Gribbin started demanding to be in the first team and refused to play for the u23s. The coaching staff got sick of his shit and told him he wasn’t welcome at training anymore.

Gribbin was an arrogant prick who no one at the club particularly liked, the opposite of Angel.
Thanks, definitely not the same then.
Liverpool wanted Gribbin, but they wanted him as a youth player with a view to first team football in the future. Same as we did.
Thanks.

Nothing yet.

So bizarre. The 'saga' of his contract ran on for a time.

Been discussed to death but you'd think he'd have landed a club real quick.

Wish him the best and hope there's nothing going on that we don't know about that could cause him real problems.

Maybe he's waiting to see if Mata, Lingard, etc... leave? No idea.

Good luck to him. He needs games, hopefully he will get them and develop.

I really don’t imagine we will regret him leaving.

The right sort of move for him, they play good football and have decent attackers in Bamba and Ikone to work with.

Lille would be a great move for him. A good Ligue 1 club.

Some really underrate him on here.

If he’s struggling to find a club then it’s a proper shame for him and whoever is advising him has done an awful job.

Hope he does, good luck to the kid.

Hope it works out for him.

Not sure if he'll do a Pogba as unlike when the latter left, we already have comparable talents in his position around his age who are around the same age or younger.

Nevertheless, I hope he manages to get to the elite level in any case. He's a lovely player to watch when in full flow, and the game would be all the better for it if he managed to get there.

I wonder what kind of strip mall agent he has, to be making wage demands and advising him to leave the club with no other offer in hand.

He had good reasons to reject our offer but surely his advisers must've had a similar offer on the table from various other clubs ?

This doesn't look particularly well managed.

I dont think this is only about money. He'd find it difficult to break into the first team here. If it turns out they'll find a proper team for him where he'll get games and continue his development then its hard to critisize his advisor

I wonder if this will end-up being like the Fryers situation, where he joins a European club for a short time before moving back to an English club for less than the tribunal cost that would be due to us if he went direct to an English club, e.g. spend six months at Lille before going to Chelsea in January?

Doubt it, his career could easily nosedive like Fryers has if he had that mentality.

I doubt his tribunal fee would be that much anyway. He's barely played for us.

There's me thinking he would go to Portugal or the Championship.

Still, Lille would be a good club to go to. Hone his craft and play good football.

And they have Europa league too, so european football exposure.

Still think he will try to come back, grass is not greener and a contract at United for 30k pw is better than zero.

Really hope the Jonathan David deal goes through too. Would be nice to follow them together.
Was surprised to see you cared about David (due to him having no links here and your knowledge of the academy), until I read your tagline. It would be nice to see him and Davies reach their potential and maybe we can finally win a world cup game.

Could have done the same here under a loan. The agent is looking for money imo; get him to a smaller club, hope he delivers and then transfer him to a bigger club.

Strange move.

I have a feeling his demands were too high, he rejected a number of offers from us and this is in-line to what Ole has said to the press (i.e. either take our last offer or wish him the best of luck).

He probably was hoping that we would give him another improved terms but we stepped away completely.

So Lille don't even deem him ready for their squad?!?
He's got a long long way to go.

Didn't we want to send him out on loan and he declined? Or am I just completely off.

Apparently, Man Utd did wisely not to give in to his demands. He can’t get a spot even in such a team as Lille
