This fixture last season, Rashford was on fire .. Hopefully we will do the same this time too
NopeWill Bale be fit for this one?
We have played five games. No excuses.Tonight is another game whereby Spurs are showing their match sharpness. Sunday without doubt a very difficult game for a rusty United team.
It's a fact more than excuses that United had no proper pre season and are playing catch up on fitness and match sharpness. We have played five games. No excuses.
Excluding Europa League they’ve won 1 out of their first 4 domestic games in 90 minutes. They're in form right now, this will be tough for us. Let's hope they're a bit tired after playing 4 games in a week!
You're right. It should be and probably will be, especially since I don't expect Son to be available. Our best starting XI has last played a full match on Saturday....since then Tottenham's fixture list
Sunday: Newcastle
Tuesday: Chelsea
Right now: Haifa
That should be a massive advantage.
That’s just asking to be under siege. If we want to take the next step this isn’t how you set upWouldn’t be surprised if we went 3 at the back
De Gea
Bailly - Maguire - Lindelof
AWB - Matic - Pogba - Shaw
Bruno
Martial - Rashford
What do you think Spurs midfield will be?You're right. It should be and probably will be, especially since I don't expect Son to be available.
However, Kane is looking sharp, Ndombele is starting to show why we signed him, Hojberg is starting to settle in now and Reguillon had overall a good game for us in his first match. Even Alli showed great skills to win - and then score from - a pen tonight.
So I'm not all that pessimistic about us getting a result.
Its what I think Ole will do not what I’d do. Let’s Maguire pick up Kane and the other two deal with Spurs wide forwards. That’s just asking to be under siege. If we want to take the next step this isn’t how you set up
I'd guess yes. What do you think Spurs midfield will be?
Ndombele, Hojberg and Lo Celso?
You obviously didn't watch last year's home game vs them then. We'll be on the front foot playing to our strengths. Its what I think Ole will do not what I’d do. Let’s Maguire pick up Kane and the other two deal with Spurs wide forwards.
Why not. I think everyone realises we are trying to get him back up to speed after his injury issues, and then Covid. Pogba could be a good option to come on in the last 20 mins.I would love to see us try Donny instead of Pogba. We won't but I'd love to see it.
It was for someone else. Kane was not red carded. The Telegraph match report mentions it too. Was it rescinded, or was it meant for someone else?
Enough with the fecking ‘Hendo.’Anyone reckon Hendo will start?
Not keen on the idea then?I got it. He's crap, expensive and a douchebag. We're trying to get rid of Lingard, not bring a new version.
Not really an accurate reflection of their form, their worst game was vs Everton who appear to be the form team in the comp atm along with Pool. The Newcastle game was one way traffic, the first Newcastle shot at goal came from the dubious handball decision in the 96th minute. And they put five past Southampton.Excluding Europa League they’ve won 1 out of their first 4 domestic games in 90 minutes.
Because losing at home to Palace wasn't a real test.I'd potentially look at playing 3 at the back in this game just to make the defence look more solid. Then again I'd also like to see a 4 man midfield with Matic/Pogba/Bruno & VDB all starting. But how do you drop the front 3?
Ole's first real test
It’s a joke mate Don’t you see the ‘first real test’ in every match thread? It’s just taking the piss out of ourselves and rival fans who said every game after a win was Ole’s first real test when he took over as caretaker in 2019, implying the previous ones were easy.Because losing at home to Palace wasn't a real test.
Lovely. For what its worth I'm quite confident - If Son doesnt make it that will be a blow but I still think we should have enough to win.
