This will be a short thread. Good player, don't think he's ready for the Prem just yet, but very talented. Hell of a price for saint-e

They have made a hell of a lot of money from selling teenage centre halves in the last year.

Hasn't played a whole lot for Saint-Etienne. Third centre back they get top dollar for after just a couple of seasons in the first team. Zouma, Saliba and now Fofana combine for over 70 million pounds.

He's really good.

Saw him in the cup final against PSG where they went down to 10 men and he practically carried them back into the match.

Very much a modern defender who looks more like a midfielder at CB, should be a good partner for Lord farquaad.

He's absolutely rapid as well, would compliment Soyuncu well. He is quite aggressive in style though, so may make a few rash decisions. I'd have preferred he stayed a year.

He’ll be ready for you in about three years. Please mske the cheque out for 120 million. (Inflation and all that).

Just wanted to say that he looks like the real deal. Very impressive against us. Did not put a foot wrong.

I wasn't sure if it was him or Justin, but it was him.

Looks decent, but like every CB who isn’t playing for one of the very biggest sides, he gets his mistakes glossed over — because, who really cares about a Leicester defender like that?

Similar sort of energy to fellow Leicester defender Soyuncu last season, where so many were desperate for him to be better than Maguire (he isn’t and wasn’t).

Yep, he actually quite regularly tries some dumb passes out of defence and is extremely rash in his decision making. He'll get a red before the end of the season, I have no doubt.

Point is there are lot of decent defenders in PL right now. Dunk, Soyuncu, Mings, Vestergard, Coady etc. They would all be decent options for us but wouldn't take us to next level.

Think Vestergaard would

Soyuncu is a very talented CB who is fast and mobile. He has been injured this season with an abducter tear but is ready to play right now. He is better on the ball than Maguire & way more mobile.
Fofana is very much a modern day CB who presses forward & gets caught every so often. Just turned 20 & has a fantastic upside. To play for Manchester the player needs to be the finished article & neither player is just yet but both will be better than Maguire when they mature.
If Maguire was 80 then both of these lads are 120 plus.

Fofana is a good prospect. If he can improve his concentration and keep improving overall he’ll be a good player.

Soyuncu, however is a bit crap. I never got “it” with him. He has that David Luiz affliction of being a flashy centre back, which is the opposite of what you want.

Soyuncu is a great CB whenever he hasn't his brain farts. Proper Turk who is pissed easily and gets easily booked. THE more I see of him, the more I believe that somewhere down his ancestry sits down one of the Slavs from Balkan. That would easily explain his main problem.

Soyuncu is great, he’s a real talent and he’s been really unlucky with injuries this season. I think he’s got a good chance of going to the top.

I’d need to see more of Fofana before I have an opinion on him.

Soyuncu has done well no doubting that and been a good replacement for Maguire for Leicester....but he is just a proper centre back, decent pace, strong and brave...nothing wrong with that, is what you need in a centre back but think a bit over hyped.

As for Fofana, only his first season, a smattering of games so really cant get overhyped about him. Seen some real positives and some mistakes as well. Have to say overall been very impressed with how he has adapated to the premiership so quickly from a foreign league at a very young age. He looks to have a lot of ability to become a top centre back too, so be interesting to see how he develops but I cant think of any other young centre backs in the league look as promisign as him, lets be honest its the one area in the premiership that has been collectively and individually terrible this season performance wise and there doesnt seem to be an abundance of talent in that area with most sides either, just like last year, it is where the premiership will fail in Europe again, especially if Liverpool cant ge there big guns back when it allo resumes

I like the look of Fofana. Have a strong feeling he will progress into a very good CB.

He ticks a lot of boxes, seems to have a cool head and confidence at this level.

One to watch.

He is very comfortable with the ball at his feet but has got caught out pushing forward a couple of times. If he keeps on progressing he could be very, very good. Leicester will have a hard time holding on to him.

If there's no outstanding CB's available this summer I say hold out, let this kid have another season at Leicester and then give them another 80m

We should do what Leicester did and take a chance on a young up and coming CB too IMO. Fofana is gonna cost a ridiculous amount from Leicester and I would hope we maybe look in the direction of Loic Bade as a developmental signing who fits the profile if a more established proves to be too costly.

You'll never win anything with defenders who like to defend

Everytime I've seen this kid he has been immense. Well worth keeping an eye on but if he keeps improving 80mil probably ain’t going to be enough to get him.
