By far our weakest area is defensively around Brandon Williams. I'm almost certain that Lopetugui will instruct Ever Banega to attack our left side, and specifically our young left fullback. I fear this set up. If we press high up with our fullbaks then Maguire and Lindelöf will be vertically exposed. If we don't then Jesus Navas and Suso will repeatedly attack young Williams until he's totally exhausted. Maguire and Matic don't have the acceleration and speed to cover if he starts to lose to many defensive duels.

Without Luke Shaw we're a different team both in our build up and defensively. The drop in quality is significant. Let's hope that Brandon has the match of his life because otherwise this game easily can become a nightmare.

I must be truly blessed to not have an outlook on life or anything else for that matter like you currently are displaying .
Good on you being positive but I prefer being realistic, you can quote me on this after the match. I have no doubt we will lose. I have a bad feeling about this game.

Well, given your nickname you kinda need to have a bad feeling about it.

On a more serious note, I don't feel that confident either, just feel it's that kind of game where they either stomp us or we win by some player magic and not by being the superior side.

Have you watched us at all since the turn of the year?

We have one of the most lethal frontlines in Europe. It will be a massacre of they turn up tonight.

It really comes down to which United side shows up today. This is ours to win or to give away. A MOTM-worthy performance are required from Martial, who is now bordering on ludicrously undefendable, and Pogba, who for me still hasn't played anywhere near his known peak even since the restart.

    1-4 United with glorious victory

Pretty much agree with this. I would not be against starting with 3 at the back and dropping Greenwood to start off with, just to offer extra cover for our left back. We can set up to counter like we did against City and Liverpool, with Matic/Pogba both playing deep to help each other out with Sevilla's high press, and Rashford/Martial upfront with Bruno in the hole to spring counters. Whenever one full back goes up, the other drops deep to maintain a back four.

I don't think we will win this. Actually we won't unfortunately. We have a very poor record against Spanish teams and Sevilla has an excellent record against English teams. The only one time we got past was one of the weakest team in La Liga in Celta Vigo which we barely scraped past and almost got knocked out if their player had put away one of the chances. Sevilla is also a ridiculously good team. They finished on same points with Atletico Madrid with only 6 losses and have the 3rd best defence in the league. We're jinxed in semifinals under Ole. Expecting Sevilla to beat us 2-1 or 3-2.
Hardly jinxed, City despite winning 1-3 at Old Trafford were hanging on for dear life at the end at home, and that with a man advantage after Matic was wrongly sent off 15 minutes from time, and Chelsea, a team of similar ability had a grossly unfair 2 extra day rest over United at the time and it showed at Wembley.

Now if we'd got beat by Burnley and Southampton ....

Been ignoring thinking about this game all day, but now closer to the time I'm bricking it! It's one of those I fully expect us to win, but fecking football doesn't work that way.

This is gonna be really tough. We are one of europes form sides but so are they... just saw on twitter they have conceded 1 goal in 8. hae experience of doing well in knockouts although who knows how much that counts for.... going to be a very tough game

The last time we faced Sevilla...and lost 2-1.

Remember Mourinho's presser after the game. "I sat on this chair with Porto and knocked United out. I sat on this chair with Real Madrid and knocked United out. So this is nothing new to this club." The fecker!

We're a completely different animal now. We'll win this easy. 3-1 United.

Not too confident about this game. But that actually is a good sign recently with Ole at the wheel. Better be anxious than overconfident and cocky.

Think we're in for one of those famous European nights in Manchester.

Except it's going to happen in Germany, but that's cool.

Really puts into perspective the work Ole has actually done, in my opinion.

Today's team pic will be full of players that fans love.

It’s fine to think that but Harry > Van Dijk is not a valid opinion.
It´s not up to me to say what is a valid opinion, but that Maguire is better than Can Dijik, sure isn´t one of mine. I´m posting a link to some stats, and automatically that becomes my opinion?

I agree with you, yet also disagree. Whilst Pogba has been restrained, he's also been more disciplined and I imagine that may be a result of 'team orders'.

But I do miss him running rings around the opposition on one of his good days.

One thing, if Utd do win this game I think people need to give Ole and the team far more credit because from what I’m seeing and reading everyone is saying Sevilla are the fantastic. For what it’s worth I do think we could struggle tonight but that could just be nerves, we do have the firepower to hurt them.

Rashford was one of the main reasons we won the Europa League in 2016. Winner in ET in the quarter final vs Anderlecht. Then he got 1 goal and an assist in the semi final vs Celta Vigo.

We badly need him back on his A game tonight but have a feeling he's under orders to play deeper as Greenwood doesn't get back a lot on the right so we can't really afford him to not either.

Unless I’ve completely missed it somewhere, is Rashford an injury doubt for this game? OP has him down as an injury doubt.

Relax lads, we are destined to meet Inter Milan in the final this year. Lets get through tonight then I will check the crystal ball to see how that will turn out in the Manchester United versus Inter Milan thread.

I agree that Pogba has been kept on a pretty short leash and we've produced good results. We may need an unchained Pogba today, who really hasn't faced a top opponent for a long, long time.

Amazing to look back at that team, disliked so many players, absolutely hated watching Fellaini play for us and for me personally, his presence epitomised the state the squad was in at that time.

Completely different now, even if we lose I have confidence in our current crop and am excited to watch them play!
