I've made it known that I don't rate him, but we apparently bought him to provide cover/competition for Pogba and Bruno for 40 million and yet still refuse to play him (or sub him on at HT) for a clearly out of form/unfit Pogba.

I thought it was a silly signing to begin with because he doesn't provide what we'd need from a midfielder, but it's even sillier if we're outright not going to use him over an unfit Pogba.

Thought he looked quite decent when he came on. Made an effort to trail attacks into the box and find space, but the final ball.either never came his way or way intercepted before he got it. He's been one of the very few bright sparks this season.and simply must start for us.

I would feel sorry for him if he wasn't on such a big wage. Imagine almost signing for Real Madrid and then moving to this dross.

He must be wondering what’s going on. Don’t play a game or 2 fair enough but to start every fecking match on the bench and to see Fred (who I rate very highly) and McTominay come on come on before you....

Something doesn’t feel right with this.

We all love United
I noticed some of his teammates don’t fancy passing the ball to him. He’s being ignored a few times when he is in space

We were just wasting time by then. Wouldn't think anything about that

He's the next target for abuse. The way we play doesn't suit him and he'll be accused of being invisble and a coward by Christmas. He thrives on finding space and one touch play and would do well with Fernandes and Martial. With Pogba, he'd move into space and watch Pogba dance on the ball before passing it to the opposition.

Pogba starting ahead of him still cracks me up. I can't do much more than laugh at this stage.

Ole deserves to go just for this.

Pogba can get match fit in the cup games and internationals, instead he handicapped us in 3 league games by playing a non-existent Pogba over arguably the most match fit player in the squad.

I think he'll start the next match ahead of Pogba. Ole did right by not throwing him him right away, and hopefully he will be ready to stay in the first XI from next week onwards.

McTominay and Van de Beek should be in the team always now ahead of Matic and Pogba.

Ole must be dreading the 'Pogba is too good for Man Utd' backlash from Raiola and Pogba's brother on twitter next week once Pogba is dropped.

McTom and Fred were brought on to sure it up (LOL) and therefore rest Bruno and Matic to go again next game.

If we're playing 4:2:3:1. Donny could no doubt play anywhere across the three (like Mata used to say), is probably Mata's long-term replacement and can also cover for Bruno.

Personally, if we are continuing with 4:2:3:1 I would drop Rashford for Donny and bring in Fred for Pogba. Not sure what to do about the CB positions but they are not getting any protection with Pogba playing a deep role.

It's the international break next week, they don't need that extra 45 mins of rest.

Started a thread questioning why we bought him. Should have realized of course it was to replace Pogba when his time with us is up. Or as a back-up for Bruno or feck knows I don't know.

I'm very worried for Donny. He's a talented footballer but coming from a well drilled side like Ajax where everyone knew their role in the team to a team so badly organised just doesn't bode well for him.

I feel sorry for him, he must wonder why he joined us. Ludicrous that he's not starting in the league, I've been impressed with what I've seen so far.

I would like to see him getting a run together with Bruno and Fred.
I'll like to see that too,I think Fred-Vds would be like Fred-mcsause but with more purpose in possession due to VDS superior technical quality and intelligence, i feel it's currently our best option, but am not sure Olé has the balls to drop Pogba

The thing with Olé is he has never been great at rotating players or utilising the full strength of his squad, there is a starting 11 he is so loyal too every other player is 'just a squad option',I think he under utilizes Mata,Fred and now VDS....Pogba has been shit in every game so far but he is still likely to start the next one, then how on,just look at how long it took to drop Lindelof

Just a matter of time before people start thinking that he, too, just isn’t a good player once the management have had their way with him, so to speak.

I can't understand why people are saying he should be starting over Pogba. You know every time he played for us he was playing very high up the pitch, almost like second striker? That's also where he contributes with goals/assists.

I doubt he'll be our midfield saviour. He's an AM and is competing against Pogba AND Bruno, which is why I find this transfer bizarre.

The reasoning isn't particularly complicated:

1) He's played in that deeper Pogba role plenty of times before, just not in the few games for us so far.

2) Pogba has been terrible so far so people want someone to replace him.

That's great to hear, although that doesn't implicate he's any good in midfield. I will be happy to be proven wrong, but I don't see him as a midfielder (same as I've been repeating time and time again about Pogba).

Anyway, considering he's played only in attacking positions for us, and is not clicking with the rest of the team yet, I don't think we'll see him starting anywhere on the pitch anytime soon.

Can only imagine what this lad must be thinking. Why the feck have I joined this sinking ship?

Pogba fanboys will hopefully leave this club when the dabber finally goes. Give me a player who doesn't pout on Instagram and runs his socks off like Donny over that overrated dabbing prat any day of the week.
