penalty was avoidable.

There was a lack of urgency but i don't feel the first half was too bad. However. the second half was awful - so reminiscent of games we've seen over the last few years.

Maguire was better tonight but i wouldn't say anyone had a good game. Bruno had his worst game so far IMO.

Where did our press go? I swear we went that entire match without a high press. And we're just not aggressive enough without it.

Reality kicked in that big chunk of our fanbase are massive fannies.

Nothing actually changed, win tonight nothing really changed as Leciester beat us by goal or more they go thru depending on Chelsea results.

Whats the panic about. We to into the last game of the season with something to play for. This is what you want as a fan, I cant wait for it. Massive game

We need to be more effective in that midfield.
We seem to have the skill but lack the grit when the going gets tough.
Might need bruno to drop deeper to help and counter against any press.

Sometimes he is the furtherst up the pitch almost at the striker position next to Martial.

Our midfielders don't have the legs they did at the beginning of this run. We just need to grind it out.

I can't see them losing both so we're pretty much out. We might win the EL... but that's the only hope I can see.

Take your head for a wobble,

Not much to talk about. It feels like if we played one tempo faster, we would've won. It worries me more that we we losing midfield battle because we're running empty on gas.

Fred would be useful with his energy, I'd rather have hiv than Pogba as we have enough attacking power up front even if Rashford is having a day off.

So matic and Pogba probably keep the ball better than any one in our team, even on a off day. However your idea is to bring on players who don’t hold onto the ball well enough against a team that’s pressing us. You may have something there. I mean it worked so well vs soton
I think Ole held that view as well, which explains why he didn't take either Matic or Pogba out. In hindsight, however, I'd have changed us into a midfield 3 with Fred in for Fernandes to free up Pogba. A Pogba making runs from deep would have been too much for West Ham, and Matic would have also had the freedom to go forward and link up with our wide players. As it was, though, we had a tired Fernandes continue to play and wane in influence as the 2nd half progressed.

Grateful to be playing Leicester away who need to win on the last day. Gives us some chance of exposing any space. More so than v West Ham and Southampton who’s priority was seemingly not to lose

Well if your creative players are tired it’s not hard to understand why we weren’t cutting them appart. No movement off the ball and poor choices.
Matic saw that game out for us. The persistent fouling slowed the game down which suited us fine. I don’t think Fred or mctom would have been that clever.
I get that, throwing on McT or Fred would have resulted in us inviting more pressure. But honestly, as daft as I feel saying it, Lingard would have been a good option. He would have had energy in the final third. He'd have stretched their team a bit as he does make decent runs.

But this also is a problem we have as a squad and something Old hasn't really found yet - a Plan B. He only just really figured out what Plan A is I guess but we seem devoid of another option. I always liked Fella I for this reason - he was great for completely mixing things up and all of a sudden scaring the opposition as now we could go long

Pretty sure drawing against a team that just got spanked 3-0 is also a possibility.
Did you watch that game? Leicester looked decent and already have 3 days extra prep for this game due to us priortising the FA Cup. We are in massive trouble if we put in the same performance again.

That was the weird thing about tonight, unless we won by a hatful of goals for the goal difference a win tonight would have made no difference at all.

They weren’t pressing us. We just weren’t tackling them. If you can’t pass the call, and we couldn’t, bring on somebody that will carry the ball up the pitch. I would normally agree with the fact Matic and Pogba are only midfielders capable of passing but it wasn’t working at all.

If Fred and McTominay aren’t capable of playing in Those circumstances then I don’t know why people care about us qualifying for the Champions League because we’ll need another two midfielders to go on top of everything else we already need anyway to just not shame ourselves in the group stages.
We do need another two midfielders.
Also I like Fred and mctom but have you ever watched them stay composed under pressure? Stop trying to act like the solution was so easy and had we swapped those two in things would have been better

People need to be a little bit more objective about what happened in the game. We weren't just poor throughout. We were absolutely dominating till Pogba's handball. We lacked width in the first half, due to TFM and Williams being utterly useless at providing any form of width, not even being in the right positions for their teammates to open up crossing opportunities. This made it very difficult to for us to break them down. In addition, neither Bruno or Pogba were providing any cutting passes, they were far more cautious than usual.

In the second half, after the Greenwood goal, our legs went and West Ham started attacking more. More importantly, Bowden started attacking Williams, who literally could not stop him in anyway. Every single attack we would have that broke down would be gotten by Bowden, who would then run 40 yards up the pitch with Williams literally providing no threat to his run. You would think he had forgotten how to make a tackle. Macguire and Matic were doing a lot of cleaning up for him today. Furthermore, we still struggle from set pieces, Literally every set piece they had seemed threatening because we found it difficult to clear. McGuire needs a stronger partner, because in the premier league, lower teams take them seriously.
Good post, agreed. Our two starting FB/WB were really awful today.

Sigh there's my faith gone with this team on the final day.

Ole hasn't rotated well, we look knackered.

Ole needed to do subs earlier.

Ole needs to cut out the zonal marking.

Mentality = shot
Is that whats been happening. We look all over the place defensively.

Our sub squad is amazing. When we win, Ole will use all 5 subs. When we lose, he doesnt even dare to replace any players, except for Ighalo, a loan player.

What does that say about our subs?

Only issue is that they've had plenty of rest and the young players are actually looking quite hungry and up for it.

They didn't play TOO badly against spuds despite the scoreline.

The question is which Manchester United will turn up. The one full of energy and running or the one we saw against west ham and chelski?

If its the first one, then I have no worries.

If its the latter, we are in trouble.

It's going into the final match without any sort of momentum that's annoying many I feel. We're limping into that final match after starting the restart so promisingly. I still think we'll finish in the top 4 but we had 3 chances to lock it up before the Leicester match and we bottled it each time.

Hard for many not to look at it as a repeat of last season when we bottled it at the end as well

They still look threatening though. This team looks void of any ideas. Its just mindless, side ways passing.
Their only real threat is Vardy, who is still a serious threat. Without Bailly and Tuanzebe, we don't have defenders who can keep up with his pace. Lindelof can probably handle him, but he won't put a foot in or win the ball quickly against Vardy. Our defensive transitions need to be on point against Leceister, because so far, we've struggled to bring numbers back and get into shape.

The 97th minute goal for Soton could be the real killer here.

I can see Chelsea easily losing & drawing, v Scousers & Wolves so 64pt total. Even two draws 65 pts

We would be on 65 pts now, so could lose the game v Leics. Not ideal but qualify.

He really needs to use all 5 subs v Leics & work out does he start with his knackered stars or bring them on for 45. Yes make 5 sub changes in one go. But then again OGS is not brave enough to do it or plan it.

What if Chelsea lose tonight and draw with Wolves on Sunday? If we had won today we may not even need a result on Sunday and that's a massive shame.
