Really poor today, but showed exactly why Ole keeps him on the pitch despite that. Great to have a player who can make a big difference when having a bad game and running on empty.

Looked utterly exhausted before the penalty with his arms on his hips gasping for breath which had me worried.

But he took the penalty with great authority, he's so good at them.

Signed him at the end of january and he's reached double figures for goals. Remarkable.

In the interview he said that he actually liked how Kasper wanted him to pick up the ball and tried to play a mindgame. Also said it gave him confidence because he knew Kasper was scared. Balls of steel.

I know he’s been at a higher level before so tiredness plays a part given how reliant we’ve been on him but he needs to improve his overall play to be one of the top midfielders in the world. Gives the ball away far too much. I know the goal contributions are incredible but that’s something for him to work on.

That pretty much says anything you need to know. But on top of this he's been working his socks off and done so many sexy moves that he may already have enough for a YouTube compilation video.

Brilliant signing!

There’s no way we would’ve finished 3rd without Bruno. The difference he’s made to the team. Earned a well deserved rest now, let him recharge the batteries and be 100% and raring to go again for the later stages of the EL and try and win some silverware to end the season.

Exhausted but still produced the touch that mattered. That pass to Martial won us the game.

As I've mentioned before, mental tiredness manifests itself in many forms, and for someone like Bruno, who has arrived from a League which is probably not as physically and mentally demanding as the Premier League (due respect to the Portuguese League, I'm not trying to put it down), and with the pressure that players put on themselves, I'm not surprised that the last four matches has seen his overall performance suffer. I fully expect to see him back to his earlier form next season.

He's shown more to me in 6 months than Pogba has done in 4 years.

Our best signing since Sir Alex left.

Another game where I felt he was quite sloppy in his passing and tried to force things, but still had the class and composure to put away such a high pressured penalty.

Like others, I think a rest will do him good.

Great high pressure penalty today (and the pass leading to it), but I think we need to rest him for a long time now and let him recover. If we make the EL final, we can play him, but otherwise, just let him rest. Fred and Mctominay are very competent midfielders, and we can move Pogba further up. Matic-Fred-Pogba is still a very good midfield.

He can't keep playing high risk passes when he's out of form, needs to keep it simple when he feels he's having an off day. Still the most important signing we've made since RVP though, he's the reason we're back in the CL.

Very poor today but again he was switched on enough to play the through ball for Anton

Even in bad games he creates.

If he played a bit more he would be POTS but I'd have to give it to Martial.

Yes he can, because he kept going for it, and ended up putting Marital on through for a penalty.

Yeah we've recouped his transfer fee already, great business tbh

He looked absolutely wreaked today. I hope we give him 10 days off to himself now to re energised himself

When is the date for the quarters of the Europa League?

Awful again.

Not looking forward to going CL with Bruno

It was a mistake by their player. hardly some risky pass
It was a mistake giving the ball away, after which Martial made a narrow run between two defenders, and the pass was no less risky than any others he attempted during the game. You're talking like he tried pin pointing some 50 yard pops or constantly tried playing players through at every opportunity. His mistakes came from simple side passes or from holding the ball too much in deep positions, not from attempting risky passes.

Your bold statement is just a pile of tripe to be honest.

We need to cut him a break here. He's been absolutely world class since he's joined and has carried us over the line. It's clear as day that he's knackered and he will rightfully get a couple of weeks off which I expect will make the world of difference.

One thing I would say though is that his pen was never in doubt for me, just an exceptional player who I think will always deliver in the big moments.

Ole admitted how tired he is but said he's vital to the team, says it all really.

He deserves a good rest now, then we will see his quality return.

Reminds me a little of Ronaldo in that even if he is having a poor game for whatever reason he is still capable of pulling a rabbit out of the hat.

Yes his form has dropped and he was well below his best today but even if I knew he would play exactly as he did today he’d still be the first name on the team sheet. We have no-one else to do what he does and most likely we wouldn’t have won today without him. To say he was awful is harsh albeit he is clearly knackered.

If he had played the full season, he would get my vote for PotS, although he has obviously been run ragged and has been out of gas for a little while now, which has affected his performance as well as the rest of the team, which shows just how influential he's become in such a short time. I do want to see how he performs next season with a full pre-season and a fresh squad. I am still wondering whether his form coming into the club was a purple patch and his true form lies somewhere between the last few games and the first few games.

This will be main theme next season i guess. You do know that those passes produce goals (like today...again)?
He is no10. And he must try those passes. Our other no10 who played simple passes has zero assists in whole season.

For me, it is better that he hits killer pass 1/10 times than play on safe.

It’s quite obvious he’s a “moments” player, as in a player that every game will produce moments of magic to create a chance or goal. We just need his game to improve outside of those moments, where it’s not constant giving the ball away needlessly. And yes there is a difference between taking risks in forward passing, and just playing a shit pass. I think some of that will help with rest, and the other part just needs to come from him realizing he’s not the only one who can create things. It will take time.

23 goals and 18 assists (so far) this season. Another unreal season from him.

Also some of you are being way too harsh on the lad. If you have seen the past few games the man looks dam near exhausted and despite that is still filling up the stat sheet.

You saw how he performed the moment he joined and its safe to say he is world class.

United would be nowhere near the third place position had he not joined.

Squawka Football says he has taken 20 penalties since the start of the 2017-18 season and has scored all 20 of them. That’s amazing.

It’s quite obvious he is physically exhausted. Keep in Mind before coming to United and dragging them to 3rd he was literally carrying the tragic team that is Sporting the best that he could. I’ve seen every game since he joined united and I can see he is knackered and needs rest.

As for the question, yes he has had dips in form just like any other player but just like he’s doing at United he still somehow ALWAYS gets his numbers let it be by a goal or an assist.

I can guarantee he will be fine, he has shown and proven his quality already in these 6 months.
I think his quality is never in question. If it is fatigue he must have been absolutely wrecked to have dip this low compared to his own standard. At points in game I had to wonder if it was Fred in his positions he could have not given that many balls away.

Completely agree. People whining about his recent performances despite being well overplayed and looking shattered. Yet he's still contributing to goals as well. Glad he can finally have a rest now until the Europa League.

I was gassed sitting on my couch watching him today. He looked like he’s just ran a marathon and has been asked to play football

An exceptional footballer who just happens to be shattered.

He'll boss the Europa with his eyes closed.

Anyone know why he covers his ears when he celebrates? I know he's got some right stonkers on him, but surely that can't be the reason why.

He tries 20 killer passes and makes 2. I want to see him try 10 killer passes and still make at least 2. It’s acceptable for him to take risks but accuracy has to improve next season.

Is anyone else a little bit worried about his last performances? Know he's exhausted due to playing almost every single minute, but his last performances have been nothing like the Bruno that got head to head PL POTM.

I hope its just that and he comes back with the performances he had, a big part of our future and hopes relies on him.
