What are Bayern doing? Embarrassing! Circus!
Yesterday I thought one of their surprise signings was going to be Lemar, now it's Chupo Moting. What a downgrade of expectations

Watch him score 10+ goals this season though.

Bayern went from Thiago, Perisic and Coutinho to inexperienced Roca, inconsistent Sane and freaking Chopou-Moting? Mmmmmm. Liverpool PL+CL double incoming.
I think Choupo Moting fills the space of both backup striker and left winger. Though he isn't nearly as good as a LW as a striker (not that he's a great striker)

Sane and Roca will be fine, at least for the league and future. CL is a different beast and difficult to win it again anyway.

Bayern have a track record of not being utter clowns. They have also already added Sane to an attack which won the treble last year so not really the same is it? Context actually matters. You are right though - odd signing.
As a back up for Lewa you'll get to start in about 3 games, with the rest of your appearances being 10min sub-ins. So you'll need someone who a) doesn't have a problem with that kind of station and b) still can make an impact in those few minutes.
At PSG he showed both these traits. On top he's German, knows quite a few of our players, is known for being a great person to have in the locker room, doesn't cost a fee, and won't call for big wages.
I call this a good signing.

As for Roca, he's an absolute steal for 15m €.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.

Roca is a good signing. Would you be happy if your club were adding Cavani if you had our attacking options? Or is the meltdown completely unfounded. Interesting to get other fans perspectives on our dealings.

I have no idea in what shape Cavani is. But the guy knows where the goal stands, that's for sure. If he's still on the level physically, I'm sure he'll be good for you. He's a bully by nature, so I think PL football will suit him just fine.

United to strengthen the defence......

By increasing security for Woodward. They anticipate a shizzstorm coming his way. You can't make this up. Clear hint we ain't signing anyone after Cavani.

That’s the big question. He hasn’t played for 7 months and his national coach has said he obviously isn’t the same physical warrior he was at 31. Hopefully he can adapt though.

Maybe we can ask the Manchester police if they know anything? Woodward might've told them that we aint buying no more players and that he could use some help...

Thats for 1 year, not 2.
My bad, cheers Actually didthe correct calculation, but ended up writing 10.8 instead of 20.8 :houllier:.
Still think the point stands though.
As some have pointed out, agent fee might be split in some way between agent and player, but imo it should be reported as such in that case. Agents are seen as leeches already, don’t need «help» from exaggerated numbers.

We should’ve tried to swap Pereira for Roca, or just buy him outright. €15m isn’t much nowadays and if he didn’t work out, I would imagine we would be able to sell him back to Spain or to a PL team outside the top 8. He’s better than feckin Romeu.

This is the most likely scenario. If we had more ambitions, we'd have signed Cavani a week ago.
Sorry I replied to the wrong quote. I was trying to reply to a question about announcing a signing on a match day.

Good question and the answer is I'm not sure. I've been at a game before and see a player sign a contract extension. It was Beckham but can't remember who we were playing. Might have been Middlesborough in the last game of the season or something. Beckham didn't play but came onto the pitch and did a short circuit waving at the fans wearing a blue suit and brown shoes (always pushing the fashion boundaries our David!)

On this particular transfer, I'm firmly behind our stance. How can Porto justify asking £22m for a defensive player with 9 months left on contract. Unfortunately our poor planning means there is no alternative and Porto know that as well as Utd so in the end if we want cover for this position we will fork out.

What's the opinion of Ryan Sessegnon on here? Gone on a season loan to Hoffenheim. We were heavily linked with him before he went to Spurs and disappeared.

Same was said after we signed VDB.......

This forum, experts in Uniteds own transfer department than United themselves. Bravo lads Bravo. When are we signing Sancho and Telles then?
We aren’t

We are signing a 33 year old free agent - who was available for months - with one day of the window to go.

And you’re here taking the piss out of me?

I said I don't think so, I was disagreeing that there wouldn't be more signings.

I think we'll get Telles in the next day. As for Sancho, I have no idea.

how often have they reportedly "improved" their offer, and how often have they reportedly bid 15m? Feels like the same thing has been reported dozens of time this summer. No idea if we are being difficult or if Roma are just being cheap. Probably both. Either way, super tiresome "saga".

We haven’t exactly covered ourselves in glory this window; however, I do like the idea that potentially, somewhere, on an AS Roma forum not so far away, there are lots of their fans bemoaning their board and having tantrums over how long this deal has rumbled on. As, by feck, this one has been a drag from start to finish.
