Pogs and Bruno are not a pair without a proper player that knits it all together. Sadly that player just gone to Liverpool
You need to stop playing FIFA so much if you believe Thiago Pogba and Bruno will make a good midfield

We've seen this story many time now. Instead of our 'most talented player' dragging us through our tough patch and driving us on to victory, his head seems to go, he tries to do it all himself and gets subbed.

The fact that Pogba can turn it on and off just drives me crazy. And the most frustrating thing about him is that he's basically irreplaceable from a talent point of view, such a unique player. So to see him churn out average to poor performances for 70% of the time is just so frustrating.

Is it time to let him go? Or is it a case that the deep role is nullifying him? But is he better in the 10 role than Bruno? I feel like the time for these questions has come and gone, and it's just tiring.

Just get rid of him. Been here 4 years now and lets be honest, he's had a handful of genuine top class performances (that lasted a full 90 minutes).

He was shit today. He’s Good player but he’s not an elite player. He’s good, that’s all. He was shit today though. He’s Doucoure / lo Celso level

Will put his performance down to lack of sharpness given he's only trained for a week, nothing more nothing less.

Consistency is Pogbas main problem and it is his main problem because he cannot work hard enough. He cannot push himself. The odd time he gives a 9/10 performance. More often than not it is a 6/10 performance.

We have been basically arguing for years the same thing. I personally would let him go cheaply, say 60 million. The last thing i want is that in two years time we are still arguing over Pogba. That is my fear.

World class for us for about 4 months in 4 seasons. Rest of time he's been like today. A waster.
This. I wonder could anyone do the stats from his rated performance after each match. I imagine it would be five or six out of ten most of the time.

You have not seen many footballers obviously, doubt you have seen all in our team then.

If you think a footballer can be fully match fit after a week of training then are you sure this is the right sport for you..

He needs to get match fit based on this match.

I'm a season ticket holder for over 20 years so you are chatting nonsense. If you think I'm talking about one game then again you are mistaking. He's been bang average since he came to the club and I hope he is sold when we can get some decent cash for him

Best case scenario is PSG, who are the only team that can really afford him in the current climate, want a French a player for their brand and come in for him
Or Atletico want to do a swap for Saul....

I fear him and his agent are going to want a massive pay rise to sign a contract extension or will just wait out the current one and ending up leaving for free.

Show pony and a typical highlight reel player. There's no doubt he's very talented but I honestly don't think we'd miss him.

A very disappointing performance today. Hopefully it’s just down to match fitness and not match indifference.

I would let him go cheaply, say 40/50 million.

I remember reading about Ferguson selling Beckham to Madrid for cheap enough money and he reasoned that doing that, he was making a statement to other players in the team: "If you are not doing it, you will be gone ASAP."

My fear is that in two years time, if we retain Pogba, we will still be having the same arguments as we have been since we signed him.

Tbf i think this one might be on ole. I had a mild covid mid August and still feel a lil weird, like lethargic, tired after doing my normal activities, not even back to sports.
VdB should have started.

I'm taking today's game out of my thinking here...

There's no doubt that Pogba is a fantastic, talented player.

The only problem is that he's rarely fantastic for us. Quite often during these last four years, and a bit like DDG over the same period, the mistakes and the poor performances nullify the moments of greatness and the good performances.

Why are these purportedly world class players not showing it with us?

Id rather play Thiago than scott mcfeckingtominey thats for sure.

Id also like to point out thiago is miles better than both pogba and fernandes.

We didnt need to play pogba in this game. Fred or donny would have been better. He looked lazy and off the pace. We all knew palace would be sharp and work hard - playing pogba was a disaster waiting to happen as he simply cannot work hard enough. Shambolic display from him again

Has he not been match fit for the last 4 seasons?

He was atrocious....again

Think people are finally wising up to the fact hes been bang average for us and hes living off false hype. Hes never going to be world class or work hard enough.

We wouldnt miss him in the slightest if he was sold tomorrow.

Worst player for us today. Just his worst level of performance. I hope he can step up and find his highest level more often this season.
Very bad start and should probably be dropped for next game.

It's weird, we bought DVB so that he wouldn't have to play so soon after catching COVID.

Yet, Ole starts him, and then we blame the board for not providing Ole with signings; meanwhile Fred and Matic are nowhere to be seen. None of it makes any sense to me.

I'm not sure why everyone always has to preface their criticism with this statement.
I dont think he is fantastic or talented as a midfield footballer at all.
He is a tricks show pony. Makes for great YouTube videos. Not much else.

Regardless, looked unfit and tired today, but I think that is covid19 related today. OGS shouldn't have started him.

I’m not really sure that’s the case at all. He’s barely trying any tricks, nor was he when he came back last season. He’s being pretty safe positionally, and actually quite boring to watch. There’s certainly not any YouTube highlights reels being made. He couldn’t even get close enough to the box to have a shot last season.

He definitely gave the ball away quite a few times just before coming off, which says to me that he tired quite a lot in the second half.

Well I DO think he's a fantastic and talented player and am entiled to my opinion, as we all are about any player.

Did I follow that it with a criticism? Is it not a fact that his performances FOR US, on balance, haven't been what we expected when he signed?

You said ‘there’s no doubt that Pogba is a fantastic, talented player' which is a very definitive statement.

I have doubts. So that means your statement can’t be true.

First couple of games after lockdown he looked decent but I am nearly out of patience with him.

If we could get £50m for him it might seem like good business. Problem is we struggle to buy players so it would probably weaken us.

I think subbing him off every time he’s playing bad is worth a try for half a dozen games, see if we can wake him up. If not, Sell! In January, if anyone will take him.

I think there is a talented MF player there, but that becomes nullified because he does not work hard enough. He cannot push himself. He was outworked by the Palace MFs today and hence we lost the MF battle.

I agree. I think we should sell. That is based on his performances since he has came. Mainly bad with the odd good ones.

If it's actually based on his form for us, nobody would actually call Pogba a world class midfielder.

His poor games for us far outnumbers his decent performances easily.

Assuming he doesnt sign a new contract we will have to sell next summer anyway or risk losing for free. At that point 40-50m is good business.
my one thought though is that he will need to put himself in the shop window this year and play really well or he wont end up where he wants so it should be a win win. If he doesnt perform theres no way the likes of madrid come in

I've always thought he was the type of luxury player that can make a great team better, but falters when he has too much individual responsibility. His shortcomings need too much masking and we don't have players capable of that.

I gave up hope a while ago already that he would still show us all what all the fuss was about and why we brought him back for such a huge fee.
I would sell him to PSG or RM if they want him, but I fear our board will be too proud to do this and will offer him a new mega blockbuster contract.

We should have sold him ages ago.

No doubt we’ll string this nonsense along for years to come with shit performance after shit performances. Constantly bitching about how to set the team up around him when it’s clear for everyone to see he’s the issue. Get someone who actually fits into a system and doesn’t require everyone else to do his job for him.

Lazy on the ball. Believes the hype. If he was Scottish he would play better as he’d have less smoke up his arse

I will never buy the arguement that Pogba is a world class player. A world class player for me has to not only be super talented, he also needs to be consistent and be able to take the game by the scruff of the neck and make things happen. A world class player can elevate everyone around them. You see this with the likes of CR7, KDB, Messi etc. Let's stop debating if Pogba is world class, he's not. He's a good player on his day and has the potential to occasionally throw in world class performances.

Surprising to see him back so quickly after contracting COVID. Same level of performance as last year and continue to not see the point of him in this role.

Thinks he is so much better than he really is. Believes the hype himself and doesn't realise that he's way, way off the mark.
