Best thing for United would be for Greenwood to never have to go away with England again. It’s a daft thing to do but they’re kids aren’t they, I can’t imagine getting worked up over it like some in here.
Some people actually want England to well and hey, even if you don't support England wouldn't you still want a player you like to shine on the international stage? Even Fergie wrote in his biography that he wanted the England Man United players to do well at international level. Albeit not against Scotland.

I just hope people in here are as consistently hard on themselves as they are on 18 year old, famous, athlete, millionaires.
Give the covid thread in the Current Events forum a read and see what people think of those that aren't taking it seriously. The criticism is way harsher than the mild criticism Greenwood has received here.

These lads are 18 going on 12. They live in tracksuits, they've got no life experience and their every need is catered for.

Honestly don't think we can expect any kind of awareness from them at all.

I wonder how many of those cool souls playing the 'we all did far worse at 18. Only a kid. Lads away from home' line experienced their biggest rush of adrenaline ever watching a ski jumping or F1 competition.

Most people on these boards or on the internet in general are usually just a bunch of hypocrites. They love riding on their high horses pretending to be bearer of moral. They just prowl around on the internet, social media waiting for any bit of controversy so they can get into the outrage and behave as hypocritically as it gets through the nonsense they write.

Needs a firm hard slap, just like SAF did with Giggs and Sharpe after their infamous house party night out.

It does seem like he is abit out of control .... these incidents may be normal in normal times, but we are not living in normal times. Also, one side affect of being an 18 year old footballing prodigy is you have give up some things all other 18 year olds can do. That's part of the deal.

Whether he likes it or not, he is an ambassador Solskjaer's Manchester United who wont tolerate such abuses during this covid19 era.
Exactly he has a few "simple" rules to follow for the benefit of himself and his team. He could risk affecting our season if he picks it up. He is earning probably a decent amount of money and has the potential, given his ability, of injury permitting hopefully a good career. Surely it's worth a few "sacrifices?"
He needs to realise he will be in the spotlight a lot more and because of that be more heavily scrutinised (not that he should only follow the rules because of that) so he needs to toe the line as he's a representative of Manchester United. If his performances start to drop on the pitch and you get stories coming out of him getting up to stuff he shouldn't off the pitch he will invite even more scrutiny- look at Rashford getting told to concentrate on football when he's doing charity work that probably deserves him an honour even....

Do we know if he has a good family around him? Hopefully they and the club can help work together to get him back focused and remind him of his responsibilities. Sir Alex would be perfect to mentor him, I'd like to think Ole will handle him well as well.
Hopefully he can spend some time with the stronger role models of the dressing room such as Bruno, Rashy and dare i say Mata if he stays and they can also help.

Bit of a weirdly specific thing to spend your time wondering but each to their own I suppose.

He's 18. And in terms of maturity he's even younger.

Greenwood is 18 and those Iceland women are unbelievable.

He made a mistake, its not a big deal and move on from it. If the Virus wasn't here no one would have battered an eyelid.

Yea he should have realizing but sure he won't make the same mistake again. Its not a big deal whatsoever.

Live and let learn an 18 year on international duty for the first time.

He can ride anyone he wants, its just the virus that fecked him up.

I think it could also be that most people on these boards would absolutely love to have been in the position they were or are in and can appreciate how fecking amazing it could be compared to the boring 9-5 and would no nothing to feck that chance up and would apply themselves 100%.

It frustrates then when seeing players do dumb shit as if they don’t appreciate what they have. I know for sure if I was in the position to play for my country and it was my first call up, sure as shit I wouldn’t be doing anything to jeopardise that, the fluff could wait till next week.

House parties and sex at 18!? What is the world coming to

I miss the 90’s... oh wait
Were the 18 year olds making millions annually and breaking quarantine rules during the worst global pandemic since the Spanish flu? Didn't think so, but continue with your fallacious comparisons, by all means.

