Thank fecking christ this will all be finished one way or another tomorrow.

Muppet tears of joy or more likely despair on their way.
1st January the transfer window is back open
So less than 90 days... basically if its not done today / tomorrow (which seems the most likley outcome as of now) then after a week or two of moaning about it the muppets will just start pinning hope on a January transfer... sadly its probably not going away for the best part of a year

Thing is, this thread has gained a reputation here in Germany. It's like a parallel world in which other laws of nature apply. People are in awe that United fans still think it's on because the rumor is so dead over here since weeks. Some news papers are actually making fun of their English colleagues who still think this could happen. Never seen this before. There are fans in German forums telling you that you shouldn't miss out on the Sancho thread on RedCafe.net if you want to experience the delusion first hand and have a quick laugh. The reactions range from shaking your head and bewildered laughter to anger because of the arrogance displayed. Guess there are probably many silent readers right now, so naturally a few of them register and participate.

This is probably the strangest and most confusing transfer saga I've seen. Still scratching my head how so different media perceptions in both countries came to be. I guess it really has to do with both clubs not speaking with each other directly, so that the sources of all those ITKs fed them completely different information.
But how pathetic does one have to be to login to a new forum (of which their club has no affiliation with) to post stuff saying it’s not going to happen or outright troll here. What’s even more sad is fans of other clubs than Dortmund also post the same shit. Does denying delusions as you say in a random forum make you guys feel like you have one upped United or something ?

On the other side

Happy Cavani Day
Hope the guy does well and I will be fully behind him but I won't hide the fact I think this is a panic move which will probably backfire yet again. Its what this club does best these days. Mess things up.

Cavani Telles Donny certainly adds more depth to the squad but if we are being truly honest it's not the summer we hoped for.

Do we know if it was Dortmund who asked for 'middle men' to handle the deal? Maybe they knew then they couldnt be arsed dealing with the club direct. And they would be proven right
Yes it was reported as such, and ironically it was reported that we were not amused at that insistence

BVB aint even accepting 120 in full now mate. The only hope is dembele 2.0 and Sancho is not going to do that.
Even if he does that, it's far too late now.

Does @Zehner not realise what’s happened with previous Dortmund players? Dortmund claimed they weren’t leaving either and they did.

Also, just as you claim Germans are laughing at the United fans, we are laughing at you coming here everyday spouting your defensive blubber.

Clearly some weird form of inferiority complex. Imagine us going to some random German clubs forum and posting shit like this if one of Chelsea’s player was going to Bayern

Burn this thread to the ground. It’s going to be banter for other clubs supporters come Tuesday, probably already is tbh.

Were in the final stretch now.

If the €95M + €15M is true, and theres no news of a rejection, then i'd say thats pretty positive. Maybe theres a few fine things to work out, or how they're going to structure the 95m...

One can dream. Just hoping we get it over the line!

Hello German fans, you can shake your heads as much as you want but it's all about money. If your club were offered £150m, I expect Zorc would do a rapid U-turn and take the money. It's not about setting arbitrary deadlines or someone's pride in keeping their word. It's about the money. So hold on tight. Because if your club is offered around £100m or more, Zorc may wobble. And then, if you like, you can shake your collective heads and console yourselves by saying how silly we are for offering that sum of money for a player and that he doesn't really bleed yellow from his veins anyway. But to say that United fans are deluded because it won't happen whatever the circumstances... that's just delusional. Enjoy the next 24 hours.

Red Card for Casemiro!
There are transfers in footballing history upon which the fortunes of a club pivot massively, and you just know it in that moment because that signing works on multiple levels. Like when United signed Cantona, or Real signed Ronaldo, or Liverpool with Van Dijk, or PSG with Neymar, or City with a manager like Pep.

You just know that this Sancho transfer would be a watershed moment for United, kickstarting the best years since SAF. Everything about this transfer falls in place:
- World-class talent kicking up insane numbers
- Young, hungry and has the attitude that Ole is looking for
- Is an England national and is good mates with many United players
- Fills in the RW hole that has been vandalised by our recruitment since Ronaldo left
- His playstyle complements the slick, link-up based attacking football United have been playing under Ole
- United have a clear run at him in a window where no other club need him enough or if they do, can't afford him
- Is mates with another extremely exciting transfer prospect in Haaland - the Ole/Sancho connection might turn things in our favour in 2022
- We are the most exciting outfit we've been since SAF, just off a tremendous second half of a season looking unplayable at times
- We have just qualified for CL, which we haven't been able to do consistently enough to attract players like Sancho. We have no idea where we'll finish next season as of now.
- Liverpool have just won the league after 3 decades, and we have to choose if we're going to respond to that or if we are content with fighting it out for top four
- Chelsea have arguably had their best summer of the Abramovich era, and City will be getting Messi next summer by the looks of it - we need to show our ambitions

These are just off the top of my head. Point is, signing (or not signing) Sancho this summer will decide if our best season since SAF left is the start of something exciting again, or if it was the moment where we just fell off the races while yet another club overtakes us for good. I genuinely believed this would be wrapped up by early August - not making it happen this summer will be the club management's greatest failure since SAF, and possibly one with long-lasting consequences.

