I will always remember this moment from him. It was genuinely ome of the most stupid things I saw in football game. It was even funnier live.
I remember thinking to myself how we managed to get stuck with such a guy. You can just tell how disgusted Herrera is. Once again a big thank you to Inter for taking him off our hands.

Weirdly small time from Inter

He still has a shit first touch and we still don't miss him.

Going to be hilarious when he fecks something up in a big game and this gets memed

Unpopular opinion but I have a feeling he’s going to go up another level or 2 in his all round game once he’s fully confident and he’ll be the sort of physical striker we will be missing once Ighalo leaves. I also have a feeling he’ll play very well in the CL and possibly outscore both martial and Rashford next season as we seem to rely on either being overly intricate or on moments of individual quality against teams who sit back. Neither of them are aggressive enough against defensive teams that are well organised. I’m not saying we will ever go for him again but he’s somewhere in between his biggest haters on here and the highlights we see of him scoring every match or 2. I think with Bruno/Pogba behind him and Rashford and Sancho feeding him he’d score so many that fans would have eventually forgiven him his obvious shortcomings. He was definitely never worth close to the money we paid. Very few we sign these days are though....

I could imagine Lukaku himself requested this to be posted, he's very thin skinned to criticism.

It's very similar to that time everyone was calling him slow, so he tweeted an out-of-context speed test result from a single training session to "prove" how fast he was

I hope he mishandles the ball a lot today, misses a sitter or two... and then Getafe scores in the 93rd. Hope I didn't jinx it now...

I'm not surprised, many official team accounts are little more than banter pages these days.

If he plays a role in knocking us out of the EL it'll smart pretty badly, let's be honest, but I can't think what he would have to do to convince me we were wrong to part ways all things considered. All parties really should move on.

Who is that tweet supposed to be in response to? Has the Italian media been giving Lukaku a tough time over his touch, or is this aimed at fan opinion?

I don't have twitter but i'm going to assume the replies were gifs of the hundreds of times the ball has bounced off him like a donkey? Inter really don't help themselves do they.

Something like this:

Or you know. His first touch being so bad he injures himself:

It’s in response to their own knowledge he has a shite first touch having watched him week in week out for a year.

Inter probably correctly calculated that if they didn't comply he would immediately imagine how it would feel to leave the club.

It's not even that good. The genuine technicians could bring down a ball that's fallen 50 feet without breaking a sweat. Inter should know, they've had some of those players. But this...it's fallen from barely above head height from what we can see. How does it even prove anything contrary to the years of shite touches?

And when and how will he reach this higher plane of existence?

He's 27 now for feck sake.

He's still got a terrible first touch. It's not going to be consistently any better at this stage of his development.

Just read the Inter forums — he’s the exact same player. He’s wildly inconsistent in big games; bizarrely lacks the ability to fully take advantage of his size in the air and with his back to goal, and is extremely inconsistent with his touch.

Play him for 35+ games a season and he’ll get you about 16-24 goals a season, but he’s nothing more than a good striker.

I've controlled a football like that. Anyone half decent who's played Sunday league has probably done the same. Cringey from Inter but hilarious to see and I can't wait for the memes everytime he fecks up.

And it wouldn't get anymore attention than a half-arsed "oh, touch" shout from one of your mates. If one tried to bring it up in a later conversation, you'd be laughed out of the pub.
