What should we do for the right wing if we don't get Sancho in the upcoming window?

We will sign Sancho in January when we are 11th in the table knowing us for what we could have paid for him now.

This is becoming a bit concerning to be honest. We simply can not play Rashford, Martial and Greenwood week in and week out, PL, CL, PL, CL, FA, there's just no way. The least that we can do is add depth, I wouldn't mind another Daniel James signing if we don't get our main target.

Been thinking about our transfers and how we are trying the change our attitude towards making the right choices, within wage structures, player attitude ect. But also the balance of star signings like Sancho and some good money ball moves. I did a quick transfermarkt search for other european leagues to sus out youngsters racking up assists in around the continent. Obviously nothing new. But found some interesting players and one that popped up was:

- Marcus Edwards, always abit of a prodigy, playing in portugal now. Right winger. 7 goals 9 assists. Highlights look tidy. In that Sancho mould (but by all means hes no proven Sancho) but he could be something!
I've been surprised this summer he hasn't had a Prem team come in for him. Villa, Everton, Newcastle and Southampton all have weak RW options and some money. Maybe Everton too big off of a decent season for a 7th placed team in Portugal but I dunno seems like a Southampton or Brighton buy to me.

There's no chance of getting him, but Saint-Maximin would be the obvious choice. We desperately need to add more 1v1 dribbling ability, creativity and invention to our attack - especially against low block teams - and he ticks every box. His final ball and production have improved every season so far...and there's nothing to indicate that he won't have another big jump or two.

On a similar note, Jeremie Boga - who's comfortable on either flank.

I think this is a good indicator of the type of players we should be targeting:

I wouldn't mind Sarr, some people will laugh at the idea but i think he is a good option.
Very sensible I think.
For me, if United fail to sign Sancho this Summer, then there's no chance of getting him next year.
He's likely to be in a bidding war starting at €150M and the likes of Barcelona, Madrid and even Liverpool could be in the game.
United won't pay that, and I'm not even confident that we'll have CL football to offer either.

So for that reason, I think it's nonsense looking at short term loan deals for ageing players with questionable commitment and dodgy injury records, may as well accept that Sancho will never play for United and look for a long term solution.

Who do you reckon is top of the Sancho alternatives list, reckon it's Bale but maybe it's someone not linked to us at all so far

Liverpool can barely fund £30m for Thiago. Where is the money coming from?
Barcelona wont spend all that on one player, given the many holes they have. Madrid will go after Haaland.

Couldn't care less anymore. It was Sancho or bust for that position. Only Fati would be a suitable alternative and he is clearly not for sale. We fecked up. The one signing we had to get done.

Would be happy with Traore but he would be expensive and it might mean no sancho in future. Coman on loan if possible would be my other choice. Saint maximan too but he’s more of a left winger isn’t he.

My opinion is that we go for a lethal striker and try Rashford & Greenwood in that right side position and move Martial on the left side. That's my opinion

Who is available? Ole spent last year building up Martial and he seems content being the #9. Would be mad to change his mind now. I agree we need another striker as backup but not someone to displace Martial unless he’s better. Back to my first question. Who is available that fits that criteria?

Salah or Mane to Barcelona.
Both have expressed an interest in Barcelona, and apparently Salah is Barcelona's top target and will be valued at well above £100m.

Why play Rashford on the RW when he is clearly out of position, even Greenwood is out of position on the RW, and also move Martial back out to the Left when he wants to play centrally and has done well??.....Don't understand that logic at all.

We dont play with wingers anyway. All 3 are strikers and play as wide strikers. We should look for a LF young/ish striker who can cover Martial and the left side. You would then have Rashford Greenwood Martial for the right and Greenwood newbie for the left with all of them able to cover centre. We had a chance to get Pulisic and Martinelli in before they went to Chelsea and Arsenal. Calvin Stengs LF striker off the RW, Jeremy Doku would be a pure RW as hes right footed. We could probably get either one around £30 mill, and theres others out there.
Sancho isnt coming so this should be a priority now, more than LB, which we seem to be dithering about with.

