The one I'd take that I haven't seen mentioned is Callum Wilson. We need a backup striker post-Ighalo (though you could argue with Sancho hopefully coming, Greenwood would basically deputise in any position across the front), 28, pacy and decent finisher, English (it's important for squad registration rules!) and looks likely to be on the other side of his injury issues now. 40 goals in 121 PL games so respectable record for a poorer team.

Looks like he'll be headed to Spurs to play second fiddle to Kane, though.

I like the look of Cantwell more than Grealish. With Grealish, he knows he won't be coming here as a starter. Let's say Pogba signs an extension and Bruno is going to play 40 out of 50 games next year, where does Grealish fit in. Certainly don't want an established player like him coming in just be a bench warmer (Potential expensive one at that). We are doing a good job of clearing the happy bench warmers.

Cantwell, on the other hand, is young enough to continue his development and make fewer appearances. He is pretty direct and has an eye for goal.
Grealish is miles better than cantwell

No chance. First of all he’s not a winger like James. Nor is he an upgrade on Fred. He’s an overhyped average player. Awful today. His next level/step should be mid table.
Yeah Fred is great. And James. I am totally wrong. Sorry, it's my first time watching football. I will learn. I hope.

Don’t rate Ake. Deeney, Cantwell and Max Aarons are all worth a look though.

Agree with that 100%.

My point is that if Grealish is happy to come here to be a bench warmer (albeit a good one and upgrade on what we have got) then he shouldn't really be a player for us. I would question his motivation.

So many saying cantwell. Really? Apart from scoring against us (game raising twat), I just don’t see anything special with him

The only player I'd take for United is Ake, think he's a good player who is ready for the step up.

In terms of players for other clubs, Crystal Palace or alike should snap up Troy Deeney, he's a proper leader.

Brooks, Doucoure and Cantwell will get good moves but the rest will go down with their clubs.

Wilson and Sarr. I think the latter would do a decent job on any top 4 right flank. I'm not as convinced by wilson looking at his recent stats, but always liked his qualities, but might as well be my fifa career mode manager speaking.

Sarr is probably the pick of the bunch, but he's not going to be a bargain given Watford paid ~£30m for him.

For me Will Hughes is no where near the standard for where United need to be.
Really? I think he's a very tidy player. Squad option only, but better than lingard, perreira and Mata.

I’d be happy bringing in someone like Sarr but I suspect an Everton type club will pick him up.

Or maybe he fancies himself good enough to put any one of Pogba, Bruno or Rashford on the bench.

Saar is a must even if we sign Sancho. He'd be a great cheapish option to have in the squad

I'm not against buying from relegated clubs - but United don't need more average squad players. United need 3 top quality players this summer to make the next step in the club's return to the top.
Agree. We need to think will they improve on our current options AND are they good enough to play at the level we need them to play. Will one of these players do what we need of our players to challenge for the title and the CL?

Sarr and Jamal Lewis would be alright, if they’re cheap.
Glad someone mentioned Lewis, so much better than Aaron's

A lot of potentially very good players have left the PL this season, be interesting to see how many stay at their relegated clubs

Under a tree.
If the proviso is we are getting Sancho, I would still like a upgrade for Mata and Lingard. Brooks is that, left footed neat right sided player that also can operate as a No.10

Sarr as a alternative to Sancho if we don't end up getting him.

Been messaging my mate who is a Norwich fan and he said and I quote:

“Anyone who wants Aarons hasn’t watched him this season enough he’s living off the championship hype Lewis has comfortably been the better fullback this season.”

Not true, everyone has a role. Remember what RVP and Rio talked about? Having clear roles and understanding is them is important. If Grealish is the one who’s going to get us the points when we need it than that’s good enough for me

As has been the case whenever I've seen Norwich

If we didn't already have Williams I'd be all for us signing him. In truth he's better than Williams but I doubt that'll be enough for us to target him

Most of these names being mentioned here won't do much for us. Fit only as squash depth if they're dirt cheap. They're not much better than we have, and might wilt in a United shirt. If you wanna get a relegation bargin, you go buy Marc Roca tomorrow. I would have said Sandro Tonali tonight but rumours are his future is already elsewhere.

Not for us but Delefeou should be mentioned as a good choice for Premier League teams. Someone like Southampton or Everton could do with a player like him.

The thing that I’ve really been frustrated by with Williams is his lack of left foot. I think it seriously hampers our ability to get behind teams that sit deep when he plays. He’s clearly not as comfortable on the overlap as Shaw.

He’s a solid back up but he doesn’t really offer what we need in attack and the difference between him and Shaw has become more apparent.

When Brandon first burst onto the first team scene I liked him for his attitude and I’d happily keep him in the squad as a fullback rotation but I do now believe another LB naturally left footed is preferred

Sarr, Ake and King would help beef up our squad nicely. Some players have relegation clauses which make them available for dirt cheap. This would be in addition to superstar signings like Sancho.

We need strength in depth and sadly Pereira, Mata, Lingard, Jones, Smalling, Rojo just don't cut it.

Yes he is a tidy player but just because he maybe better than Lingard or Perreira doesn't mean we should go for him.

Sarr with Watford for me has a higher ceiling in terms of potential. He is young and will improve. I don't see that from Will Hughes.

Sarr could be useful. As could Callum Wilson
Contrary to many here, I think Ake as well should be a nice shout if we're tied on funds to fill all positions.
I like Jamal Lewis and Buendia as well.

Wasn't Ben Godfrey given a lot of hype by Rio a while back?

Watched Godfrey today, even though City tokenised them I thought he played well

Lewis was ok. Aarons was gassed at about 70 minutes trying to stop city down his flank

I like the look of Brooks but perhaps now isn't the best time to buy coming back from a long-term lay-off.

Personally the only one I think has the potential to be a top player and for us is Sarr but considering they paid a club record of £30m for him, even relegated he wouldnt be cheap enough to warrant making a move for especially as Sancho is the main target. I think there will be a lot of interest in him though and he will be a very good signing for a premiership side now he looks more settled in the league.
