Gotta love Italian clubs. Their dedication to cheapness is admirable. This is for the player who's supposedly been one of their best players this season.

And then you have madness like Napoli spending 60 million on a striker with one decent season in Ligue 1.

If they can’t pay an extra 3m a year from now, feck ‘em. Might as well bring him back and use him. Maguire, Smalling, Lindelof, Bailly and buy a new young CB should be good. We have Tuanzebe as well.

Likewise I've heard Skriniar has been awful and outshone by De Vrij. Inter exchanging one bad player for another but Ndombeles issues aren't his capabilities it seems his mentality and fitness has been poor.

Knew nothing about Osimhen, saw the fee Napoli paid/will pay, went to YouTube and I’m not convinced.

That is a lot of money.

you would think they are selling a player or two. I think Koulibaly (City) and Milik (Juve) are off, and they have bought Osimhen and will buy a CB as well

They’ll analyse his shit like they did with Lukaku and he’ll be good to go.

The article itself has a few more details about the potential transfer:

Key points:
  • Spurs are having a tough time meeting Skriniar's salary demands
  • Levy is reluctant to move on from Ndombele so soon
Bonus Amoyal Tweet that affirms their pursuit of Kumbulla and why they'd be okay with letting go of Skriniar:

If Smalling really wants that move to Italy, wonder if the possibility of offering him plus cash for Koulibaly will be explored? Probably not, but would make sense I think. But what do I know, I'm eating crisp sandwiches in bed and drinking bottles of beer while watching The Godfather

More on Milik's impending departure:

Key points:
  • Juventus have an agreement with the player, but they have yet to satisfy Napoli.
  • Federico Bernardeschi going the other way may be the key, but further developments will occur once Bernardeschi changes his agent.

Valero is in direct competition with Eriksen for the AM spot. Conte also often plays without an AM, which he has for most of this season.

Newcastle United may have missed out on new owners, but that won't stop them from targeting new recruits.

They will not pay up to sign him permanently. Bring him back and give him a proper chance to gain first-team position, or flog him off to Everton or West Ham.

More info from Di Marzio:

Key points:
  • Roma have until August 3rd to extend his loan and have an option to purchase him
  • Roma are looking at Fortuna Dusseldorf's Kaan Ayhan as an alternative (who Sassuolo are also targeting)
Conte will likely buy him if Roma cannot pony up.

He likes ex United players, and Smalling-DrVrij will be a decent partnership.

Why? He's 35 and clearly has no legs left to play in Conte's system.
He's made decent contributions as a playmaking midfielder. He may not have the legs to cover much ground, but he provides a calming presence and stability to the Inter midfield. He also plays Brozovic and Barella into advanced positions more often, too, making them more dangerous when Inter are on the ball. Eriksen, on the other hand, plays more in the final third and is a bigger threat on the counter, but he doesn't necessarily offer the calming presence that Valero does.

Just praying he never comes back, though I'm not too bothered tbh. No way will he be a starter for United and he'd be woefully exposed by the way we play now. Italy's his level now. Hopefully another Italian club will pick him up if Roma don't want to cough up.

Just give Roma a simple answer in: NO
He still has a contract with us. He can play as a backup unless there is a PL team that want to but y him and I am pretty sure he won’t have problems in finding a new club in PL that is willing to pay more than Roma. Like he is still one of the best English defenders no matter if you like him or not. I don’t like that we keep try

If Roma don't wanna pay up, that'd show him they don't value him that much.

Theirs an awful club in London currently begging for defenders, we'd get more from them.

I hate Roma. Stupid hipster club. I wouldn’t budge at all.

They had him for a year on loan, why should United be charitable and loan him again? Pay up losers

If Roma is not willing to pay what we're asking for, i bet there's few of EPL sides that are willing.

When the story came out that they wanted another loan and then an obligation to buy I knew this wouldn't happen.
I guarentee there would be an attempt to get out of that option

Though he has just turned 30 and would like him sold, I dont blame us not budging on that deal. Surely there would be premiership sides who would pay £18m for Smalling? He would improve a lot of defences in the premiership and dare I say it though I dont want him anymore we would ave been better off with Smalling than Lindelof every game last this season jsut gone too

Last part is pushing it. There’s a reason we had one the best defences in the league and Lindelof played a role in that.

Smalling deserves to play and I think this’ll end up being another example of United letting a player go for seemingly peanuts to facilitate that.

Have not progressed at all. And I am pretty sure he will not cope well with PL tempo. He looks very slow even in Serie A. Plays mostly in a 3-5-2 at Inter. Whenever I’ve seen him in a 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 he looks pretty bad actually.
Typical Mourinho signing though.
