He was crap apart from the pen.

Subbing him off, if it's not for injury, and giving up on the game was disgrace though.

I'd be worried something happened at half time, he seemed to have a lot to say to Lindelof when we played Sevilla.

Can see zero reasons to take him off given he's our most creative player and it's a crime to concede the result as a United manager at home.

Him and Greenwood seems to be the only ones that had any bottle today.

We bottled it against Spurs, let that sink in.

Once again, a poor performance masked by a penalty to up his stats. His passing percentage is just horrible, really needs to calm down when on the ball and not attempt a killer through ball all the time.

He didn’t have a bad game at all. Created penalty, scored penalty, made a few other passes. Not the worst, didn’t deserve a sub (Pogba did)

Maybe Mourinho was right after all, all he is really good at, is taking penalty...
He wasn't very bad though, just average in everything else, and loss possession alot.

You can say that about 80% of his games here, and that's generous. Now that the new player tag is wearing off, people aren't going to ignore his poor general play as much.

I actually thought he was pretty poor. He gave the ball away loads trying something that was never on. I’m ok with him trying stuff when it is actually possible but today it was like he was just wasting possesion.

Then he also needs to decide or Ole needs decide what he is doing on the pitch. Surely his roll is not to play as a 2nd striker and even if it is surely he needs to see that the midfield is struggiling with him out of position and he should drop back in to try and get a hold of the game.

I though he and Pogba would have been pulled at half time. If he’s had a go at Maguire then rightly so as Maguire was terrible and didn’t seem to do anything to try and get everyone to pull together.

His tendency to go for the impossible is starting to become annoying.

I thought he had an ok game. I mean it is impossible to look good in this kind of game.

Seems like people just go in different threads just to vent their frustration after a bad game which is often nowadays tbf.

He had an ok game. I mean, what else can a number 10 do in this type of game?

I assume he was hauled off at half time to improve the defence and not because he punched Maguire or something.

Although to be honest, Maguire deserved a punch for that performance.

Assume he was injured, makes no sense for him to have come off but Pogba to be left on

Losing to Comeback Winning!
His defending is non existent. Saw Martial running all they way back to try stop a counter for Aurier. Bruno is very sloopy and Pogba is Pogba.
Ah okay fair enough, yeah I can see what you meant.

This time he is poor yes. I don't rate his defensive abilities, it's clear there is so much lacking but if we want a hard working midfield unit, then no doubt he should be in.

The 2nd half with a greater hard working midfielders (McT and Fed) + Pogba are still so bad though.

Normally his defensive work rate and efforts are top notch (ignoring the defensive skills), he tend to work hard covering all ground but yeah not this time. Maybe this shed some light of truths to the "injury rumour" some claimed he is.

I was baffled when he was taken off. No one played well but he was far from the worst.

He had a thigh injury and was a doubt for the game. Was probably playing injured and they decided 4-1 down and 1 man down it was pointless risking him - it was the right move.

I thought Bruno was our best player apart from a few trademark dodgy passes.

I think we need a player to try things as we are not able to otherwise create something.
However, I am not sure that Bruno is really good enough to do it. He really tries but his passing often is not accurate enough and he gets caught too often.
His chemistry with Pogba is just non-existent.

I’ve said my views in the past so won’t go over them again, but I disagree that he was poor today. I think he played well today, a few good passes. The issue in the midfield is the unit, not the individuals, although Pogba at the moment is individually poor too. But on the whole, a central midfield is not the area of the pitch that requires match winners as much as it requires structure and control. Pogba and Fernandes are two players who have the ability to have game changing contributions, but what we need more is a unit that can control a game.

Pogba just does not have it with anyone though.

Playing labor pointless football in the 2nd half even when we're clearly losing are more annoying.
I didn't know we were comparing daft attempts at backheels to losing.

The point being, Bruno's tendency to attempt daft backheels isn't something that's ideal when we're already on the back foot and struggling to build momentum, you want him to hold on to the ball and pick the right moments for the simple pass and the mental pass. Right now he's on the wrong end of that scale

Someone said on Youtube that the reason why he was taken off at half time is because he had a go at Harry Maguire.

Has anyone heard about this?

I actually admire his competitiveness and leadership if it were true.

I saw it too - Mark Goldbridge, right?

I think he may be on to something there.

Shocking for Ole to back Maguire over Bruno if it's true.

Yeah Mark Goldbridge.

I agree with you that backing Maguire over Bruno in this situation was not the right decision.

Him and Mason were the only 2 who weren't completely terrible in the first half.

After the initial explosion into the team he's become gradually less effective. Either he's got a bit of burnout or oppo managers and defenders are targeting him with the press since hes our only real creative passer in the final third. He's definitely struggling now. He's not alone there though. I suspect the players motivation has been affected by the club's negativity in the transfer window to a degree.

He was average. There is no cooperation between midfielders in Matic-Pogba-Bruno setup, so it was always going to be hard to look good. Had his moments, but needs to be more aware whats going on around him.

Weird he was taken off, I thought he was getting better as the game went on.

Don’t see any point in trashing him. He’s our best player easily in my opinion. He’d look miles better with decent midfielders and some players who would use the width of the pitch. He has to spray pretty much everything down the middle and has to operate in really tight spaces most of the time.

Our team is so poorly set up it’s painful. Pretty much all our attackers want the ball at their feet and prefer to cut in and our full backs can’t cross to save their lives. Making us easy to defend.
