Covid. Roma wouldn't even stump up 15 million euro for Smalling who excelled there and they wanted to keep. Yeah we need him and i want him here, but Dortmund can go feck themselves if they want 120M for him.
Nothing to do with covid Roma are being taken over they will come back for him soon.

Stay strong muppets as I'm now tapping out, going to go cry in a cold shower while fully clothed like they do in films :(

While most people are just zipping and unzipping their pants, you're talking about Schrodinger's cat...
Is that one of the knobheads that reckon we should sign Grealish, Zaha and Jimenez for a combined total of £108mill instead of spending it on Sancho?

I think the saga stalled when I stopped posting on this thread. Fingers froze with all the tension and full muppet mode.
So here goes.

Thank me later.
I actually think it was my fault. I committed the ultimate sin and watched a ‘Welcome to Man Utd’ YouTube compilation of Sancho’s greatest hits. I never watch them before it’s signed, sealed and delivered but this felt like a sure thing... I’ve only gone and jinxed it! :(

Exactly why I don't know why people are worried? Ole keeps getting what he wants as he keeps delivering what's asked of him.
Club has a history of fecking things up last few years. I think it will get done but wouldn't be surprised if we feck it up

but you fail to see the point: Dortmund have said the deal needs to be done by Monday or forget it. And I will indeed criticise Woodward when and how I want for missing out on targets and still doing nothing about a DoF
Dortmund have said a lot of things, do you really think they'll turn down €120m on the 11th? Or even the 20th? Doing some very quick maths, is easy to work out that Dortmund will not get more for Sancho next summer than they will this summer, even if there's a bidding war next year, it still won't rise to €120m.

When have we missed out on a target? And how would adding a DOF to the process of: Scouts identify player along with manager > manager speaks to Woodward > Woodward speaks to Joel Glazer to get approval to release funds > Woodward and Judge use intermediaries to broker a deal > negotiations take place > personal terms take place > player is signed.

You think adding more steps to that would speed things up?

Checked his stats. Ridiculously good at FWL, FWR, AMC. Sancho adds depth as well as quality. One of the attacking 3 (bar CF) can be rested every game. That’s 33% less playing time for Rashford, Greenwood and Bruno + huge improvement in creativity when Sancho is in.
I don’t care how much we will pay. Just get that guy.

Who says we are? It's not obsessing either. We clearly want Sancho, so work is being done on it. To be honest I doubt there's many backups to Sancho being thought of because we're that sure of getting him.
Well some people don’t seem to understand that we may not be willing to pay 120m during Covid for Sancho. And are crying about Woodward for this.

I’ll be honest having €120 million in the bank does nothing for me as a fan whereas the excitement of seeing Sanhco play week in week out is priceless. I really hope we just stump up and pay, he’s worth every penny and honestly I’d rather sign Sancho plus no one else rather than moving to secondary targets.

Yeah, in all likelihood we're playing in an empty stadium for the foreseeable future with all that entails from a revenue and financial planning perspective.

What price did we pay for Fernandes? And that was pre-covid.

It’s worrying if our whole success is hinged on one signing. Would be bad planning.
But we have dire needs, there are no players in world football who would satisfy those needs better (I.e. if we are talking about any single player and putting Messi aside)

Very quiet today as opposed to previous days. Calm before the storm?

Edit: never mind  Them making contact seems to suggest Sancho leaving is a probability, not a possibility

Quietly working on image rights and agent fees perhaps. It may be difficult in deals of this magnitude and player’s high media profile

I hope this is the case, I guess there’s no target as obvious as Sancho.
What sells more papers? United in for Sancho at massive fee or United in for some lad that plays in Italy for an average club. Mitten was reporting that United have about 4 or 5 back up options that we most likely won't need to pursue (because we'll get Sancho) but they're on the cards should this one not come off.

Theres something in the wages etc i feel. Thats why we’ve suddenly moved fast to clear Sanchez's huge wedge off the wage list

Not when he has been the main target for two seasons and Oles top target and he wants to join and he isn't overly expensive in context.
Its like We should revert to the LVG tactic of spending all the money on as many random shite players as possible

Maybe. But unlike Alexis, Sancho will help generate a lot of new commercial revenue for the club
