Cavani , Telles , and VdB in with Sancho that would have been a pretty decent window with plenty of options . Without him it feels very underwhelming strangely.
That's because out of those 3, possibly only Telles goes into our best XI (although Pogba is trying his best to excuse himself). And that's still not good enough as our first XI is producing stinker after stinker.

I would be surprised if Dortmund doesn't raise the asking fee

I agree. I really do think we need Sancho and a centre back. Even Telles doesn't come straight into the line up

Yeah I don't have expectations of Telles being a huge upgrade over Shaw, particularly as we are suddenly very fragile defensively.

The feck are you lot on about? We’re already aware that it’s Cavani?

Of course we will know more tomorrow night. It's a nothing statement to get excited over.

Heard Ole say this myself, and wondered it was weird that he said an addition, not additions.

You are seriously over-rating Telles. He is back up to Shaw. Shaw is our No.1 LB.

This is what this club needs more than anything. More than big marquee signings, and certainly more than a new manager.

It's bizarre why we haven't got a DOF in, actually I know why, It's Ed. He self appoints himself as the face of United transfers, the money man, billy big boll@x. Disgrace.

When you think about it that's the only logical explanation for us not having a DOF. It makes sense for the owners because it keeps the fans quiet to an extent but also should in theory make their money go further rather than making just marquee signings every other summer.
And Glazers are to blame. Edwin would only come in as a ceo

Telles is miles better

Shaw will probably keep the spot until Telles is settled but long term planning Telles will be first choice

How on earth are people getting from his comments that it's about Sancho. It's not happening, stop getting people's hopes up.

? I said I don't think he will be a huge upgrade over Shaw. We have started to shockingly from a defensive point of view , we may need to have Shaw to help out more rather thaj an attack minded LB. Unless Ole solidifies the midfield and defence

This is not happening. Probably won't even happen next summer, because it's looking increasingly likely that Ole won't survive this season.

Still, a lot of things can change in a year. We'll see.

I don’t think Ole is referring to Sancho. I think he knows it’s not happening. I think it’s more likely he’s referring to Cavani, who hasn’t been officially confirmed yet. I hope I’m wrong, but I just can’t see Sancho joining on the last day of the window.

The fact that we are still 'interested' and are still considering this has to make you feel that Dortmund will sell for the right offer. If we were told categorically he was going nowhere then we would have moved on...

The noises that we are still trying are encouraging IMO.

Yeah there's no way, regardless of just how inept Ed is, that we would still be sucking up this negative press regarding this transfer if we didn't have confidence that they will sell for the right price.

We should know by lunchtime GMT tomorrow if this is coming together or not.

As soon as he says ‘addition’ he very briefly looks to his right. Which, from calculating where he’s sat, is in the general direction of Dortmund.

This is so on
