This only shows incompetence. If you can't get the signing done then move on to plan B(is there any?). What's gonna happen instead is we do jack shit until Dortmund says feck you, we drop a few points in the opening games prompting woody to go all in with his scattergun.
I do wonder what role Ole plays as well. Has he given the club top class targets in lieu of Sancho, or is it the likes of Costa and Brooks? (Sounds absurd compared to Chelsea's 3) I didn't absolve Mourinho for his targets and I think one has to look at Ole and give him credit/criticism too as needed. Hopefully we'll be doing the former for both individuals come October.

I would like to think his backup targets were the likes of Dembele or Coman on loan maybe even Traore because may well need to pull the trigger

Kepa n Jorginho was 2 summers ago not one. Pullisic was also 18 months ago but joined 6 months later.
(S)He said two years. 2018 was two years ago. Otherwise (S)he would have said that they didn't buy anyone last summer.

Thiago Silva is 36 and semi retired when he joined PSG. Chelsea have cheaped out on one of their two major problem positions.

Where the grass is greener.
Bit baffled if they get Chilwell so cheap.

Silva looks a great signing due to his name if thats whats sways you, but with his age and coming to the PL for the first time, he's far from a sure thing success.

Are you blind? Already signed 2 players, Chilwell all but confirmed and 2 more looking extremely likely. We on the other hand cannot afford Sancho so as usual nothing happens.
Bear in mind that Chelsea has a 2 transfer windows worth of cash to burn due to them being banned.

Are you really asking if Ziyech is an upgrade on Willian/Pedro? Wow.

Chilwell is a LB. Azpi is a RB.
I partly agree on Azpi, he hasnt been so good going forward out of position but still been good defensively, though not as good as on the right.

On Ziyech, Pedro obviously ageing and Willian may be inconsistent and ageing a bit too, so there is that. They are still quality players though, the way you asked the question, you obviously think he is miles better than both I take it? Personally not sure if you are under rating the current players or over rating the shiny new signing....he is a good player, no doubting that, you havent just signed Ronaldo though you know, I dont think he is any better than the two you have apart from having age on his side, time will tell.

I meant the 'complete' in the last sentence. Should have bolded it.

Yeah that was 2 years ago.

When somebody said what did you do 2 years ago do you go back to 2017 then?

Chelsea have loads of cash this summer, a lot more than us. And our fans are having a meltdown over it.

Why would i go to 2017 when that's 3 years ago ? I don't understand your question or the point you are trying to make.

I was merely correcting someone that said they signed Kovacic only the last two years. which is incorrect. They signed more players.

That's not me having an opinion on chelsea, i couldn't care less who they signed. At least before the transfer window closes. The players we are trying to sign are different, different salaries, differents selling clubs and so on. it's normal that it would take time. the window is open till october so plenty of time to finish the work.

Ziyech is miles better than Willian and Pedro. Pedro barely saw the pitch this past season. Werner dramatically improves on both Willian and Pedro as well. Azpi is awful when played as a LB which he did a lot because Frank doesn't fancy Alonso in a back 4 or Emerson altogether. Chillwell, an actual LB, will be a considerable upgrade.

Honestly, I think our biggest question mark is how the midfield looks in the center of the pitch. Kante & Kovacic? Kante & Jorginho? It's a mystery.
Not sure how you can say that when Ziyech has been playing in the Dutch league. Loads of players have flopped coming over after being starts for Ajax or PSV etc. Not to mention he was playing with De Jong, Van De Beek, De Ligt, Tagliafico, Onana. It’s one of the most stacked Ajax teams in the last 20 years.

He looks a good players but who knows if it’s all gonna work at Chelsea.

There is a stat about transfers which says something like only 20% are considered a success. On paper Chelsea look to be doing some good business but it could equally end up with Ziyech and Werner are kept on the bench by Abraham and Hudson-Odoi.

Agree. People need to put down the game controller as that's not how the real world works, and when it turns to shite, you can't just press the restart button. On paper, that Liverpool midfield should amount to them winning nothing....

People need to understand that Chelsea is the only club not affected by covid as the virus doesn't spread on plastic.

Too bad it's not happening. Juve already struggling with the burden of Ronaldo's wages.

looks like he wants to come to us over Arsenal but we are not really interested.
Absolutely he would want to go to manchester united over Arsenal. Would be in our starting line up and are back in the champions league. While Arsenal are in the europa league for the 4th season in a row. If he goes to Arsenal then we didn't want him.

Been clear along we don't want Gabriel, sadly what is less clear is who we do actually want outside of Sancho which has completely stalled for weeks. We could do with some good news at the minute.
But this is how every transfer window goes. We should be used to it by now.

If we do get Sancho it will be on deadline day and for 150 million. And Woodward will be acting all Billy Bigbaws about it.

Would you prefer to get Badashile now or wait it out until next year for Upamecano just out of interest
If I may give my 2 penneth, I don't know who's better, but if Upamecano is the preference, we could get Piqué (would be pretty cheap) for now and then get Upamecano next year.

So Chelsea will have made more of a rebuild of their team in 1 window than what it's taking us over 3 so far, pathetic, our club is run awfully from the owners to the manager.

No, but Barca, following an embarrassing defeat, seems to be actively looking for a centre back, and it may be the case that Stones fits their (Koeman's) profile of player. They've also been linked to that Garcia lad at City, too.
Was koeman his manager at Everton? All the players linked have been players he’s worked with

Which top class CB's are available, though? That's the problem.

Willian is a good player no doubt. One of our better performers last season. But he scores single digit goals and single digit assists every season. In his 7 years here he scored fewer than 40 goals I believe. Just not good enough. Assuming Ziyech settles quickly (and yes, that is a question mark) I don't see how he isn't a serious upgrade. He's considerably more creative, a much better passer, and is just as good, if not better than Willian at shooting.

Again, it's not really worth talking about Pedro because he didn't play meaningful minutes.

If it was just the Dutch league he dominated I'd say you have a good point. But he performed excellently in the CL as well. Was top class against Real Madrid, Juventus, Spurs, ourselves. Plenty of other very good European sides as well.

Of the signings we're making I actually think Ziyech will hit the ground running the fastest.

Messi and Ronaldo as teammates would be interesting
Messi and Lukaku would be more interesting. Not for the football but the countless pointing compilation videos that would be made. Can't see Neymar being happy if he were to move to PSG. He basically left Barca to get our from behind his shadow. Would love to see Messi in the PL but that's probably the last league he'd join with Germany being a close 2nd.
