An unreasonable price. Even 100 million is generous and they are rejecting 110 million. Shows you that Haaland was right to have a buy out clause so a club can buy him without negotiating with Dortmund.
They don’t need the money, so the player is “worth” whatever they say he is.

How are they being unreasonable? They set a price and they've stuck to it.
Young players go to them for two reason - lots of minutes in a good system team, and that they will sell them for a reasonable price.

Haaland is not going to be there past 2022. We know it, BvB knows it, and every big club in Europe does as well.

The fact that no one has been prepared to pay that price makes it unreasonable by definition. A players value is what another club are prepared to pay. If that was their goal (ie price everyone out of the deal), you can't fault them for a successful strategy, but if their intent was to sell, then their refusal to negotiate has been unreasonable.

Which is not to excuse United's ridiculous approach to the negotiations by any stretch.

Good to see Bundesliga Reputation Protection Alliance are actively surveying this thread to catch rogue insulters.
Yeah refreshing to see a Schalke fan being so smug to see their big rivals keep a top player. Shows how irrelevant their club and rivalry is.

buddy I dont give a feck about the reputation of the Bundesliga
I just found that analogy hilariously cringe because even if Dortmund likes getting it in the arse, Man Utd certainly isnt the one to be able to satisfy them in that regard as its obviously all floppy down there

But was their intent to sell? I read that of course they listen to an offer that matches their valuation (and what player doesn't have a price?) I've always got the impression that they'd be very happy to retain Sancho.

we can have all the debates in 48 hours time. Let's see what happens.

How do you know we haven’t paid? We obviously have an offer lodged.

In a game of chicken you wait until the pressure makes the other party blink and accept your offer.

many of us have said this for weeks, that it will happen late, perhaps even the last day. We might be wrong, but we won’t know that until the window is over.
Yeah but it looks pretty unlikely given we are what, 48 hours, away from the close of the window and Dortmund are still saying he's staying and the media still have nothing to report.

So we've botched the window from what I can see. And I don't see any reason to feel otherwise until I see any contrary evidence (for which there's barely any time left).

Looking at the news where some lower league clubs don't think they will make it past November without fans, I think holding fire on this transfer is a good idea. When clubs all over Europe start going bust, that's when to really buy expensive players. Let's wait for January.

don't blame me because you can't remember past one season.

We might as well get used to wasting Greenwood on the RW because this transfer is dead.
Ah yes, his seasons under an uninspiring dinosaur who didnt fancy Rashford or Martial and made them rotate as basically left wiingbacks. How about look at Martial's record during his only 2 full seasons at the club having not been managed by that man - you'll see a top player.

And yes this transfer is dead. RW will mainly be Greenwood's, I think Rashford can come in at RW and Martial LW for when Cavani is upfront. Pretty bleak overall.

You need to disappear back down the hole you crawled out of, sunshine. Understand this, we've all had the absolute pleasure of watching many great players win every trophy there is for us. Better players then Sancho. So, when you can say the same, then come back and try again. Because, supporting Schalke, every day is SanchOFF day. You're shite and you've never even had a whiff of signing a top class player. Little gobshite.

That goes for the Dortmund plebs too. It's absolutely ridiculous to think fans of second rate clubs think they can come and try to troll on here right now.

OK, so when a club approaches Pogba or Bruno we should let them go for 60 or 70m to not be unreasonable? Or does this only apply to a club we are buying from? Just trying to see through this ridiculous logic of some here.

Unfortunately there really doesn't seem like enough time to finalize such a huge deal. Only 2 days to go. Anyway, let's see what will happen.

Dortmund's business model is to buy young players, develop and sell them. Sancho didn't join them to win things, he joined them to develop and be sold to a club of his liking. Unfortunately he wasn't smart like Haaland to insist on a buyout clause. Young players will now see the Sancho saga and either insist on a buy out clause or not join them in the first place.

Manchester United are not a selling club so yes different logic applies to us.

so for the remaining muppets, is your cut off point today? Or are you going all the way to the last deadline minute? Surely there's a point before deadline hour that even the most hardcore muppet will have to concede that this is dead?

Just because you think that, doesn't actually mean it's how their board are thinking. It's just your assumption, that is all.

What’s the Dortmund board thinking then, oh wise sage? It goes without saying that pretty much everything stated here is opinion. Let’s not forget that.

The Jan window makes so much sense.. The earliest he could play would be mid Oct.. Jan is just 2.5 months away..

Dortmund will be fecked financially.. they'll probably sell him for 20m just to save on his wages..

We have them where we want them.. Woody has played a blinder here.

Haaland will go wherever Raiola tells him to go.
Contrary to popular belief, riaola isn't a magician nor does he blackmail or hypnotize his clients. They go to clubs they want to go, he just gets them and himself the best possible money for going there.

Good chance madrid will be looking for a striker next season, if you were haaland where would you go? A club that competes for titles every year or the one who can't finish in top 4 every year.

 Maybe you went a wee bit too far but I agree with your general points. Dortmund and Schalke fans signing up to troll in unison about not a match, but a transfer! Like, this Schalke guy has 30-40 posts, so is only here to troll. Adds nothing to RedCafe. And Dortmund and Schalke fans uniting to troll a club they have no affiliation or rivalry with, what’s that about? Tinpot rivalry, but that’s quite obvious.

Adding on another thing to the Schalke guy, you’ve lost your first three games with a -15 GD, and you have financial problems. It’s alright though, once you go down and go bust, you can always switch to Dortmund!

No one knows what BVB board is thinking because we aren't them and don't have inside info so just assuming they are selling club and their strategy is to buy and sell players is just a claim and an assumption, to go on and blame them on asking that much for a player because you assume they buy to sell later is pretty weird overall.

Needless to say they did the same with the Dembele transfer to Barca and the player only left because he forced a move and even then, it costed Barca 100+40m. I don't see as an intention of a selling club if you ask me. More like they want to keep their players now more than before but again, no one knows what they think of about the team so blaming them for asking this much for a player they have is ridiculous.

The release clause of Haland deal was also something that was going to be put in his contract if he had signed for United and it was the reason we refused to sign him so he Raiola didn't do that specifically for BVB.

I can't believe we have less than 48 hours of this saga left. I feel now, how I felt when watching the last episode of GOT! Ed, please, just do not make me feel how I did after watching the last episode of the show!
