I'm going to base this on the Dembele transfer to Barcelona given that we're dealing with similar agents. This might go down to the last day for us. Dortmund themselves aren't willing to negotiate, which is why they have agents representing them. The agents themselves are slow in negotiating this deal presumably to force our hand and make us pay up. In the end, we'll pay the full 120 million Euros; we'll probably be spending the bulk of the time negotiating a favourable payment structure.

Yeah, exactly, this has gone way too far now for it to break down at this point. If we've come to a personal agreement with the player, there's no way we'll end our negotiations with Dortmund unless we want to risk looking way worse. The only way I can see the whole thing breaking down is if Sancho changes his mind all of a sudden or another club comes in and tempts Sancho to join them.

Well, we made that initial offer to the agents. It wouldn't serve our interest in any way if other clubs came in to bid for Sancho (unless you're suggesting that Falk mentioning this is a ploy by Dortmund to start a bidding war).

And that's why they have the agents come in for their negotiations. If they didn't, that'll make their position weaker in the transfer market. At least the agents can slow things down and allow Dortmund to maintain their hard stance similar to Spanish clubs with their high release clauses.

On a side note, I'm intrigued by the massive coverage this Sancho transfer is getting compared to the Havertz one. Yeah, I've talked about this already, but I'm not just referring to the United fans; this is getting a ton of coverage from football fans in general compared to the Havertz saga. I haven't seen someone do a Daniel Harris for the Havertz transfers and offer insider info on the transfer process nor have I seen much discussion from other football fans over the Havertz transfer.
