60m Euros is what I read and saw. That's just over 50m quid. And he wasn't near end of his deal either was he?

I think Sancho is probably worth about 85m to 90m in this market. Next summer about 50 to 55m unless he signed a new deal beforehand.

Feels like history repeating itself. We have to overpay for everyone. AWB, Maguire were both overpriced. Pogba was too.
Not surprising it's you saying that  .

Under soil heating.
We literally do it every time a week or 2 before we announce a transfer. It probably won't happen by the end of this week like some were hoping at first, but honestly I'm not worried at all. Can only see him coming here.
I know we do and I think he will sign for us too but I don’t see why we keep doing it.

We were backed into corner for Maguire deal as we were desperate for a CB and needed to make Champions league this season.

With Sancho we are in far better position.
Why shouldnt Woodward do his very best to get the lowest price possible?

We have no competition For Sancho or immediate deadline and Dortmund have to sell as the player has already mentally and emotionally left the club.

If it comes off, great. If not, nothing lost either.

I dont get this either, people complaining over Ed trying to lower the price. And if he pays what they want imidiately it's not good either.

It beggars belief how that clown indykalia has accrued over 300k followers on Twitter for being a bullshitter.

What's amazing is how he kept them even after being outed as a bullshitter over and over. Just goes to show you many people don't really care about truth or facts, only what they want to hear.

We have posters on here wanking themselves silly to these reddit clowns. Most know it, but still can't help themselves

I don’t suppose there’s a chance that Dortmund have leaked that this deal is really close to being over the line so if united don’t cough up it makes Ed and United look awful to their fan base? It’s certainly one way of putting pressure on.

So united have tried to counter that with a leak underplaying how far away we are.

Yes even if we manage to shake off 10-15m, it's a huge deal for self sufficient club like ours. That's almost 4-5 % of our revenue. In Covid season it could be even higher.

All I will say is that think it's unlikely that it's going to be announced on Friday

He’ll get a way easier ride than Pogba, he’s a talented young English international they’ll fawn over if he plays anywhere near as good as he did for Dortmund.
plus it hel
Are you asking why we do our best to negotiate? Why wouldn’t we?
The deadline of August 10th

I’m guessing aug 10 2020 right? Not 2021?

Sancho is a huge talent. One question about the whole thing is bugging me, though. Why does no other top club appear to be in for him? It's unusual to see a great talent go uncontested like this.

Put it in this way, he will cost us 34m ( if your figures are correct) per year as transfer fees are amortized. We just saved 30m by offloading Sanchez. Doesn't look that bad then does it?
Sancho is a good player with a lot of potential but playing for a big club like United comes down to character and just being a good fit from the get-go. He could be a Bruno and hit the ground running or be a Pogba who delivers in patches or worse a Sanchez, who despite having PL experience struggled. It's a huge gamble. Hopefully, it works out.

COVID, clubs have pretty much confirmed they’re not going big this summer.

Napoli just bought Osimhen for 80mil I didn't see the prices go down post COVID atm.

They paid 50mil euros so not a great example.

Every single player we have bought has played in patches, not a single exception.

Is hope by this point most people follow him for the laugh rather than believing him. He’s pretty much a parody at this stage, but lots of wanna be indys that’s for sure!

$$$

Not many clubs can afford this kind of outlay under the current market conditions, you could probably count maybe 2-3

Relax, he's coming, the problem is because we are Man Utd we have to do the dance in public. We take no longer than any other club, just the selling club like to make it known from day one that they are doing the dance with us.

Werner and Havertz are hugely talented players and there are going to Chelsea unopposed as well. It's just that not everyone can take the hit of paying over the odds and accepting the risk to reward ratio.

It's baffling though that despite not having another team to drive the price up and despite the pandemic climate, we are still be held to a ransom of 120m euros.

Which top club has 100m to spare to strenghten a position they don’t need to?

Transfer Fee: 120m euros ~ 108m pounds
Base Salary: 250k/ week ~ 13m pounds per year for 5 years -> 65m pounds in total

Total amount that Sancho will cost us is 173m and that does not even account for bonuses.

Ferran Torres cost City 25m or so with some add ons. I think his salary is probably below 200K/ week for sure.

Torres & Sancho are of the same age. Is Sancho 80m better than Torres?
Why you are comparing the second most hyped young player in the world with a defender?

The latter was worth every penny and is the only one for which there is possibility of multiplying what we paid if he was to decide to leave.

A perfect storm (from United’s perspective) really:

• In the Premier League, he won’t rejoin City. Liverpool can’t afford him and arguably don’t need him. Chelsea are stacked.
• In Spain, Barcelona are in financial trouble and Madrid don’t seem to have the funds to go £100m+ on a player again this summer.
• In Germany, Bayern won’t pay that amount for him.
• In Italy, no Italian club will commit that amount post-Covid.
• In France, PSG are stacked up front and don’t need him.

It genuinely is only United who have a pressing need for him and are willing to spend mega money to get it done. Nothing at all to do with his talent and/or temperament. Every club in the world would take him if offered in the morning.

It’s impressive how we can continually use the BBC as our own personal propaganda arm. Stone is Ed’s Laura Kuenssberg
I said this last week. Manchester United trust the BBC for leaks. It is obvious though because you can't compare the BBC to some random journalist on Twitter. Its a publicily funded organisation and is more accountable to its audience than twitterati. Anything Stone says, the public will believe it because it is the BBC and trust me if push came to the shove and he was asked to reveal his sources, he exactly has to do that. He works for the BBC and every strory he publishes, 99 per cent it has a verifiable source. I don't want to sound like an Idiot but we here on the Caf like to believe more in what we want to hear rather than the actual truth. Its understandable because we are football fans on an internet forum who want good news for United all the time.
