Can't help but figure that Neymar will also want out at the same time after spending 3-4 years there and coming nowhere closer to achieving his goal of winning ballon d'

Liverpool can’t afford Werner never mind Mbappe. I think Real or City and maybe us depending on how we do this season.
Can Real afford him?

Unfortunately I see City going all out for him.
Madrid is the obvious one but I could see him at Barcelona to replace Messi, who could well go the other way to play a few more years at an easier pace.

City will be in for him as will we, and hes definitely going to leave. Think he knows he's wasted in France.
I might be very wrong but I see very very slim chance of PSG/Qatar selling him to City/UAE.

Me too, Barcelona were willing to go to court over preventing Messi from going there and they're not a Gulf oil club. Can't imagine that Al-Khelaifi would oblige easily to selling him to a direct Gulf rival.

If he goes to England, it'll either be with us (if we ditch the pandemic excuse in regards to spending large sums of money) or Liverpool to replace one of their near 30 y/o front 3. As much as I hate to admit it, I think most top players nowadays would relish the chance to play for Klopp quite honestly

Mbappe probably realises that psg wont let both go, so he should get out 1st. Probably sensible

Smart on his part because I suspect you're right, they'll want to have at least one of the 2 still on the books to be a mascot for the PR tour and build up to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Hypothetical, who would entertain a deal for Mbappe that contained Pogba?
Why would we get rid of one of our best players in a different position to bring him in? Surely a team with Mbappe and Pogba in it would be better. Think a bettter question would be would we sell Rashford to accommodate him.

Nailed on Real. Only a select few could afford him and one of those already has him so really only leaves 4 options in my opinion. Madrid, United, City, Chelsea.

Nailed on for Real.

They’re financial strategy is clearly centered on saving and earning cash this summer and splurging next. They also already have slimmed the wage bill and several of their biggest remaining earners come off next summer too.

People often misleadingly lump them with Barcelona in terms of financial issues but they’re actually in very good shape (at least pre corona).

I would not be surprised if they buy both Mbappe and Haaland.

Not sure we need Mbappe as much as Pogba, if we get Sancho this summer?

Was thinking the same really. And can Liverpool even afford him when they're struggling to sign Thiago for £30m?

Also Mbappe can 'look to leave' all he wants. But PSG don't need to sell so they may just tell him he isn't going anywhere.

Wont stop people from making hypothetical threads dreaming to sell Pogba ,now will it? Anybody who points that out will be "fanboys".

Totally agree. Liverpool would need to sell Salah or Mane for a Coutinho level fee, which I think is also unlikely. The next problem will be wages. While I’m sure United will be linked heavily, I doubt we’ll actually be in for him having hopefully splashed on Sancho by then (but who knows).

Mbappé has to be odds on to stay at PSG, unless he is willing to take a wage decrease. City might not even be able to get him, as they’ll be busy cooking their books to accommodate free transfer Messi next season.

Real seems the most obvious choice, but even they seem skint. Who knows in a year though.

Big players haven’t been able to get themselves out of PSG to date. The likes of Neymar, Veratti, Thiago Silva and Marquinhos have all batted their lashes at other clubs at various times and it hasn’t gotten them anywhere. Not sure this’ll be any different, particularly when, even allowing for FFP, I suspect PSG would force him to play out the last two years - on his current wage - unless he signs a massive new deal.

We are a tier below in terms of quality right now of what he should be aiming for if we're honest.
Big reason why I hope we manage to get Sancho in this window because I could easily see us out of the race for either of those 2 world beaters in the making, Mbappe and Halaand, early on next summer as presently constructed

Yes, to attract quality, you need to add quality.

Even if Liverpool sell Salah or Mane they'd struggle to raise enough to sign him.
They're probably sitting on a bit of money at the moment after being relatively quiet in the market since breaking the bank for VVD and Allison. With they sale of one of those attackers I believe they'd have enough money to sanction a buy like Mbappe on the off chance he doesn't end up in Madrid.

Real will get one of him or Haaland, and I think we’ll throw our hat in for the other.

Qatar won't sell to Abu Dhabi, so he won't be going to City at least.

Covid situation will dictate what happens

Things being the same, i don't think anyone bar City would be able to sign him. Otherwise it's either real madrid or barcelona. For the simple reason that nobody in england will offer him upwards of 1m a week...

Most likely Real bound (if he leaves), but I hope we at least enquire. Doubt it if we manage to get Sancho though. One can always hope.

Champions League football gives good money next year, the commercial aspect of Man Utd generates £100M+ a year and if stadiums are allowed to have limited capacity next year it can happen.

Even with Sancho.

United can get a CB and a big 100M player next year, United is literally the richest club in the world without financial doping.

@Klopper76 posted their finances in another thread. They're not really sitting on anything.

Perez will take a loan as usual to sign him, there’s no way he’s letting him go anywhere else. I’m pretty sure that Mbappé has told multiple times that this is his original plan as well.

If he somehow goes to Liverpool though :nervous:

They'd have to win the league this year, compete heavily in the CL and sell Firmino and another player and somehow fit his wages into the equation and keep him inline with other players for it to happen.

We would also have to sell one of our front 3 (Rashford, Sancho, Martial) cause they won’t be happy to be on the bench.

There are a couple of French players that some may think are Madrid bound but it's likely that they can't afford any of them given they had to pull out of VDB deal.

Most likely yes, but it depends where the squad is next year, for Mbappé it's not exactly a bad thing to do.

That ship is so far from even docking or sailing though, so right now its purely fantasy and isn't worth discussing.

One good aspect of both being on the market at same time is that very unlikely one team can afford both.

Although I can’t see from where Spanish teams will generate the funds required to sign a mbappe.

So hopefully we have the ability to convince Haaland to join us.
