Yeah that's a good point. I think of vdB as some kind of little boy because he looks like he's just about started shaving. I really should stop that though, so thank you .

What I will say is that I'm particularly excited about vdB's technical prowess, because it's something I feel we've been strangely starved of post-Fergie. Even Van Gaal, who was known as a technical coach who wanted his teams to pass the opposition to death, ended up with a team lacking in comfortable ball-players in advanced areas (apart from the likes of Carrick and Rooney on their last legs and Mata on the right). Post-Jose we've now got Pogba, Bruno and hopefully vbB to arrive, which is a huge improvement in that department.
I would say he’s nowhere near as gifted as a Bruno for example, he brings different qualities. Don’t get me wrong though, he’s technically very proficient. Just less of a flair player, more Germanic like efficiency. He plays high tempo. He’ll give us handy options both when the bus is being parked or on the counter. But we have more flamboyant players in the squad.

Absolute power moves by Ed. Getting someone like VdB not even worth an official announcement, just gone and done it, straight to the squad. Watch this fecking space.

He also called Maguire a good lad
Surely you must be joking. That's what I thought and searched up on the net.

"Harry's a good lad & I look forward to seeing him when I get back to my club."

He did say it.  He must be fitting quite well in the squad.
I get that vibe of a really young child/kid doing adult-speak from him.

Yes! Please can the endless jokes and insults about millions and millions of our country literally never, ever end! Beyond how clever they inevitably make you look, it's the perfect way of showing the very tollerence that we all know is so unique to remainers.
Ohhh struck a nerve I see. Well fret not because myself and the other chap were just having a bit of banter. I’m so over brexit now that I’ve got Covidiots to moan about. You’re not one of them are you?

Yeah I'm certainly not saying vdB is a flair player, just that he is good technically and can move the ball quickly and as you say efficiently. Obviously I'm aware comfort on the ball sounds like a low bar for a potential United player but considering the amount of times it has become quite embarrassing to watch us try to move the ball around post-Fergie I like the look of our current collection of central players (plus vdB) more than I have in a long time.

Yeah no idea what's the hold up. Perhaps we have ask him to play an instrument or do a dance for the official unveiling and he's practicing it
Maybe the medicals take a bit longer due to Covid?

There are quite a few transfer deals that took quite long although they were/are agreed earlier. Bellingham, Havertz, Volland, Thiago come to mind immediately.

Looking at some of our current players, I'm not sure how much of a jump he'll get. Bruno has only 2.6m. Pogba has an insane amount, but I feel he had an insane amount coming here. I was surprised Frenkie De Jong has 7.2m which is more than everyone not named Pogba, Rashford or De Gea, because I would of thought we would give players comparable jumps, and De Jong and Van De Beek have a ton in common (same nationality, same age, and both going to big clubs).
Bruno was sub 1M before joining. And VDB has already gotten a jump. Although I don’t know by how many since I didn’t check pre reports but looking at his IG comments it’s mostly United fans

His IG is at 1.2M and a substantial amount of those are United fans.

wonder how many he's going to be on a week after the announcement. United is a great stage for players.
He had around 40K followers on twitter when the news broke around 30th Aug, now he has 118K. Almost tripled in 2 days.

Next people on here will claim that we can easily recoup transfer fees by increased IG/twitter followers.
United will always give lot of coverage for players.

You'll find many people in here that will say Maguire doesnt live up to his price tag and that AWB is limited offensively and will ultimately need to be replaced.

The only non debatable one is Bruno to be honest.
Can't account for those people, maybe they should watch properly and not just moan at everything.

This signing could be the game changer for us.
For the first time in ages we will finally have "quality" options.

I should preface this by saying I don't give a shit as I'd rather have the Glazers money on the pitch than their bank.

Do we have the most expensive midfield ever assembled?

They love us in Holland don’t they. Everyone’s been asked about it, and they’re all saying how marvellous it is.

The nerve was already struck. That's what happens when half the country turns into intolerant brats and proceed to spend years making assumptions and abusing millions of people.

I certainly don't consider myself a "covidiot" no . Not least because I appose the weaponisation of language which only serves to alienate and prejudge people and to shut down dissent. I also would lose a little self respect if I was so quick to buy into things spoon fed to me by think tanks and spin doctors, so I prefer to treat people with a little basic respect.

We haven't announced anything yet so I don't think theres a lot he can say, beyond a vague ramble that is.

I just say his press conference and when the question was asked twice he just said it to move on to the next question. This is what he said but the context was he was asked multiple times and he tried to ignore it but when asked multiple times he just mumbled something quickly and moved on.
