Not sure how legit, but it was reported by the Scandinavian United fanclub that on the recent BVB-podcast from the Dortmund paper Ruhr Nachrichten they are now saying Dortmund will extend the "deadline" by another 10 days until the 20th.
This will be another 1000 pages transfer saga for sure.

Not sure whether to take the apparent radio silence from the last few days as encouraging or ominous

I would edge towards it being positive.

I’m sick of negatives, I need two positives, one to cancel out the previous negative and another one just so we can have a positive.

I know I shouldn't, but I did burst out laughing at that...

The only way it doesn't happen is if we don't have £108million to spend, and there were reports we had between £100-150million. If Dortmund is indeed accepting installments for the deal, it's a matter of when and how. The only reason there's a delay at the minute is that we are trying to negotiate a lower price.

I think its over and if Ed has walked away then well done to him . We were totally ripped off with Maguire and we have got to learn from that and stop allowing clubs to screw us over .

If Sancho wanted to come to Utd he could come out and say so forcing the issue but instead its just all about money as per usual .

Enough is enough its time we concentrate on players that actually want to play for us

We got ripped off?

Maguire helped us concede 30 less goals than the previous season. This has propelled us to 3rd in the league, and has effectively earned his transfer fee back from the added income from playing in the CL.

Excellent business.

As for Sancho, let's revisit when the deal goes through. Yeah?

It's widely spoken about that Sancho has agreed terms with us and that part is the simplest part of the deal to complete (if it hasn't already been done) so the idea he doesn't want to play for us is so laughably pointlessly negative I just don't get the point.

Just so you're all in the know.

The journalists are quite quiet at the moment as they are finishing up their breaking news pieces to be published at 7pm tonight.

Dry your eyes mate.
It's top money signings. They're not easy. Thank goodness you're not involved or we would never sign anyone.

Maguire did not propel us to 3rd in the League, Bruno on the other hand. . .

Being an upgrade on the Chuckle Brotgers & Rojo doesn’t make him Jaap Stam.

Him being overpriced & an upgrade can both be true.

Just what I was thinking, thanks for clarifying this to people who don't seem to understand that. He is clearly eager to come. I don't understand why some people expect £108million to be a piece of cake for us to spend on a player, especially after COVID.

What do you get out of being on here? Your posts are so miserable they could make the happiest person on the planet reconsider their feelings.
He's probably sat on championship manager 93 and signing people in a second and can't understand why United don't do the same.

Basically he's out of touch with reality. As per his username!

The problem with that is, we're 3 days away from their 'deadline' and they haven't agreed any deals for a replacment, they've only been linked with Depay recently.
Their deadline is bs. Same as everything else their CEO says during the transfer window.

With Smalling coming back and Mengi starting to get a game for the senior squad I don’t think we’ll be buying a centre back. It’s clear that Jones and Rojo aren’t wanted and will be given to anyone that’ll take them but Maguire, Lindelof, Smalling, Bailly when fit, Tuanzebe and Mengi is us well stocked at centre back.

I’d be surprised if we didn’t go for a defensive midfielder if we get Sancho done in the next week or two with the window open til October unless Garner is going to be given a proper first team run of games next season and Ole is hoping he’ll do something similar to Greenwood this season or at the very least similar to Williams.
To me that is a fatal mistake. Getting a centreback should almost be just as important as Sancho, if not more.

In my humble opinion, getting a top class partner for Maguire will make us one of the best defences in Europe. I like lindelof as much as the next person, but he is the weak link right now. He is prone to errors and gets bullied by bigger strikers.

A title winning team is built from the back. Just ask pep who spent 400m+

If we can sell Rojo, Jones and Smalling for decent money, that could help fund getting a top class CB. Unless of course, OGS is sentimental and wants to give Axel a chance. Huge gamble.

Bruno helped us to 30 less goals conceded, did he? He was excellent in an attacking sense, but without a solid defence, you don't win games.

Look past the goalscorers and creators will you.

Maguire has helped assemble the best clean sheet record in europe in 1 season. We've conceded a whopping 30+ less goals than we did last season. That's the key difference. The attackers then have a platform to go win games.

He's played every minute of every game. He's slow, he has the odd mistake in him, but people these days laugh at a mistake and write a player off. He's incredibly underrated in this team.

I'd lock in 30 less goals conceded it if means he makes 5 mistakes per season any day of the week.

Strange our own fans can't see it.

I agree, we got a bit rinsed with Maguire but he has improved us defensively at the same time.

Dortmund have denied any negotiations with Utd,so no point of them lying if they want to sell.

Looks like the stroppy muppets are out in full force today.
Same clowns every summer.

Lacking the ability to see that every summer there's this huge frenzy that a deal is imminent, then it totally backs off for a couple of weeks.
Then happens.

It's quite obviously not true, a number of reliable sources, including our own journalists, have said we're after a CB. Jan may have some sources at Dortmund for this transfer, though I'm skeptical, but he definitely doesn't have any idea what our other transfer plans are.

Ah, another ITK, I presume? The tea leaves told me this as well. As did my horoscope.

"A relationship with a friend will briefly become rocky (Sanchez), as Saturn aligns with Jupiter, and a new love interest (Sancho) will come on the scene."
Obviously they (the horoscope people) failed to mention that the new love interest will "come on the scene" on the 7th of August at 7 PM GMT, but reading between the lines (as you should with horoscopes), it's obvious they just forgot about it.
