Not only that, we don't sell them at correct time and instead we give them new contract. We gave Lingard contract when we should have moved him on. Same for Scott. Same for Jones and Smalling. Need to be ruthless and move them whenever their value is good. That's why DOF is necessary because they can spot who in long term is not good enough

It’s garbage though, it’s negatively impacting propaganda and it’s not welcome anywhere besides a Trump or tin foil hat forum. It’s not fair on people with real life examples like that other poster.

Also, it slips out of being classed as opinion when false stats are used to back it up.
Lets just stick to transfer tweets

And we should sell before his value drops further and further and then before you know it we offering him a new contract for more money and then we are stuck with a 30 year old squad player
James is still 22 though.

Why Liverpool's squaddies go for more money is no mystery and two of the 3 reasons have already been touched upon.

1. Sell academy products after successful loans when their value is high.

We could have sold Hendo for 45-50m to Chelsea this summer. Our fans would riot if we do so. imo we should have sold him purely for financial reasons.
Same for Axel last summer.

2. They are a top 3 club in Europe, United are a top 15 club in Europe right now.

Buying club will think a player who couldn't make Liverpool's first 15 >> player who couldn't make United's first 15.
Nothing we can do except to turn our results around.

3. Wages.

Our wages are actually fine while the players are out on loan. The problem is we bring them back and put them on bumper contracts, see Henderson.
The correct way would be to sell them while their wages are low and their reputation is high.

The issue is our fanbase likes to moan. They will moan if we sell academy players at 21,22 and they will moan when we give them big contracts and they become unsellable.
All good points, but I would also argue that the reason we don't sell our youngsters when their reputation is 'high' is because they actually offer something to the team.

As talented as Wilson and Brewster might be, they're never going to break into that Liverpool first XI anytime soon, it's just too good. Whereas DDG is genuinely under threat from Henderson, and if Axel could stay fit he'd probably displace Lindelof. Heck, he basically had last season before getting injured in the build up to the Liverpool match.

So we hold on to them because letting them go could mean we have to spend money on a squad replacement anyway, and signing players hasn't exactly been Ed's strength. The problem is offering huge wages to players like Lingard and Pereira, at a time when our squad was weak, and renewing Jones's contract when we should have just let it run out and taken that loss.

No man, Ed & Matt Judge know best - let them run the ship to the ground.

Just call it a loan.

From that perspective, it's a good move. Lazio get a player for a season. Pereira gets pitch time. United put their transfer-listed player in the shop window and save a bit on wages.

It's a win-win-win.

If you focus on the cost of the buy-option, you miss the wood for the trees. Pretend the option doesn't exist, because it might as well not.

- New talks between Solskjær and Sancho. Sancho pushes for United transfer / - Sancho pushing for United move.

Says Sancho isn't sick but his absence was due to him trying to push through a move. Also says Dortmund are denying this and that a reliable local paper insists Dortmund won't sell at any price now.

Also says Sancho's people say the deal is 50/50 to happen.

Again, the major Scandinavian outlets don't pull stuff out of their bottoms.

27 million,

Absolutely 0% chance they use that option. I would snap their hand off for 10.
Well, who stops us negotiating the fee? If he is good for them we might agree on €20m or something...

May be the case, but everything this Fredrik geezer has tweeted in the past few months hasn’t materialised in any way.

I don't think so in this case. This guy is enjoying the attention he is getting. I think he is putting stories just for attention now

Dembele on loan might not be the worst option, particularly if it allows us to fill some of the other gaping holes in the squad.
But who plays right wing when Dembele is injured for half the season?

My impression is that Fredrick is tweeting Ole s hopes. Ole may be in contact with Sancho and told him he wants him at United and Sancho may be willing to come. But in the end it s the Glazers that will decide if we pay or not.

What makes me skeptical is that he's not only talking about concrete things, like actual offers and negotiations. He claims to know what the clubs and players are thinking, what they are going to do, what their priorities are etc. I just don't see how it's possible for so many clubs and players, I think he's padding.
Yeah, if he starts reaching far and wide and tries to present as much info as possible, I wouldn't be surprised if he extrapolates some info based on what he finds.
United are looking for a deal closer to £10M for Telles
Ducker mentioned that we're looking for 12 million Pounds. I hope that we aren't looking for even lower and making things more difficult for ourselves.

what a strange idea!!!

Surely the logic would be to sell De Gea for a similar amount and allow Henderson to grow in to the number 1 spot.

Selling a younger, equally able keeper would be eye-wateringly stupid, IMO.

It appears we’re going to have the best of both worlds this season with an amazing no.1 and no.2.

Our issue will be moving on Romero on his wages

We were saying the same about Jones, 6 years ago. In the meantime, we have wasted millions on wages for him to lie on the treatment table.
Ahhh yes lets just write off any youngster that we buy because they may end up on the treatment table.

Let's not take the risk lads! Let's buy a ready made superstar at 28.

Oh wait that's too old! Near retirement age, how stupid of me....and at 28 he may also damped the development of our academy products!

What about a 24 year old on the cusp of great things.....ah he'll damage the hopes of our academy products.....shite, can't do that either.

What about a youngster again? Too inexperienced?

Ahh crap. Must be in limbo lads....looks like the cheque book is staying in the safe once more this year guys! Sorry!

Unless those addons are a packet of crisps and a Smalling-signed Roma shirt, i’d think we bite this time.
I can see something like 2m after 30 apps, 2m more after next 30... maybe i’m dreaming

I've already seen the timeline where we do not accept Roma's bid. Smalling stays, Bailly and Tuanzebe get hurt (shocker) and Smalling has some good performances in cup games. new 3-4 year deal. It does not turn out well.

that wouldnt be any worse than what we have now.

smalling remains a better defender than Bailly and Lindelof, for various reasons.

I don’t think Smalling would sign a new contract anyway. He’s more likely to take the money and run

He's a decent forward who doesn't get much of a look in Leverkusen because he doesn't fit with Bosz. He'll look much better with Union Berlin and cause several teams problems. I'll be keeping an eye out for him whilst watching the Bundesliga.
Don't take this the wrong way mate but how much football do you watch because you seem to have an opinion on almost every transfer rumour.