My strong take is that Woodward/Judge should be fired purely on the basis of this transfer happening/not happening.
All these years of Woody and I never learned. Tch tch.

The reason we are late with the offer is taking inflation into account.

£108m on 4 October is approximately worth £107.9m in August 2020 terms.

Making money even when we spend money. Ed Woodward you genius.
Bet he's got it sitting in a high interest account at the building society.

Yeah I’m hoping Ed and the club go all out last minute. Hope they realise it’s worth it in the long run.

Totally agree, that would be nowhere near what I hoped for from this window, and more importantly nowhere near what we as fans of this club should expect.

Im still reserving judgement until the window has ended but if Ed and the club finish with a whimper like they seem to be I will be feckin bouncing with rage.

It Screams inferiority complex, that’s all it is, league envy.

They are quite incestuous regarding their league and the clubs within it, for example they would prefer their biggest and only rivals Bayern get all their players and win the CL whereas we couldn’t think of anything worse than having to be the feeder-bitch of our biggest rivals.

Feck me I would stop watching football altogether before I did that for the likes of Liverpool or City.

You need to disappear back down the hole you crawled out of, sunshine. Understand this, we've all had the absolute pleasure of watching many great players win every trophy there is for us. Better players then Sancho. So, when you can say the same, then come back and try again. Because, supporting Schalke, every day is SanchOFF day. You're shite and you've never even had a whiff of signing a top class player. Little gobshite.

That goes for the Dortmund plebs too. It's absolutely ridiculous to think fans of second rate clubs think they can come and try to troll on here right now.
Grow up, you're not 7. Christ yore so unnecessarily defensive. He supports Shalke, so fecking what? No need to give a cnut post in return.

But who really does that? Was there even one troll who signed up to the caf to post in this thread? People are so desperate about Sancho they rather create this cringy conspiracy about every German poster somehow colluding against them, because apparently that's easier than to argue with or even just ignore constructive posts that go against the twitter clickbait frenzy.

This thread is tedious enough without this off topic bickering. Let's stick to transfer related discussion lads

basically, we thought we could bully Dortmund, now we have egg on our face. They gave us their price, we tried to feck them over, they told us to meet the price or feck off. Now we’ve given them no time to sign a replacement. I don’t blame them here. The blame falls solely on our recruitment team
Deadline is 5 October.
It’s been over since we ignored their deadline. We arrogantly thought they were bluffing, they weren’t, they set the deadline to give them plenty of time to find a replacement.
Are you a Dortmund fan by any chance?

Purely to strengthen our hand. Means that we could go to Dortmund and say the player wants to leave, therefore easier to negotiate a fair price.

But woodward forgets that you still need to respect the position of the selling club and they thought they were being mugged off.
It does not strengthen your hand to go through weeks of dealings with the player and his agent without at the same time knowing that the club are willing to release the player. It is a total and utter waste of time and makes the club, not for the first time, look amateurish.

You're missing the point here.

This is not about inferiority complex or anything like that imho. From my own experience (living in Germany for quite some time), Germans just generally don't like anything "irrational".

To them seeing people here still being adamant that this Sancho transfer will happen, while all evidence speaks against it, is just delusional and they hate people being so irrational. It just annoys them, even when they don't have anything to do with it.

I'm calling it, it's not happening. We know the twats in charge can't deal with more than one transfer at once. Forget it.

Should stop watching Manchester United games , a way of protest. It would be agonizing to see most games this season. Remember when we were booed during SAF time and he went to purchase 100m and won everything! Even with Sancho in we have Victor lindelof, Shaw and Wan Bisaka as defender in first team with no Number 9, Cdm. This team is done for next 4 transfer window!

That’s what I don’t get. I remember De Gea circus during 2015 season transfer window, not once did I think of going to Real Madrid forum and pissing at them for it. And I am a United fan. That’s just not how healthy well-adjusted humans behave.

Glazer's and Woodward really pathetic at this stage. They happily let the rumour mill run all transfer window that we are going for Sancho, then make a low ball offer with a few days to go, knowing it will be declined. I'm sure they are delighted to avoid paying 100 million, sign Cavani for free to keep us quite and sack Ole at the end of season blaming him for lack of progress.
If they are prepared to go for Sancho now why didnt they do the business months ago....clowns
