I really like Williams and Shaw has been in good form recently. However, I really hope we are keeping an eye on this kid.

Ive seen him three times since the restart and he’s look brilliant every time.

What’s your thoughts caf?

He's playing on the right, not sure why we'd want him for left back.

Looks like a very talented player. It already appears to be a good decision to leave Chelsea despite them wanting him to sign a new contract. It will be interesting to see how he develops - he's very short though!

And he's a right back by the way

We have our own version in Ethan Laird that has even more potential.

Does look a class though.

Was very annoyed he left us. Was always the most impressive player in our UYL games. It's a shame that him and James are both right backs.

Didn't he leave Chelsea because they told him he'd need to switch to left back if he wanted to make his way into the first team?

Yep he's looked very good in the Brighton games I've seen since the restart, can see why he left Chelsea though when he has the apparent Cafu reincarnated in a similar age bracket who himself isn't even first choice

It’s getting increasingly frustrating that England continue to produce so many promising players, but all in the same position  The right back spot is getting silly now

Like the good old days when we had lots of right midfielders and no left wingers and so played Scholes there instead :D .

Reminds me of Antonio Valencia in his prime. Acceleration and crossing extremely good, also incredibly hard to beat one on one. England depth at the right back position is scary.

Full back still remains the position where the most bargains could be found. Great piece of business by Brighton to get him early and cheap.

Edit: Assists as I typed this

He’s brilliant and an assist now.

Laird is older than him and hasn't been given a sniff of first team football. It's unfair to call him a better prospect solely based on reserve team football.

Just said in the match thread he looks a decent talent only to then find this thread. Been very good today.

Been arguably the best player on the pitch. Quite sure that he'd be bought by one of the bigger clubs for a massive fee within two seasons

Chelsea (the saviours of football) fan.
He's been excellent whenever I've seen him be it for the Chelsea youth side, the brief time he played for the first team and now for Brighton.

Kinda annoying that he rejected a contract extension with us but gotta respect him wanting to play. Hope he goes all the way to the top (well, 2nd behind Reece James anyway).

Lamptey has had a great break out and been better than most expected. Laird is a genuinely huge talent but injuries might stop it before it even gets going - that’s the danger with getting excited about youth.

Lamptey was excellent at youth level too. Despite look 12 years old he plays with loads of fire and drive in the seniors. Looks to have the right mentality for top level football.

I rate him don’t get me wrong, you’ll see posts above from me saying he impressed me lots. Laird could have a similar output for us.

You're not dropping AWB anytime soon, are you? I thought he's been a really good signing for you.
Not dropping, but AWB can’t play another 60 games again this year the poor lad was out on his feet towards the end of the season.

He’s been lined up as the heir to the RB position for years at united but he’s struggled to get any consistency due to injuries
