Dembele acted like a huge cock, literally burnt his bridges with Dortmund and Barca still had to pay a ridiculous fee. Those circumstances aren't going to apply here
Why? The fee they're demanding isn't even ridiculous, it's the pandemic that has exacerbated things. Plus, every journalist with some degree of reliability has said that the fee is not an issue, it's the structure. Sancho will not need to kick up a fuss to leave and Dortmund will sell if it is right for them. They're not going to just stick to an arbitrary deadline if the money is right.

Where the grass is greener.
I can't believe people think the club weren't fully aware of his contract situation. Obviously we were, and yet we've been locked in talks for ages. It's all a bloody game.

This just shows how little Romano and other journalists actually know about the situation. They are briefed what the clubs want them and us to know..

To me it seems that we are trying to play hardball but it's just not working. They know we have tons of money and really want the player. It''s up to us to cough up the dough really.

That's funny Fab, looks like it was a real feckin deadline after all. Hope you lot who worship him drop him to at least Tier 2 on your reliability scale.
Err what? If we pay we still get him.

TBF to Dortmund, if he's got 3 years on his contract, it's a fair price.

Exactly, I saw alot of people say because Romano said. Bottom line is his followers probably grew thousands by tweeting about Sancho.

So we'll get him in installments. Fine :)
From some reports (mostly by guardian) it seems we are offering very less upfront and then giving the rest in the next 2 or 3 seasons. If that's the case then I actually fear we don't have much money to spend for this season, which is a shame.

I dont understand! Why you guys think he will join us. The deal is 100% dead. We will not pay the 120 mil. I am sorry to say it.

They paid that fee cos of the Neymar sale though. Everyone knew how much Barca got and hiked the price accordingly. The opposite should be true here where the fee is more realistic.

I'm not upset by it but why do Dortmund only now have a backbone? Pulisic went to Chelsea for £58m. Aubameyang went to Arsenal for £56m. Is Sancho worth double those two to Dortmund? I don't get why they are suddenly playing such hardball with us. We have done business before for Kagawa and Mkhitaryan so it doesn't feel like we have poor relationship with Dortmund.

Well it was nice having the hope that our owners and management were serious about getting us back challenging. Backing out on Sancho is 100% just a lack of ambition and just shows that they're ok with being top 4 challengers at best.

City strengthening, Liverpool already at the top, Chelsea aggressively strengthening... United have to do substantial reinforcements this summer, or else we're fecked next season.

If its true that he renewed to 2023, I would not negotiate anymore and pay the 120m Euros.
Why? 120m is a made up number. It’s not like a player has an MSRP. They might accept less. Might not. Worth trying. Problem is, they hold all the cards this summer.

If the contract really is extended to 2023, we might consider waiting another season of COVID and see who else turns up next summer. Likely more clubs hurting financially and eager to sell players on.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
Another one full of bs and is now backtracking after being left with his pants down.
He is reliable. It’s entirely possible the intermediaries agreed a fee negotiating on behalf of both clubs only for Woodward to decide a fee he told the intermediaries he would accept was no longer acceptable. Sancho pushing for a move is the only way this gets done this year in my eyes.
