He makes me nervous, he's so erratic.
Not based on this game. He has is all over the shop and erratic. He hasn't got the quality to play there.Bailly is getting all the blame, only 1 was his fault, and that's as De Gea passing the ball to him in the 6 yard box, Not at fault for first, De Gea was, he never comes out, Maguire for second, he hit it at Bailly who recovered and hit it safely back to him, hes been blamed for not getting to left hand post, when he was on the right, and again, look at De Gea, Bailly tries to run behind him, to block it, but De Gea stands still again. De Gea is the reason for these defence errors for us and this makes the defence look hopeless and panicked...good shot stopping ended 10 years ago as the only goalkeeping assest needed.
You could have typed this with your eyes closed and using just your cock and come out making more sense than this.Bailly is getting all the blame, only 1 was his fault, and that's as De Gea passing the ball to him in the 6 yard box, Not at fault for first, De Gea was, he never comes out, Maguire for second, he hit it at Bailly who recovered and hit it safely back to him, hes been blamed for not getting to left hand post, when he was on the right, and again, look at De Gea, Bailly tries to run behind him, to block it, but De Gea stands still again. I think we saw once again today, he is not the long term solution for us. He is an incredibly frustrating player because he has every attribute you would want in a defender. But his weaknesses have always been his decision making, mentality and positioning.I love Bailly but I’m always so nervous when he plays in a big game. Always feel like there’s going to be that one moment...
Shaw? Not sure where that comes from.Lies, Maguire and Shaw were the worst culprits today.
No chance. Maguire is at fault for 1 goal. Bailly at fault for 3 and Pogba for 2. The only reason anyone can possibly say Maguire was worse was because he wears the armband so higher expectations are on him. But expectations aside, there was no worse player on the pitch than Bailly, followed closely by Pogba and AWBMaguire was worse than everyone present at Old Trafford including Woodward.
Only if you are watching with an agenda against Maguire. he was at fault for the first goal while Bailly was at fault for the next 3...Not even close. Maguire was far worse.
Maguire went after Kane and fouled him. Then went to sleep. He was the one who left his position. Bailly was slow no doubt about that. Bailly was at fault for 3 but that's about it. 4 th was lazy defending by Maguire who didn't stop the cross. No chance. Maguire is at fault for 1 goal. Bailly at fault for 3 and Pogba for 2. If you really think that then maybe this isnt the sport for you. Maguire was the worst player the OT pitch has seen in about 10 years tonight. Bailly was merely as bad as everybody else.Only if you are watching with an agenda against Maguire. he was at fault for the first goal while Bailly was at fault for the next 3...
Not sure you can call people "bailly fans". We all know we need a fast centre back, and given no new incomings, and we saw his speed in recent games, we hoped he was perhaps a solution. Not sure what else one can do!So, maybe the Bailly fans are now seeing he aint the answer? He never was and never will be. Terrible centreback. Sadly, so is the rest of them
I’m presuming you didn’t see Luke Shaw on the pitch then.If you really think that then maybe this isnt the sport for you. Maguire was the worst player the OT pitch has seen in about 10 years tonight. Bailly was merely as bad as everybody else.
Maguire was with his man...Kane. He should have stepped in front and not let Kane take a quick free kick, but Bailly is just standing there as he watches Son go past him on the inside. It wasn't until after the ball was kicked that he finally reacted. That is basic stuff but he doesn't anticipate. He's a defender who is reactionary but often gets away with it because of his speed. But this time he was chasing Son and his speed isn't going to help him there...Maguire went after Kane and fouled him. Then went to sleep. He was the one who left his position. Bailly was slow no doubt about that. Bailly was at fault for 3 but that's about it. 4 th was lazy defending by Maguire who didn't stop the cross.
Just because Goldbridge and everyone else with an agenda against Maguire told you he was the worst doesn't mean he was. And if you don't know why Bailly was at fault for 3 goals, then perhaps this game isn't for you...If you really think that then maybe this isnt the sport for you. How can that awful pass leading to a goal be a confidence and fitness issue? Or sleeping at the quick freekick?Supposedly the last time himself and maguire started together we beat Chelsea at Stamford bridge. It’s a confidence and fitness thing more than anything. The whole team bottled it. Bailly isn’t better than Lindelöf, they are both flawed and good at different things, so is maguire. In reality any of them could be much better beside a really good centre back but none of them are good enough to be the main man at a club of our size. Bailly will end up getting injured soon anyway so we will be seeing lots of Lindelof again either way.
oh no I mean he’s got bad concentration. All the defenders have a pretty major flaw in their game. Bailly is fast, aggressive and a good tackler usually. He’s always prone a brain fart or to do something horrible or get injured. Very disappointing todayHow can that awful pass leading to a goal be a confidence and fitness issue? Today there were some brain farts but most negative is that his speed didn’t really help us at all, because he is poor at reading the game.oh no I mean he’s got bad concentration. Potential. That’s it. Smalling had his chance, over a much longer period of time than either of them. Plus they’re both younger. Looks like none of them will ever be good enough but that’s something that’s only recently being established.Keeping this guy and selling Smalling for peanuts. Makes sense .
Can somebody talk me through what him and Lindelöf offer that Mike doesn’t? I’m all up for defenders who don’t make cock ups or who are good at playing it out from the back, but neither Bailly or Victor can claim that. They’re no better than Smalling at it, clearly worse defenders and much more error prone.
Well quite, but potential implies they have a higher ceiling. Which they just don’t, they’re both just not great. I’m going to avoid hyperbole and call them shit, they’re not shit, but are both objectively less good at actual defending than Smalling.Potential. That’s it. I know what potential implies. And they both had it when Smalling went to Roma. The potential to be a better CB than him. That was why we signed them ffs.Well quite, but potential implies they have a higher ceiling. Which they just don’t, they’re both just not great. I never said he was brilliant. What I said was that Bailly was the worst. of course the pundits are on him. He's a marked man. He wears the arm band and has a 85m price tag hanging over his head. But if you strip that all away and just compare performances then it is clear that Bailly is just not good enough. Maguire was at fault for the first goal. He had a brain fart doing what he normally does very well. Heading the ball. Bailly however was at fault for the next 3 goals as he is too reactionary as opposed to anticipating a play happening. Funny thing is, I can forgive him for the bad pass. That's just a mistake that happens to the best of us (much like Harry's missed header). But I can't forgive poor marking. He just watches Son go for both of his goals. He is not a good defender. He gets away with his poor marking because he can often make up for it with his speed. But this was unacceptable. We need a left footed central defender to play in Harry's position and then Harry can shift to right central defense in place of Lindeloff/Bailly....Agenda
Yeah, ok. Everybody from players to pundits was on his back. Maybe we all see something you dont? Maguire was at fault on the 1st, 2nd and 4th goals, and he wasnt exactly brilliant on the 5th either.
