I see what you mean about that rapids section.

I'm currently at the Shogun/Ninja Theme Park. Easily the most fun section of the game so far. Even the battles are getting slightly more interesting now I can use the Vellumentals in them.
Nice. I'm looking forward to playing it more but currently just working and then doing up my new house, so I've not been on my Switch since either the day or day after I wrote that reply sadly. Maybe I'll take Sunday morning off working on the house and play some Switch before the football fixtures to take my mind off the build-up nerves

So I just got Luigi's mansion 3. Don't know which is most spooky. This or Resident Evil 2 remake.

Do people generally finish one adventure game before moving on to the next or do people switch between multiple games?

I didn't think it was particularly spooky but it was fun to play. It's probably my fav game that I've played on the Switch.

Love the look of Mario Maker 2 by the way.

I didn't even realise it was out. Loved the Crysis games. I'm interested to see how it runs on the Switch.
It runs pretty good! Controls are good, graphics wise aren't going to look ground breaking but they work, certainly the best shooter there is on the switch. I'm enjoying it :)

Sweet. Reckon I'll pick it up so. Reasonably priced too.

Beyond Mario Odyssey and BOTW are there any games you guys would strongly recommend? I don’t really like Smash Bros.

Not at all. If you like strategic battles and JPRG games you'd enjoy it.
Never played a JRPG before but do like strategy/turn based games so I think I’ll pick this up! Loads of people seem to love it on the YouTube reviews.

Just had a look at it on YouTube, no idea what’s going on but looks very cool. Steep learning curve?
It was my first Fire Emblem game and the 3rd strategy game I played (I wasn't convinced by the first two, one of them was Mario + Rabbid (too easy even if every thing was great to watch)). It is now my favorite Switch game and is quite easy to learn.

Just go normal difficulty and don't take the classic mode (so the characters don't die). Then the game explains every thing. I don't think I need to look for info for strategy.
Then you can increase the difficulty for another route if you like it.

I’ll probably wait a while, with Mario Odyssey and Mario Kart I need a break with something a bit different in between.

Has anyone played Dead Cells?
No but it's on my list.

I'm playing Hollow Knight which is really good.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Currently playing Mario Odyssey (saving BOTW for holiday) so gunna try Fire Emblem out and then after that and BOTW I’ll probably go for Luigi’s Mansion or Dead Cells.

Used to love the Pokemon games as a kid but unless they release a remaster of the older ones (which I understand is unlikely since they did that for Fire Red/Leaf Green and Ruby/Sapphire on 3DS) I’ll give them a miss.

Have no interest in Animal Crossing whatsoever and I don’t like playing games which I’ve already played and are better on other consoles (Witcher, Crysis, Civilization).

Let's Go Eevee/Pikachu is essentially a remake of the original game. It's pretty decent too, especially if you also play Pokemon Go, as you can transfer pokemon over to the switch game.

Hve a look at Cuphead too, a great looking, addictive but challenging platformer.

Are Pokemon Sword/Shield worth it? I think the metacritic score is around 80.

If you want more or less the same thing, you will get this. Not the graphics some expect on the Switch, not any new reinvention of the model like Breath of the Wild.An easy and quite fast adventure, pleasant if you like the pokémon.
The new thing is the wild area where there are lot of pokémon, there are also raids that require 4 trainers (one to 4 people, or NPC to fill) to fight and capture a pokémon that got bigger.

There's the hidden cost of needing the online subscription, Pokemon home subscription and the dlcs.

I'm a huge Pokemon fanboy, so I got them. Is it really worth it for someone who's not too fussed about Pokemon? Doubt it.

Anyone interested in Nintendo Switch Online, ShopTo do codes quite a bit cheaper than the RRP. If you were an early adopter then it's likely your subscription is ending in September, so it might be worth grabbing one soon.

https://www.shopto.net/en/switch-membership/

3 Months - £5.85 £6.99
12 Months - £14.85 £17.99
12 Month Family (8 Accounts) - £24.85 £39.99

I believe that the Family Pass can be used between different consoles, so you can get yourself a much cheaper package if you split it with a few people (if you got all eight people on board the cost each is just over £3 a year). I'd have to find a guide on it somewhere, but I believe one console has to be the primary, but it may even be possible for the other users of the account to play the downloaded games of the primary account (as long as another person isn't playing the game at the same time).

Pokémon has a lot of hidden cost if you're someone wishing to complete the Pokédex / get the full experience. The DLC is under £20 on ShopTo as well though and you can find the game online for about £40. It might be worth waiting until next year unless you're really in the mood, as I can imagine them releasing an ultimate edition with the DLC pass included. However, if you've been a Pokémon fan for a long time, this extra cost to be able to do everything / catch as much as possible is nowhere near as bad as it was in the Ruby/Sapphire era

As expected the music in Paper Mario is sublime. Currently nodding my head along to this

Can see someone rapping over that. Maybe Redman. Sounds like something of one of his albums.

I am beyond excited for the Captain Tsubasa game that's coming out next month, it will be glorious!
Just watched some of the gameplay of that and not sure what to think to be honest. Never played the series, art style looks cool but the animations look awful - the dribbling and ball movements are shocking.

Just finished Luigis mansion 3. Have to admit i thought it was really good. Great graphics, artsstyle, charm, bosses and puzzles. Somewhere between 8.5 and 9 for me.

Just started Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive edition. I like it so much more than the sequel. The music is just brilliant.

The extremely English localization also still cracks me up.

Has anyone played Dead Cells?
Yeah I have. It's in general very popular but I didn't quite get it. I thought having to start over all the time got a bit old for my skill level/the speed of progression. Mechanically it works well and slowly piecing together the story was intriguing. It seems to still get free updates as well. @Redlambs loves it, I think.
I enjoyed Rogue Legacy on PC more (or it was more addictive), I think it's on the Switch too.

Yeh I thought that concept sounds a bit tedious to be honest. To be fair was thinking of picking something up for short 15-20 minute plays so may pick it up once it’s a little cheaper. Also seen a lot of people recommending Hollow Knight.

I'm playing Hollow Knight at the moment. I've never played a 'Metroidvania' game before so it took some getting used to. Once I got through the first 'world', I got to grips with it and now I'm really enjoying it.

Just an advice, don't get discouraged when you get lost in the world.
