5-0 up from the first tie. Play kids and/or 2nd-11. Give all 1st-11 a rest.
Team: Romero, Laird, Dalot (LB), Bernard, Mengi, Garner, Levitt, Mata, Chong, Ighalo, James
Bench: Kovar, TFM, Linderof/(Bailly, if fit), McTominay, Fred, Pereira, Lingard

As much as I missed football those 3 months, it's nice to have a couple weeks off
Was an exhausting period even as a fan, every game being nervous because it was all on the line for us. Will be good to have the mini-tournament though. Hard to say they won't treat it like a pre-season even though it's still an important competition and one that would be huge for us and our progression with all the young players to win it.
    Ighalo
    James Mata Lingard
    Fred McTominay
    Dalot Mengi Bailly TFM
    Romero
Bring Garner, Chong, Laird, Pereira and some random other off from the bench. No need to use anyone from the main 11.

Who’s left in this competition that we should really fear? Inter are the biggest name apart from us but I’m not sure they’re that great are they? Definitely more difficult competition than the last time we were in it.

Wolves did it last season when they started their Europa League campaign last July. You don't hear them whinging about it and they have a smaller squad and have played more games,
Not sure Wolves is a great example .... look where they are at now? Back in the Europa.

    Levitt
I'd put Greenwood in there. He should be given his chance to be the main man down the right. Let him taste what it is like to do some heavy lifting without super talents around him.

He needs to get into the habit of destroying the likes of LASK

Fear none, but there are teams such as Inter, Wolves, Sevilla/Roma, Shaktar, Bayer Leverkusen, any of those can get us out if we dont perform.

Hope Romero starts all remaining games in the Europa.

Would hate to see him replaced by de Gea in case we reach the final

Against LASK, yes. I’m not sure I understand why anyone would not want us to go for it in the knockouts. Go all out ffs. Do we not want to win this?
Because there's 10 days till Europa starts then probably only a 2 week break before pre season starts again after the final.

You will understand why next season when our lads can't run for the last 10 games.

No doubt Ole will play the reserves for this one. And see what's next. If a strong one we'll play our strong line up, a weak one then probably a mix. Our key players are clearly knackered and would need a pretty big rest I think. Don't play them unless you have to Ole.

Ole, please, leave starting 11 at home. U-23 have been training for 3-4 days now, the likes of Levitt etc should be ready.
    ps forgot Mengi

No. Winning the Europa League or any other trophy is why I watch every minute of United and traipse up to Old Trafford in sun, rain or snow every other week.

It’s peak internet fan culture to have people opining on how the players’ workload is going to effect the 2020-21 season when the fecking 2019-20 season isn’t even finished. Stop wishing the players’ careers away. The worst aspect of modern football is the fetishisation of securing CL football and it being to the detriment of everything else.

I’ll gladly trade a slow start to next season for a European trophy and a shot at a second. Thankfully it doesn’t have to be an either-or situation though.
Well said. I agree with everything you've stated

Agree with this but swap Mata and Lingard. Very important squad players are given game time for fitness for future rounds.

No he can't play. I can't remember who said maybe @limerickcitykid said he hasn't been registered for the B team or something as he's not been at the club 2 years.
Yea he wasn’t registered on the A list and isn’t eligible for the B list because he hasn’t been at the club for 2 years. It’s why Kovar was registered on the A list because he also wasn’t eligible for the B list.

    Dalot - Bailly - Mengi - TFM
    McTominay - Fred
    Mata
    Lingard - Ighalo - James

I'm guessing this how we'll play. Dodgy defense, won't be surprised if Maguire will play instead.

I hope we take the Europa seriously, it's a trophy. For this one though i'd be happy with Romero, Mengi, Laird, Fosu, Fred, Scott, Garner, Mata, Jesse, Chong all featuring in some way.

But we could at least give a debut to Kovar then? Against LASK

That's what happens when you're in the Europa League. The same applies to City and Chelsea in the Champions League though they could possibly get knocked out in the next round. Teams in the top competitions will play more games.

You can't be screaming for European football then moaning about the consequences. Make your mind up. It was an unconventional season this year and we'll just have to go with it. Stop whining.

Wolves did it last season when they started their Europa League campaign last July. You don't hear them whinging about it and they have a smaller squad and have played more games,
Who's been screaming for Europa league?!

The fact is next year won't be a regular season. It's going to be even more congested, it's going to be like post lockdown this season, but for the whole bloody season! I don't think you realise that do you? We have the Euros at the end of this season now so it has to end even earlier.

The season is starting a month later than usual and ending earlier than usual, good luck fitting all those matches in!

Whats more important for United, to cement themselves in the CL positions regularly and challenge for the title, or win a tinpot Europa League that nobody cared about 6 years ago?

He's a goalkeeper, so I doubt it. It'd be more beneficial to let Romero play 90 minutes to be sharper if he ends up playing instead of de Gea for whatever reason. Even then, it'd be more beneficial to give Grant minutes if we decided to use one of our substitutions for the goalkeeper position.

Grant? Thanks but no thanks. He is how old, 48? There is no point to even have him in the team, and Kovar is young and well spoken of. To play Romero is fine, but if not, give it to Kovar

Why would one hate a worse player to be replaced by a better player for the final? It doesn’t require being an Einstein to understand that playing a better player may lead to better result.

If Greenwood plays, I'd like them to try him in the centre, which I think will be the position he ultimately ends up playing. He hasn't played there since he built himself up over the lockdown so would be good to see what he can do there with his new physique.

New season 12th September. Think we have shown fatigue this year? Seen nothing yet. Next year is going to be brutal.

Play the kids. We've already got CL football.
Exactly. Anything other than playing the backup players would be criminal.

Ideally crashing out at the first opportunity would be the best thing.

Greenwood is clearly knackered. It would be ridiculous to play him, or any first team players in these games
