I bought the last one of these THPS HD or something which was available as digital download only IIRC and it’s now been removed from my PS Library which is bullshit.
That shouldn't be possible. You should still be able to redownload it from your library even if its not in the PS Store

I’ve looked everywhere, apparently there was issues over licensing.

Hope they'll include Mullen's street vids. Perfect motivator before playing the stage.
Mullen is a magician. I had no clue about skateboarding before THPS and I remember thinking the pogo and handstand were just videogame tricks but then I saw videos of him actually doing those tricks and far more impressive stuff.

At 4:50 he's actually skateboarding outside Paddy's Pub!

Pretty much same here, Tony Hawk and Thrasher: Skate & Destroy on PS1 were huge influence way before Skate. Wasn't like Thrasher first skate game were they actually used ragdoll when failing in performing the trick ? Looked insanely realistic, just as the tricks themselves. This game was something else, never even tried to be Tony Hawk. Hard to believe somebody could make something realistic at that time.

Yup, that's Paddy's Pub in Mullen's home city. If Tony Hawk 5 wasn't such a cop out they could include some of LA's areas and I don't even think they invited Mullen to be in that game at all.

My favourite Mullen video. He’s just a kid and it’s absolutely immaculate, literally never misses a beat. The crazy thing is that he invented the majority of his tricks there.

I like this video, just the way he does amazing stuff not for a video part or anything, just trying ridiculous things as they come to him

Makes you think how many cut and bruised shins and knees are there in the lead up to nailing a trick.

Got a skateboard when I was younger during the THPS peak, fell hard twice and said "Feck this."

I hope this is priced similarly to CtR when that released. Remastered versions of PS1 games should never be more than £30 at launch.

£49.99 on the digital stores, so guessing £40 for physical.

Crash team racing was one game.

The article in the OP says $40 and $50 for deluxe version. They’d be royally fecking over the UK if they charged £50 there and only £33 to the USA.

Actually it says those are the world wide available prices. So unless it changes it’s $39.99 or 49.99 for deluxe version.

Sorry, I saw the deluxe for £49.99 on the store. Normal is £40.

After this thread I started craving to play Tony Hawk and found there are rips of a bunch of the old games online. Currently playing THPS 2 and it’s great fun.

Only part that sucks is for some reason the sound doesn’t work when I plug in the PS4 controller.

Telling me that I can’t pre-download the demo because it’s preordered content. Seems like it’s a issue with the EU store, tell them to sort it out @esmufc07.

Demo is out around 3pm.

What did people hate about the 360 remaster?

I've just played the demo for 10 minutes or so and weirdly not as bought in as expected. Doesn't feel quite right to me - a bit weighty (will we be able to upgrade stats? I can't remember which one they introduced that). And it's boring quickly when there's no challenges and it's just the score of the last trick.

But the 360 remaster I loved despite the hate as it's great for mindless fun and the challenges could be a little tricky (wahey) so I'll still probably get it.

But yeah.. was expecting to spend a good hour messing about but picked it up immediately and was bored pretty quickly

Edit: just seen the upgradable stats on the start menu so that probably explains it

The original remaster was way off with regards to the physics of the OG, which is essentially what makes the game great. This new game seems to have captured the original physics but I agree that it feels a little off for some reason. I assume that it's due to the low stats not allowing me to play in the way that I remember. Highest run so far is just over 210k with a 130k, 10-trick combo..

I really hope they have come up with a way to demonstrate Rodney Mullen's greatness. He was probably the worst character in the OG, simply because he's so stylistically different and doesn't translate well into what is essentially a street / vert environment.

What PS1 classic next?

Anyone remember the original WWF SmackDown! games for the PS1? They were fun. Unfortunately, with how wrestling is, you wouldn't get that classic roster in a remake.

Can I still preorder this and get the demo or am I too late?
