What a team these guys are. Maybe they’ll tail off again but they’ve certainly started wonderfully again. Jamie Vardy is simply sensational.

On a side note though, I’m surprised it took this long for someone to make this thread. They are top 2, let alone 4, challengers for me.

Great team... I think they dont have enought quality in depth up front and in defense to be a real contender, but they continue to prove that on a good day with full strength they can beat anyone. Jamie Vardy's record againt the top teams is just incredible.. His consisency in scoring goals over the years is ridiculous.. I think many would have suspected him to be a one-season wonder after their title year, but he has just been so consistent. Legend!

Looking at them, you just see a team with a plan and everyone in the team is following that plan, acting as a team... What a difference with looking at United yesterday...

They are a good team but they aren't good enough for top 4 let alone top two.

There is no bottling.

They have a small squad and will fall apart when they have games midweek when Europa gets going.

Also, they won't get 3 penalties every match with the same routine - play the ball in the space behind the defenders and fall at the slightest contact.

If they can improve their squad depth before the window closes, they can finish third.
Top two is asking too much from a thin squad.

It s too early for that. They like to bottle it out in the last part of the season
Maybe they won’t fizzle out this time?
Wasn't there lot of disparity between their underlying stats and actual results when they were flying in the league last season and many predicted their downfall which was also compounded by injuries to their key players.

Such a misunderstood term. If a team loses, they bottle it, If they go on a bad run at the end of the season, they bottle it.

Leicester are a good team, and are a bit streaky. They are also clearly very reliant on Vardy. Doesn’t mean they bottle it if they don’t sustain great form.

Missing key players and they'll go kaput

Ndidi injured
Vardy injured
Maddison hasn’t started a game.

Ricardo, consistently best player for two years, hasn’t played a game.

Evans didn’t start our first two games.

Ndidi played CB first two games and didn’t play today.

Under hasn’t played yet.

We are bidding on new players still.

Top two, no. Top four, the chance is there again.

They were pretty close last year, so no reason they can't challenge for top 4 this year.

The youngsters (especially Tielemans) look a bit more mature, Vardy is still the same old Vardy and they've added some pieces, most notably Castagne (who was great again today).

Castagne looks like he'll be a great player for them. Really like the look of him.

Looks like the top teams will struggle with fatigue and recovery playing 2/3 games a will while jostling in European competitions. If Leicester bin off the Europa League, they have a great chance of reaching the Champions League next season.

After last season who knows what will happen.

But I can say this, we sold Chillwell, a player who I always considered average. Brought in Castagne who is clear quality, we will be lucky to avoid getting offers for him next summer, and the current replacement for Chillwell is a cheap young player called Justin, who as it turns out is a nice upgrade over the 50 million player we sold, his overall game play is just better. I am still at a loss though how we couldn't buy a win for the 2nd half of last season and now we scoring goals for fun again. Seems too much for two player changes to make that much of an impact.

The problem this season is Arsenal will improve on last season, yourselves will improve, so its an even bigger ask to make the CL. Also we in Europe now, so results will probably drop off when that starts.

I also think Rodgers is a very good manager too. battle hardened now too. You'll have a great season.

Justin is just backup, It will be Ricardo on the right and Castagne on the left when Ricardo is back.

Every year i underestimate them. I will do it again. They can beat anyone but i don't think that they can reach top4. But they work as a unit which is nice to see. No top stars but still hard to beat. Rodgers is doing excellent job there.

I don’t see them having a better season than last one. If Ole doesn’t finish above them he will be sacked.

So far I think we're set to be a better team that last season. Castagne is as clear an upgrade on Chilwell as you'll ever see. It hangs on Ricardo coming back to full fitness, how long Ndidi may be out and if we get another CB in.

Tielemans looked an absolute treasure on loan, last season it never really happened. He looked slightly over weight and was a shadow of what we'd seen. In three games so far he's put together more consistency that he showed last season. He's the sort of player that can elevate a team to new levels.

Plus, Rodgers has learnt it seems.

It's not the be all and end all if we don't, it's always going to be the cherry on the cake of any season if we got top 4. But the inconsistency of the big six is still there from last season it seems, so who knows.

Still very tough for Leicester, EPL has so much competition now to compete for the spot. Still too early to say it at the moment. Unless if you give up with Europa League, just purposely losing in the group stage and got knocked out then there is a chance again. A squad depth is important and you don't have enough quality in that aspect to perform for full season. Fatigue could disturb player's mentality.

And yet I still think he’s better than Chilwell, and I think you’d say so too. On his showings this season, he doesn’t deserve to be displaced by a Pereira who won’t even be match fit having not played in ages.

Are we going to do this every year?

Two matches in and we're only a handful of games away from United will be relegated and Leicester will win the league.

They will not challenge for Top 2.

Oh for sure you have a chance and you have every right to be optimistic as a Leicester fan but I still do believe this Utd squad is good enough to finish above as we showed in that final season run. As I say think Ole this season has to go out and prove these things as fact and if he can’t I don’t see how Utd can keep him on.

As a Leicester fan, I definitely am not getting my hopes up yet. Far too early to draw any conclusions. Plus we're pretty much the definition of "streaky" (I think we won 7/8 in a row in the first half of last season, then ended up with about 2 wins in 10) and we seem affected by confidence more so than most other teams. When we're good, then we're really good, but find it difficult to get out of a slump.

The one thing I will say though is that Timmy Chestnuts is a far better player than Chilwell. Great signing yet again. In fact, I'd go as far to say that we have 2 out of the 3 best Right Backs in the league

As things stand with United’s recruitment they have as much chance as United at making top 4. Liverpool will be top dogs then comes Everton, arsenal, Chelsea, United, Leicester and maybe wolves all challenging for the other 3 spots. So far, inconsistency is king.

I know they had a bad game, but it's bold to say that Man City will finish 8th or lower ;)

Edit: Spurs too, now I come to think of it.

That Belgium fullback for 25m seems like a brilliant deal.

There is value in the market if there is a good scouting team.

Is Harvey Barnes any good? Can't figure him out, watched Leicester about 5-10 times with him starting over the last 2 season and still can't work out if he's decent.

They'll do well to get top four this year. Last year was their chance, and I don't think not getting top four is a poor season. They need to keep building and slowly join the elite over the next 2-3 years, so up there with Spurs/Arsenal/us and consistently finishing a significant amount ahead of the chasing pack such as Everton and Wolves.
