He is already being criticized enough. He made a mistake. Which people can identify with immaturity because of age. He got kicked out from the team, the club has obviously talked to him and made him apologize. All people are suggesting is to move on.

All that's happened is that he'll miss a friendly against Wales, Southgate has criticized him publicly, United wrote a PR statement for him. Then there's been some critical newspaper headlines, and some people on social media has criticized him. That's it, almost no repercussions and yet that's probably enough. Still that's way way too much for people.
I'm not going to chant anything, except if someone creates a funny one. There should be some potential. But, again you're doing what I said. Where did I indicate anything of the sort? Exactly nowhere, I've even straight out said that the reaction that has happened so far is probably fine, yet you have to fantasize about what I'd to because criticizing Greenwood for breaking the rules that make international football even possible is just too much for you.

I don't think there is an overwhelming majority out here who are saying Southgate went too far by dropping him or United went too far by making him issue an apology statement, if that is what you are suggesting.

I think the lack of judgment and disregard for the rules is not a good look and hopefully this doesn't lead to even more issues down the road. I take it as a blip on the radar and a lesson learned by the lads, hope it stays that way and doesn't turn into entitled foolish behavior in the future.

Id be more upset except that even politicians have disregard for the rules they themselves put out. Seriously its just football where politicians who break the rules are complete hypocrites.

If I had stacks of cash and girls at the ready every time I picked up my phone would I do the sensible thing? Kyle Walker is older than both and he was having orgy parties during lockdown. Its not whataboutery, its a question of showing even grown men aren't always able to do the right thing so don't expect teenagers to behave like saints.
I feel like England did finally play some good football under Southgate, the matches away to Spain and Germany especially seemed a breathe of fresh air compared to what we've had recently under Hodgson/Capello and the rest.

England does have a bit of a hole in CM and we need somebody that can carry the ball/break the lines. Grealish would have been perfect but he only wants to play him as a wide player.
I can see what you are saying but we've seen England play well in low stakes games in the past. Its difficult to determine how much it means to the opposition until there is something riding on it.

Think it needs Ole to take him in hand a bit, we know how he dealt with J Lingz infamous video and as far as I'm aware he hasn't done anything since.
He's had quite a rapid rise to "stardom" so perhaps it's gone to his head, however he needs to be shown how he needs to behave or how what could be an excellent career could be affected- perhaps the same with all the younger players.
Does he have a good family around him? Id also try and get one of the senior players to try and get close to him so hopefully he can spend more time with them rather than bad influences. Rashy or Bruno or similar.
I always thought we tried to be quite careful with our handling of him, not letting him do interviews etc.

It does seem like he is abit out of control .... these incidents may be normal in normal times, but we are not living in normal times. Also, one side affect of being an 18 year old footballing prodigy is you have give up some things all other 18 year olds can do. That's part of the deal.

As soon as he was called up to England, he lost all the protection that United gave him. He is fair game to the English press now and if he doesn't handle himself properly they will always be a thorn on his side. He could do well to look up to Rashford who has turned out to be a wonderful human being campaigning for social justice. You rarely get Britain or England United but Rashford has struck a chord with the British public. When you get Liverpool Football Club tweeting their support for a Manchester United player you know you are special. Rashford should be Greenwood's role model. If he ignores that he will regret. We have all seen it before. Talent alone means nothing if the attitude is wrong. You are either Marcus Rashford or Ravel Morrison. Not a hard choice to make if you are Greenwood.
