Should have gotten him the summer that everyone was fawning over Lukaku and Morata. Was cheaper than those two as well.
I don’t think he was available. Arsenal bought him the summer we bought Fred (so practically nobody!) didn’t they?

Jose was our manager, he got what he wanted. Imagine him trying to play some combination of Martial, Rashford and Auba in a team.

My guess. 29, £56m and from an inferior league looked like a risk at the time.
Inferior league...
The difference between the EPL and Germany is 1 or 2 top clubs but do you think that the average team in the BL or EPL are in any notable way different?
This kind of argument will always be weird and why quality players will still be quality players in any league though there is always a chance of a player just not fitting a certain club (that happens with transfers within a league also all the time).

Clearly inferior league.

And yes, in addition to what I said, it’s was risk to take a 29 year old to the PL.

Paid off obviously.

I agree with that, outside of the top teams in every league, the rest is fodder and performances from players like Auba can be expected to be replicated, though it doesn't always work out obviously.

Perfect moment to leave arsenal. This is the highest trophy he could win there. Great player.

Its kind of cruel to the Arsenal fans that this narrative of winning the cup will keep Auba has been oushed forward.
Why would he accept EL?

Auba will stay. No out of the Epl can pay his wages and next year will be too late for him

Barcelona? Juve? PSG? Cant's see him going to Inter.
Are those your predictions or solid rumours?

he looks like he is really hitting his peak. If Arteta can keep him and Lacazette, Arsenal might have a decent chance for top 4 next year.

Would have been better for them to miss out on Europa so they could just concentrate on the league

He's on 200k now and will get around 250k. I expect him to sign on as its doubtful anyone would pay that much to a 32year old next year.

Bit bizarre

He could have easily committed his future to Arsenal and say he wants to stay, but he didn't. Yet Arteta looks convinced that he's going to stay.'

Just my predictions (can see him there) because someone asked where he could go next year. He has to be crazy to stay at Arsenal but who could pay his wages though.
