what position does he play and what kind of player is he?
In the Madrid academy and where he stood out the most was being "mediapunta", offensive midfielder, but I think that in Leganés he played sometimes as a CM, technically very good, and with great physique, running a lot in games.
He is also very good with free kicks, at Leganés he scored some good goal

Was wondering about him, was scrolling through the latest Spain squad and saw him listed as Real Madrid player (then realised he was at Leganes on loan). Yes could be another very smart Sevilla pick up.

Big one for me this season is Valencia. Could they actually get relegated? They're selling anything good that moves currently and the morale in squad must be pretty low. Reminds me of the Neville/Prandelli/Paco Akyestrian period when they seemed to win about 3 games in 12 months.

One thing that will help them is BCD as Mestella would be going mental with what's going on.

Yes, I think he is a very good signing. There are even people who have been surprised that there is no buy back option.
Madrid are selling a lot this summer. Preparing for next summer or because they are really suffering with the covid.

People in Valencia are very fed up but they really have no alternative.
They are caught in Lim and Mendes, in that game of agents in which more and more clubs are falling.

Now maybe they will sell Maxi Gómez , signing Mayoral, and perhaps the next ones will be Paulista and Kondogbia.
Recently an ex member of the board filed a complaint against Lim and Mendes for money laundering.
Really right now it seems that it is the only thing that could make them leave the club.

Although initially they have returned to the 3 substitutions, they have rectified and there will be five

They lost Rodrigo, Parejo, Ferran Torres, Coquelin, Garay and Piccini (+Florenzi and Jaume Costa loan ended). Cillessen was up for sale, but is now injured, so this might be difficult. I would be surprised if they don't sell at least one more starter. I think Maxi Gomez is going to stay and I am not sure that there is any market for Cheryshev, so they might have to sell Kondogbia. They haven't bought or loaned any player at all so far. A lot of youngsters are going to get a chance, but thats just not enough even if they get 2-3 good loans/free transfers.

Their finances were absolutely fecked by previous debt, corona, missing international football and a squad that was paid to play CL/EL. Their finances must look dire even after gutting the squad.

They also kicked out some of their supporters from rooms in the stadium and the fans will probably go to war with Lim before the season even starts. Their Nou Mestalla has been a disaster since the financial crisis. A few days ago their president (Murthy) told the mayor that they don't have the money to resume the construction to the agreed time. Valencia tried to sell the site of the current stadium to finance the new one, but their buyer backed out of it. Its not clear that anyone would be willing to pay enough to finance the completion of the Nou Mestalla.

To complete the drama, there is also a lot of mudslinging between Lim and people previously associated with Valencia.

Their finances must look dire even after gutting the squad. We'll have to wait and see how their squad looks when the season starts, but they might be truly fecked.

Atlético had closed the signing of Chimy Ávila 5 days before his injury(he broke the cruciate again, but in the other knee).
Simeone phoned him after his injury

Valencia's first game against Levante just started. They are starting with two youngsters, who havn't played first team football and are 1:0 behind after 45 seconds.

Odds, that they get relegated?

Doesn't the Valencia owner also own most of Salford City? I may be wrong. Interesting if he's in a spot of bother financially.

Surely they must be favourites to go down - Gracia recently gave an interview that painted a very bleak picture. Everyone is for sale, they're not likely to go into the market and replace people. The marketing plan for the club - under this ownership - was relying on selling one big player a season whilst always qualifying for the CL :houllier:

Had a look at their first 11 and it was still stronger than I expected. Gabriel at the back is still there and he quickly equalised. Gaya. Kondogbia, Guedes, Wass and Maxi Gomez are all still there so that's a decent core of good quality although you'd suspect 1 or 2 of them could well still move on in next 3 weeks. Man Utd Vallejo with two goals who I presume is one of their talented youngsters.

Good win for them despite all the negativity.

Madrid accept Zidane´s decision and Jovic will leave on loan.
I guess he had to change his mind in the last few days because I think at the end of last season he said that this year he would have more opportunities.
Apparently he prefers Mayoral, who was going to be sold.

I've been watching Odegaard all the time. He's done well, but a bit shy. Trying to make few mistakes and rather following up on what Modric decided.
Sometimes they seemed to get in the way a little bit.
Rodrygo tried the 1vs1 in some occasion. He seemed more confident than last year.

La Real always gives Real Madrid a good battle home and away. Looking forward to hopefully David Silva coming on second half.

A pity the cross to Benzema in 25min got intercepted

Not sure where the goals will come from?

Debut for Marvin Park

Well that was a bad start. Seems like the attack will still be an issue, and we didn't even defend well

Ref was atrocious. I just can't accept a ref motivating not sending off a player with "i didn't sene off your player earlier". Basically admitting you deliberately made a mistake and now you're making another to balance things up

Defending will be easier if Valverde is starting for Modric, and Casemiro as DM, though, that means no CAM, so, Ødegård out wide? He isnt bad there either tbf.
