For me, United can still save this transfer window by signing Koulibay or Upamecano + Sørloth.

So grealish has signed a new contract at Villa, Dortmund already talking about Sancho's price tag rising next year (when others will be in a better place to bid). Utter feck up by MUFC. But it's OK we are being linked to two teenagers no one has ever seen play. Long old season ahead. The board should resign in shame
They can talk all they want. Another season with no spectators (at least for most of the season) and a disappointed Sancho doing his best to keep up his motivation playing for them. More than 120 next summer? I seriously doubt it.

Reguilon going to Spurs looks like, don't see us doing anything now. Season starts in a few days for us, 2.5 more weeks of the transfer window. Only thing that could spur us into signing someone is somebody getting injured once the season starts imo.

Considering the lack of spending, I wouldn't be surprised if we finished outside the top 4. Only way we finished in top 4 is if we toss aside all the cups and play reserves in them so we don't kill our starters. Otherwise injuries will come really quickly, and the quality will quickly go down. No competition for places, no cover for first 11 players apart from random youngsters. Not a great place to be heading into the season. Starting 11 is good when all are fit, but you can't have just that. It'll cost us before long.

I've no problem in missing out on Bale as he's another Sanchez waiting to happen. But the fact that we appear to be looking at Perisic and Douglas Costa as alternatives to Sancho is a massive joke. What exactly have our scouts been doing if they're our best alternatives?

I have asked this question a hundred times.

absolutely this.

The financial effects will be even more prevalent in the next 6-12 months. Just wait till they come out with interim results. It’s going to be a bloodbath for some clubs. Especially ones that rely on gate revenue.

Still think we will sign another player or two and it would be smart to wait till near the end of the window just to see which clubs can really turn down big money when waved at them.

The shop is shut, we aren’t spending another penny.

Get ready for the ‘oh well we tried’ bullshit we’ll get when the window shuts. Pogba contract extension 2 days later just to hold back the criticism. So obvious.

Not sure this is the window Pogba was expecting, although it would just be like them to make him the highest paid player.

Looks like we are going to put faith in the youth instead of splashing the cash, if they are good enough then this doesn't really bother me

Yes, a Crystal Palace benchwarmer will really get the pulses racing.

Koulibaly is no longer flavour of the month. He’s too busy hanging out with Sean Longstaff and Ryan Sessegnon in the passé footballers hall of fame.

Looking increasingly likely that VdB is all we are bringing in. On top off that there appears to be little effort to move some of the stale squad on. Should have kept Chong if that was the plan!

I think this is it folks. No Sancho and Reguilon is probably going to Spurs. I'm ready to bet our market is over, unless we start the league poorly then there will be one more buy.

There's two and a half weeks left in the transfer window. UTD almost always do late transfers. I think they'll continue to try to get Sancho up till next week. If there's no movement by end of next week, then I'd start getting concerned.

The worst part is we will panic and spend 40m on Brooks and then some on King.

Still 3 weeks left, expect business but we will only panic buy in the last 48hrs of he window. It's how Ed loves doing his business.

I just don’t get how we always manage to drag things out to the very last minute. What’s so hard about identifying targets early, work on an agreement with the clubs before the window opens and be ready to go when the window opens? Why is it made to look so disjointed by United? Every season

Pogba won't and should not sign a new contract after this window. That'll leave us selling him for half his worth too. Geniuses run this club.

I feel like we entered this market on the belief the squad is good enough based on the end of the season and the target will be on getting Sancho and that's about it. Of course, we couldn't afford him and now we looked a little bit lost in what to do anymore, so yeah there's a good reason to belief we won't do much more business this summer. Just hope it won't backfire.

I'm not sure we have the money to do that, at least that's what seems to have held up moves like Grealish and Sancho. A few journalists even said we weren't willing to meet Madrid's asking price for Regulion at one point too.

Couldn't say I'd blame him if he chose to leave after this window. Things looked promising at the end of last season but seeing our rivals strengthen, even those who haven't significantly strenghtened, has got me feeling concerned as we've really just stood still.

It was good enough to get into Top 4, but not good enough to win trophies, we all know the priority. We do not have the depth to succeed over a long season.

The thought that we're going into another season, after CL qualification, with Jones, Mata, Lingard and Peierra is downright painful. I'd have expected at least two of them to be shown the door.

This where paying out millions in wages to worthless players really bite you on the bum. Lower wages they might have actually got a bit of money in.

I really think the general thought in the club was that we finished 3rd and had great run after Bruno and Pogba, so yeah all well and good, just add Sancho and that's it. VDB seems to have come out of nowhere and otherwise, there doesn't seem to be any other plan bar signing Sancho this summer and now it seems dead.

A large proportion of the problem is that Woodward loves the clicks, whether it is twitter, news article, other social media platforms. This is why stories about United ""leak" to the press and the press then have a field day, twisting the initial leak and giving fans the impression of how useless United are in the market.

Having said that, there is undeniably historically some level of incompetence. We seem to regularly fail to get the manager their targets. LvG, Moyes and Mourinho all talked about it and Ole didn't get Bruno until January and it nearly cost us the CL place. This is made even more baffling by the fact that Woodward identified a need to restructure the youth set up and by and large that has been very successful. Yet we seem unable or unwilling to restructure better our first team recruitment and negotiation.

Selling players is also problematic. We reward averageness with high contracts and the most baffling decision in the 7 years since Fergie left was awarding Jones a new contract. I still cannot work it out - I cannot formulate any argument which makes that seem a logical decision.

Maybe we will get the CB, LB and RW equivalent of Ighalo on the last day of the window. That'll just sum up the board

Which as I mentioned above, we could have actually sold players we might have had enough to buy VDB and Sancho. Wonder why we can't shift anyone?

It's insane. If i was Pogba or Bruno, i would not stay if this really happens. It would not show no ambition to win anything - other than just playing CL football

Is the reason why we’re baulking at paying for players to improve the squad because it will reduce the dividends taken out of our club to be trousered by the Glazers?
