Didn't see that
Sounds sketchy though he doesn't seem to really know whats going on in details.
He's fine but personally don't see him as some game-changer, basically a fitter, younger Gundogan. Would be good for Arsenal if they lose Ceballos.
He plays nothing like Gundogan not sure how so many people jump at that comparison really.

I think alot of people don't want our squad to end up like the dippers back in the day.

Signing brooks is akin to signing stewart downing. Yet we don't seem to be interested in players like Aouar, because his last name isn't adams.
Is he feck. Downing was a dinosaur stylistically as a winger, Brooks is modern and has more flair than Downing ever had.

Welcome to the caf, never watched a player play.

Saw 2 games of Auorar and we should sign him.

Auorar is a brilliant player, he will want first team football, his position is being filled by Pogba and Bruno at the moment, if he is willing to be a squad player then fine but Brooks is a RW/CAM which is more of a requirement than CM/CAM

I think Aouar could be a great part of the squad if we bought him, but like you say, he only really fills 1 gap where as Brooks can potentially fill two. The Stewart Downing comparison though...

Happens when you dont watch football. He has had a bad injury which is why we haven't heard about him this season, Bournemouth really missed him this season.

Aouar and Partey is over 100m surely? Wonder if they can afford that.
Could get both of them for 85-90M and they would become a force if they get both.

These 2 in midfield with Pepe and Willian on the wings with Abumayang and Martinelli upfront looks like a feisty 4-4-2 team.

Anyone think with these 2 signings, their front-6 will be more balanced and better than our front-6 ?

Surely Pepe and martinelli is yet to prove themselves - not just in this league but generally, to receive that sort of adoration? They’d have a very strong midfield though, if they signed both.

There will be a lot of outgoings this summer. Reckon Lacazette, Bellerin, Torreira, Guendouzi, Sokratis, Kolasinac. Potentially Holding, Chambers and Elneny as well. Reckon that is £100m+ worth of sales.

Who knows if we will manage to sign both or even one for that matter. The club needs to back Arteta though and I don't think Arteta is here to just secure top 4 finishes, need to aim higher.

I think you’d be lucky to get more than 10 mill for anyone other than Laca, Ballerin, Torreira and Guendouzi. I also think you’d be lucky to manage to shift them all on. It’s not a sellers market this summer.

I actually like Arsenal, Chelsea and United's approach. They know top 2 cannot be immediately challenged but slowly building a young team that will grow and challenge in couple of years time. We just need to see if their current managers can actually keep up that pace.

Laca - £25m, Bellerin - £35m, Torreira - £25m, Guendouzi - £20m. I reckon ballpark those are around kind of figures I think we'd sell at. I agree it isn't a sellers market and we probably will have to consider less. On the other hand if sell for cheap we could potentially buy on the cheap and buy while other clubs are not active.

There seems to be few real reports linking Laca anywhere. Rumours that PSG bid 25 mill for Bellerin and that’s it’s currently being considered. Torreira I’m not up to speed with on any rumours. And Guendouzi has Valencia offering loan with option to buy for 16 mill and Arteta saying he would be given a clean slate.

In regards to buying cheap - Partey has a release clause of £45 mill that you just have to pay. And Aouar will probably not go for cheap either with most reports pointing to around £54 mill.

Raising 100 mill in sales is incredibly difficult in this market.

I agree raising that kind of money will be very difficult.

I don't think Aouar will go for that kind of money if no other clubs make a move for him. Lyon aren't in a great financial position having missed out on CL and with other clubs not spending big they'll struggle to find many clubs at that kind of price. Same applies for Atletico, they've taken government loans which come with conditions. I think they're interested in Lacazette as well so I think there might be a possibility of doing some kind of deal.

I should add the possibility of us getting both is very slim to none!

Wonder who’ll turn out to be a better singing Aouar or Donny.
I think Donny will be a surprisingly deeper player than Aouar.

It's what makes Donny versatile - he seems to pull off time on his passing the deeper he plays whilst the closer he plays to goal - the quicker and shorter his passes get with quick turns and runs and or goals.

Comparing them is a bit different because Aouar is more a technically creative player but that is all he is ever going to be.

Might just be the biggest coup of the window if arsenal get him, given their positions and all the other factors. His quality is undoubted. Might just be the only window in which they can strike for him.

I just don't understand why Barcelona aren't in for him. Would be a much better signing for them than Wijnaldum.

Absolutely. If we can't get him this window, our chance will be gone. Bigger clubs will come back next summer and outbid us.
I fear Atletico madrid are fecking with us and wasting our time about Torreira so we can't either get Aouar or activate Partey's release clause. If they haven't made a move by next week, just sell him to one of the italian clubs and procede with our target.

Looks like the ball is starting to roll faster in regards to Aouar and Arsenal. He wants to join Arsenal and now it's all about the fee.

Can't see us getting both Partey and Aouar however....I'm hoping we can ship some of the dead wood out but we are struggling.

Would be really happy with this signing, especially if we get him for below 45m euros. A steal.

You should still be happy even if you only add Aouar, brilliant talent. I'm actually surprised you are the only club after his signature, Covid factor? And if Partey also goes to North London Arsenal would have to be solid favourites for top 4, maybe even more.

Why is the supposed fee suddenly so low. I thought Lyon chairman was known for getting good money for his players.

I don't think many clubs are after a number 8. Barca don't need him nor can they afford him. The top 4 don't need him and Juve apparently backed down for some reason. The covid crisis really shows the financial muscle of the EPL so Arsenal is the way to go.

With the Messi shit show the La Liga is over. EPL will dominate for the foreseeable future. Even Everton are pulling global players now!

Arteta is targeting the correct profile of players and if he signs them all it will greatly help him press high with CBs that look to have the ability to defend high up the pitch in isolation to thwart quick attackers.

Arsenal have to offload to fall within their quota limit. As things stand they are already over the limit for non-homegrown players. I suspect they will not register Ozil and Guendouzi to create space.

They have zero monies in the bank. They lost 70M and had to get Morata via a loan first even after slashing a lot of contracts. City could have been an alternative but they are clearly about to blow most of their budget on a CB. so everything is aligning for us

Talk is we want to sign Partey as well which would be unreal business, our midfield has been dysfunctional for too long. This would completely turn it around.

Guendouzi counts as U21 so no problems with him. We currently have 18 foreign players, I'd expect Torreria, Kolasinac & Sokratis to leave at minimum. Possibility of Mustafi & Elneny going as well. I think part of the hold up right now is trying to get some of these guys out.
