He sounds absolutely delightful.

Of course it hurts,” he told Watford’s official website. “Maybe I’m not going to show it but it’s the missus and the kids who will see it over the next two weeks, so I apologise to them in advance. I’m not going to sit around and sulk, I will throw a few things, probably smash a few things, replace them and go again.
Personally, based on these comments and some of his past stuff, I think he has a really fecked up idea of what it means to be a man, and he's not alone in thinking this way

I don't know what he's said before but that comment in isolation is hardly a big deal. They got relegated, he's annoyed. Of course his family are going to see that in him. He's not saying he's going to throw things at them.

Arsenal fans need to let it go, still bitter that he had the nerve to say about their team what Arsenal fans themselves were saying anyway.

I'd imagine those things were said a bit tongue in cheek and a metaphor for a display of emotion, rathen than what he will actually do.

He's basically saying "yes I will be hurting even at home and I do care"

Smashing items around the house in front of your children is poor. Of course, it may be an iffy turn of phrase to express his disappointment, but always expect the unexpected when it comes to this sort of thing.

Yeah seems a lot more likely especially after seeing a few interviews with him. He's had Arsenal fans rattled for a while though so no surprise they presume it's more.

This. Everyone at the pressure end of football would find it hard to switch off from it when they're at home. They've got relegated and his future is unclear so he's not going to be in the best of moods for a while. Perfectly normal

What the feck? whats wrong with what he said? If you believe it literally then thats your problem. Of course he will be pissed, a lot of peopld carry difficult problems at work with them to their homes, it just means we are humans.

I wonder how many of the people who are saying his comments weren't serious have actually been in a relationship where their partner breaks things around the house when they're in a bad mood, or as a way to "display their emotions". For him to feel comfortable enough to say that sort of thing publically in an interview makes me wonder what sort of shit he gets up to in private.

Across came across as a bit of a rough 'un. Didn't he also do a stint in the nick for assault back in his early Watford days?

You can wonder all you like, there's absolutely no evidence to suggest he's abusive or anything remotely like it. Get a fecking grip will you!

Just because Deeny said Arsenal lack balls, which wasn't that far away from the truth, Arsenal fans seem to have an obsession with him. Small time fans!

They need to let that go as much as our fans do about Sunderland taking the piss out of us on the final day of the 2012 season.

Yep.

My view on this is

1) Smashing things in front of your partner and kids is often a feature of domestic violence, and can, in and of itself, constitute domestic violence

2) He's clearly joking

If he wants to replace things that are smashed up, he could start with his teeth, mind.

Guy feels a bit moody because work is shit.

Arsenal fans = "He is definitely gonna batter the wife and kids. Disgusting."

He isn’t very good. I would be very surprised if that isn’t the last we seen of him in the PL. 10 goals this season, half of which were penalties which covers up his poor contribution.

He is pretty immobile and offers little to nothing from open play when I have seen them.

I think Watford need to move on for themselves, nevermind Deeney looking for a better option!

If he gets angry about relegation what's to stop him going on a killing spree and wiping out an entire village? It's scary when you think about it.

WW3 could happen at any moment and now I'm worried about Deeney murdering everyone in some sleepy hamlet in Hertfordshire

Hmmm, he was sent to jail for kicking a student in the head?

You should be worried. It starts with him trudging off the pitch and doing half-hearted fist bumps and ends with him turning the gun on himself. It's all so predictable. How come only Arsenal fans are alive to the threat?

He's basically a rampaging Brummie Godzilla and he's out there now doing God knows what but, like the scientist in a disaster film, nobody is listening to @Mogget.

Someone please raise the alarm.

Pretty sad to try and twist that out to be anything other than a throwaway comment. Deeney always come across as a nice guy who’s come from a troubled past and is more than aware of his flaws. Nothing in that comment at all.

I feel like doing this every time I have a shit day at work, the only problem is I don’t have enough money to replace everything...