You guys love a good meltdown to the point you just write anything to make things sound desperate.

Liverpool in a bidding war starting at 150? Seriously. And for what? To look at a positions occupied by Mane and Salah?

Barca have their financial issues this year, been burned buying players for 100+ million with one being from Dortmund and you think they'd go out there and try to do the same again.

Real Madrid who have been widely reported that they'll focus mostly on Mbappe and Camavinga next summer would be looking to bid 150 for Sancho?

Truth of the matter is nothing much will change next year in terms of clubs with concrete chances of signing interested in Sancho. The same was said last year about multiple clubs being in for Sancho and yet we're still the only club showing strong interest and I don't see much changing next year.

Sancho is most likely to return to England. Liverpool don't have the money and don't need him given they have both Mane and Salah. Chelsea are well stacked in attack while Pep doesn't want him back at City. We're practically the only club with the money and strong interest in him to make it happen next year.

And he won't cost more next year than this year. So the 150 talks are pointless.

Loan Bale or Dembele if we don’t have to contribute much to wages. Gives us a year to prepare another bid for Sancho. God knows we need it. Bale could have declined but he should still be at a level where he. An be rotated with Greenwood being first choice.

Bayern have taken advantage of these kind of loan deals with James,Coutinho & Perisic.

I`ll take your points on Barca and Madrid seriously especially if Barca manage to keep Messi but Liverpool are very likely to get a big offer for one of Mane/Salah maybe from PSG when they let go of Mbappe and they`ll defo have the money for him. As for Chelsea Pulisic is injury prone and CHO with each passing year looks overrated if none of the two sort out their problems they`ll 100% be in the running for him and if Sancho has a good season and EUROs and the market settles he`ll definitely cost more money he`ll have 2 years left on his deal which is ample time to get a big fee. It simply won`t be any easier getting him next year especially if we were to miss out on top 4 which is a genuine possibility with our thin squad

Sign depth if we aren’t going to buy Sancho.

For the RW:

Sarr
Bale (Loan, Madrid cover half of the wages)

A short term option would be my guess until next summer when it's Sancho time again. Who this option might be i have no idea, but likely a relatively cheap one. It's good to have long term targets and it would be stupid to spend huge money on alternatives that are of way lower quality.

I'm more then fine with a full season of development for Greenwood given how well he played last season but he does need some back up.

And kill Martials confidence again? It’s pretty obvious Martial loves being the number 9 and is our best player for it.

Surely we won’t go into another season without a recognised right winger?
I think there is every chance that we will.
Even the likes of Sarr & Brooks are being quoted at £40-£50 Million, and I'd hope that we won't panic into spending that kind of money on players way below the capabilities of Sancho.
I think it's likely to be Greenwood, and Lingard given another season to prove himself..?!

Is anyone really surprised we won't get Sancho. This is the same pattern each transfer window now. We will never get to the top again with these leaches.

Under a tree.
My options:

1. Sancho
2. Bale on loan & try Sancho again the next window
3. Same as above, but Dembele on loan instead
4. Same as above, but Perisic on loan instead
5. Adama Traore
6. Brooks
7. Sarr

If we buy someone that's not Sancho, I preferably would like them to already be accustomed to the league, hence in why I am missing out someone like Chiesa

Leon Bailey? He has been linked to Tottenham for around €35m which is about half of what was being asked a year or two ago.

Bailey: 7 goals 3 assets in 33 matches
Diaby: 8 goals 8 assets in 38 matches

I really like the look of Diaby.

The problem would be that Leverkusen now have no financial need to sell having sold Havertz. With Diaby only having been there one season maybe Bailey is the more likely to leave and he seems to have been linked to the PL recently with Everton and Tottenham.