Playing as a full professional, with a contract, as a senior pro for the biggest club in the planet should and does come with responsibilities befitting the aforementioned status, rather than the carefree life of a college/teenage nobody.

Greenwood's behaviour is definitely worrisome despite what the legion of hardcore, tru fans (TM) in denial want to convince themselves and the club needs to stamp this immaturity out of him before his career falters because of it.

John Stones career has been utterly destroyed at Man C entirely due to his chaotic personal life, Kyle Walker has similarly regressed because of it and I shouldn't have to remind everyone about Rooney and his escapades, and how the club was affected.

In 2020, you need to be fully and entirely committed if you want to make it at the highest level.

Do you think it's a coincidence that Liverpool's stars like VVD, Mane & Salah aren't in the mail twice a fortnight and how consistently they are performing at elite level? Don't think so.

The daddy video was very cringy and showed poor judgement on Mason's part, but once you can forgive. The house parties and risking the entire NT by bringing in Icelandic insta models on his FIRST call up? Please.

Rashford's been dating the same girl for 4 years (an honors student with a successful career I might add) and if you don't think this has positively contributed to his success, you're delusional. If you are living the party life, your career will suffer. Stop making excuses for the players and demand they commit or get out.

This is Manchester United - our players aren't 7/11 part timers and should act like it. Have some class ffs.

You're right, if the virus wasn't there then he wouldn't be criticized for the think he's being criticized for. The virus is the whole point, come on ...

I dont know man.... not having an animal instincts of having to bone someone whenever wherever, obeying work / group rules, adhering to work and foreign country protocols are basic decency of being a human regardless of age.

Foden is a cnut for doing the exact thing greenwood does. But greenwood is 18.... lets give him hug and kisses.

Being 18 is of legal age in most countries. It doesnt make you the paragon of decency. But you're at the age where you should start thinking with your head

There seems to be a narrative that it’s ok for England footballer’s to bring random women back to their room when on international duty and that COVID-19 is the only issue. This is plainly false and untrue. Southgate is the manager and sets the rules. According to him:

“We talked about a Covid breach. Initially that was what we needed to take control of. We had to act quickly. What’s emerged since means that whether there had been a Covid situation or not we’d have been sending the players home anyway. Everybody else needs to understand that’s not going to be tolerated within an England camp.”

So to all those saying ‘he’s only 18 and it’s fine to feel horny and act on it’, you’re wrong:, it’s against FA policy.

Is this supposed to be like the Cantona line about seagulls trawlers and sardines? Regardless, if you got your biggest adrenaline rush ever, watching ski jumping or F1, then you need to re-evaluate your whole life and possibly see a therapist about how weird you are.

Who honestly gives a flying feck once he doesn't do it again.

A mistake was made but it's a complete over reaction.

He'll learn from it. Hard to refuse those Iceland women so hopefully doesn't put himself in the same situation again.

What's the latest here anyway? Did he have to quarantine?

It's about time we all got behind Mason and support him through this.. He made a bad error of judgement and he's been punished for it so hopefully he will learn from it.. I know some so called supporters that will never be happy unless we lock him up in stocks and pelt him with rotten fruit & veg.

Kids rock. While older players pay thousand pounds for whores, they call couple of girls in hotel, have sex with them and girls even pay the room. Well done boys, well done. :)

He is a young talent having a pretty remarkable debut season. Watch how tables will turn and his attitude will be questioned ('fame got to him') if he hits rough patch this season.

As for the action, it is somewhat understandable, but still feckin dumb and should be judged as such. This being his first call for the national team makes it even worse.

He's 18 ffs, not 13 or 14 and representing his country abroad with strict restrictions (which he would have certainly known) because of Covid.

It's extremely immature and stupid.
Only in England this is a big deal.. jeez.

He should be fined for letting someone film his degenerate behavior.

Not a fine for the drug use, a fine for being so dumb to do it in front of someone holding a camera

Cant decide if its stupidity or supreme confidence in himself being a potential great talent. a bit like young Rooney, zero fecks given
