How are our rivals fans reacting to this transfer? Are they being sour as usual or they concede defeat right from the start that we are a more financially stable club?
My best friend is a Liverpool fan who even just a month ago said he would happily sell Salah to finance a move for Sancho is now saying, “it’s no big deal” that, “United’s need is greater than ours” and that “£100m is stupid money to throw at him”

Sour much?

They do. They get 15% of the profit Dortmund make on him (so will likely get around 10-15 million pounds when all is said and done). He didn't leave for free like some have said, City sold him for £ 8 million
Yeah you are right. It was me above. I read that story somewhere but it seems bollocks.
Checked again and it's true that City sold him for £8m.

I'm not sure if I'm transcending into a football god, or if this is just another Skåre Willoch moment, but I think Sancho is a decent signing and that a deal will be done by the end of the week.

We should pay 10 million for Sancho and the remaining 100 million for a pre-season friendly :D

Its the only thing that pisses me off in this move. Dortmund hoover up top young talent and give them game time in systems where they can thrive. Then they offload and pocket mucho dinero. It almost seems cynical. I look forward to skipping the middle man in the future. I know Jadon is a big talent but like Dembele its a lot of risk relative to the price whereas we scooped up Fernandes for 40million. That is the type of business that is win win. Now if Jadon happens to become a truly dominant player then none of us will give a damn but in general it is not a strategy I feel comfortable with.
We will never be able to skip the middle man cause of who we are. The pressure of playing for Manchester United is far far larger then Dortmund. Only very very few young players can come here and make enough of an instant impression to get enough game time. It's the way of things. The key is finding balance.
Dortmund can sign a talented young player, give him minutes without pressure and assure him of finding a bigger club when his game matures. Clubs like ours can't offer that.

A friend sent a screen cap of Woodward saying he agreed personal terms with Sancho, smelled a poor photoshop attempt but I'm so starving for signings, I'm ready to believe anything

Is that so? I've seen many posts how he's best from the left coming inside. But that's great news.
He's both really, as well as AM. Which is why he's such a great signing.

In the BL and CL this season he's played the following:

RW - 18 games, 7 goals, 10 assists
AM - 12 games, 6 goals, 3 assists
LW - 10 games, 8 goals, 7 assists

His minutes-to-goals/assists ratio is certainly best coming from the left, but then again, I have no idea how "fixed" these positions have been during games, or if it's just where he's listed in the line ups. I suspect he's quite fluid, playing across the line in almost every game (he's done that in a few games I've watched, at least). As when Greenwood assisted that marvelous Bruno counter attacking goal from the left.

Your're right.

So we had quite a bit of activity yesterday, what do we think is going to happen today? A post by the club saying a fee has been agreed subject to personal terms and a medical?
Nah you just know they'll announce it like a day or two after the deal is done, just so they can make some silly announcement video.

How did Longstaff do by the way. I don't follow New Castle much so I don't know how did he fare this season
We were desperate for him last year
The media said we were desperate for him. We have no real idea if we really were.

He's an average premier league midfielder at an average team.
Can't believe he'd have been any sort of game changer here.

If they do it before the LASK game (the agreed-fee) it will be what commentators talk about during the LASK game, they'll want pundits to talk about things like that for publicity, so I can see some further movement today honestly.

Sancho Rashford Martial sounds lethal to be frank but the way Mason's been ruthless I don't think he'll be held out of our starting 11 for too long. Exciting times ahead if we manage to get the deal done.

I still think he has some serious problem with his attitude. Always putting himself on the limelight, trying to be a star even if he didn't perform.

I can't remember a single player who came to United who thinks he is a mega star like Depay, good riddance to be honest.

I guess he thinks he will get to play for United again untill now...but no chance.
Very true

It's going to take some serious self restraint to stop me getting Sancho 7 on next seasons shirt.
Or save money by getting a current shirt with Sanchez on the back... peel off the 'EZ' and just replace with an 'O'. Job done!

That was my first thought.
Then remembered he plays as Alexis.

No
We were interested in signing him, Newcastle quoted us an insane price and we told them to get fecked.
