Hopefully will be given a bit more chances this year. He was brought as a backup and should be use more to give Martial or whoever will play upfront a rest.

Definitely needs to play in the League Cup and find a few minutes in the Premier League or our front 3 are going to fade by January.

Looks extremely immobile.

I have to say I enjoyed when he first came, but I can’t say I be sad if we never saw him play for us again.

Pretty poor today. Did nothing against one of the weakest teams we would face this season.

Over reaction by some on here, he was feeding of scraps today and at times completely isolated. Eric's balls out to him were crap too....

Never going to be the type of player to excel with poor service, which made starting him a bizarre choice.

Aged 10 years during the lockdown. We need to be in the marked for a CF right now.

How people are giving this guy more than a 2 in the player ratings is absurd. Didn’t do one good thing in that game and had the first touch of a virgin.

Exactly. Ighalo is a box player. Nothing more. He's never going to pick up the ball in the channel, beat a few men and score. He made decent enough runs but the ball moved so slowly while he was on the pitch. He was chasing shadows.

It was a loan terminating level of performance. Shockingly bad today, and it was against Luton reserves.

Poor performance from Ighalo. Struggled to hold up the ball, or indeed win it in the first place, then too many poor touches in the final third, denying him opportunties to shoot.

That's not far from his level, it was an odd move and the bounce/buzz of it made him look than he was.

Lockdown wasn't in his favour

Agree with these. Pre lock down he looked a great backup
Since then he hasn't and this is probably the reason we didn't see him much even in Europa games when needing a goal until very very late

He scored a few goals when he came and had a nice Disney Plus story so some got gassed, but he's been playing in a bum league too long, he's cumbersome and offers little to the type of football we are trying to play, it's been obvious for a while that Ole wasn't keen to use him.

Sadly, not even good enough for West Brom at the moment. Can we not end the loan early?

Poor guy hasn’t played a series of competitive games in many months, and was provided zero service today, so I’m not sure what anyone expected from him.

we know he’s generally not good enough and he is the definition of a squad filler, So being harsh on him makes no sense.

how I see it, he played which means we could save the legs of Martial and we won so the decision to play him was successful.

Don't know what happened to his form.
He showed some good things when he came in, February, loved his game against Derby.
For now he is just the ghost of himself, that's very sad, thank God we have Greenwood who can play everywhere upfront.

And to think, we maybe missed out on Osimhen because of Ighalo. Someone who probably has 20x his talent.

Just not good enough, unfortunately for him I think we need to replace him. I wonder if we can find someone like Giroud's at Chelsea last season, someone who doesn't mind to sit on the bench all the time but when needed to start or come on as sub step up and save the day.

It's as simple as that. Lockdown or not, Ighalo has never been good enough. We deluded ourselves into thinking so.

I think for a team with no European comp or Europa league before quarter final stage, he might not be a bad option on the bench. But we are in CL now, he's not in that level where we can hope this guy can do something to help us imo.

Pretty hard on him to produce, working with the second string players like Lingard and Mata. He definitely has lost his touch compared to when he first arrived. Had a good first touch and looked sharp the first few games he played. Then covid happened and Ole started playing him less when we resumed. If ever we're two or three up Ole has to drag Martial of and give him some precious game time. Show some confidence in him. It also would not hurt to show Martial your willing to drag him if he goes into sukey la la mode; which we know he can do.
