8 years on still no RW. the RW is just a priority now, we dont address our problems, we will have the same issues year in year out. Unbalanced squad.
Just when you think they've finally learnt from previous mistakes they go and do it all over again. 8 fecking years.

What the actual feck.

If anything, this was an easy deal to close. Dortmund named a price and made it 100% clear that they'd sell if we paid it and won't if we didn't. This deal should have been closed a month back with us either 1. paying the amount or 2. negotiating a middle ground or 3. Moving the feck on if the first 2 weren't happening and actually getting a RW the squad desperately needed. This entire episode is a 101 on how not to do business. Spent months doing feck all briefs on how we know the asking price, won't pay it, still want the player and refuse to believe the seller actually means it when they've named a price.

We're run by imbeciles who are running us to the fecking ground.
It really is madness. We've spent all summer chasing our number 1 and seemingly only real target, knowing that he's for sale, wants to come and the price it would take. And we've been unable to meet those terms and not just that, spent all summer doing so.

While there was space to give Woodward /Judge some benefit of doubt for giving managers after Moyes a lot of backing, this summer seems to have made it clear just how rubbish they are at this. The way we're randomly reaching for targets now at the last minute as with Cavani and Dembele is really strange. Snacks of a lack of planning and general incompetence.

With Sancho, now really it's a question of how other teams react in coming windows. Given we can't meet Dortmund's price the only way we get him is if no competitor bothers to. Because our relationship with Dortmund seems to be awful and were not paying the full fee. So it'll take another window or two of little completion to get this player now.

Why on earth do people think the stubborn buggers Dortmund would sell halfway through the season  not a chance in hell unless Sancho properly downs tools and makes his position at the club very much in doubt.
Oh i don't think they'd sell him in January. No chance.

Our club will still pursue him publicly the whole window though, just like what we saw this window. They'll just play us muppets.

All the people who said we won't sign him once we signed VdB were absolutely spot on. We never had the budget, even less the will, to make it happen.

Yep. It is funny how the club comes out saying they have a plan

Was Telles and Cavani part of the plan? Cavani, a free agent since June?

This is the worst transfer saga of all time. Woodward should resign after this, complete clusterfeck.

Feel for the lad. He refused to play in their last two matches, he's done his bit or perhaps he could have done more but we just never put in a proper bid. Absolute shambles of a saga

Absolute cluster feck of a football club at this moment. A great dare I say generational talent available with no competition for his signature, we build it up all summer and then we fluff our lines and lose out. Absolutely dreadful situation.

Very odd that apparently he was out sick all week missing 2 games and training sessions - but still goes to England to have a party and breach rules?
There musst be something going on in the background. He is clearly agitating for a move and Dortmund are trying to keep the lid on it.

Was blatantly obvious since August 10th came and went with no progress from our side. Not sure why people thought Dortmund weren't serious. They're always a pain in the ass to deal with. They kept Lewandowski til his contract ran out, out of principle. They got 140m for Dembele with a sell on clause only after he threw a strop, skipped training and pushed for a move. Likewise with Aubameyang in the following window. They do leather players go eventually, but its always been entirely on their terms. And the terms were fair. Sort it out before August 10th, so both clubs can plan properly for the upcoming season with or without the world class player involved. Not leaving it to the end. Clubs who leave their transfer business to the last week are most of the time the prime examples of clubs that are poorly run and who didn't plan their transfer windows properly. Unfortunately, late/delayed signings have been a theme for us this past decade.

I was expecting a more dramatic meltdown here to be fair, I suppose our hardcore muppet base are still quietly holding out hope?

So Whitwell says we’re still looking at Dembele while Bouhafsi reckons he’s staying at Barca. Who we thinks right then?
Both are probably right. Whitwell gets sources from the club that we're trying to bring him in. Bouhafsi saying from Barcas side that it isn't happening. Similar to how English sources kept saying Sancho was on when every Dortmund source laughed and said feck off no. We want a loan for Dembele apparently, and Barca want to sell so it isn't happening.

Meh, I'm not so bothered about how we've targeted Sancho, it's the seemingly lack of any progress towards any other signings if we can't get him. We all know 120m was too much for us right now, we tried to get it down and it didn't work. Where is the alternative plan though?

Wasn't it said that he was training by himself? If he wasn't training with the squad and both club and player knew he wouldn't be playing on the Saturday game, he would likely have got permission to head to England for international duty early.

So glad this will be over by tonight, one way or the other.

I don’t know how you all do it every window.

I still believe we are sorting out a deal for Dembele. This will go through the night i reckon. Depay is already on standby to Barca, isn't he?

Covid effect notwithstanding, doesn't that ring alarm bells?
Nobody else appears to be desperately interested in this lad.

I think Jay and Adam are fine, but man Howson is annoying as feck. Rarely seen a guy who loves to listen to his own voice as much as him.
Howson is unbearable however I hate the programme setup as a whole. It's normal for them to go off the tangent with banter or some BS like how Choccy played against this 2nd division side in a cold afternoon back in 1988. People don't give a feck about that.

I'm not even convinced we want to loan him! Its just us making excuses and playing our fans along.

So, it does seem that BvB were absolutely serious in their "pay up or stfu" stance. They did not blink we are in panic mode on the last day of a transfer window. But hey ho, there are tons of championship players to pick from.

Its not over, this will be the same in Jan and in July next year.
That’s a problem for then.

I just want to be able to enjoy the next few months wallowing in self pity and acceptance over the state of our club without the tenuous chance of transfers being dangled in front of me offering faint hope. That’s not too much to ask for is it?

I just think he's like our version of AFTV. Over the top reactions and getting his views and profits from the clubs demise
Goldbridge is what says in the tin. He's passionate, he's over the top and he's not particularly bright (and he acknowledge that). The poor fool keep boasting of his inside information despite constantly feeding him with shit transfer stories like we're signing Bruno last summer and Jadon Sancho this summer.

None of the reports were confirmed that he was training alone.
He was never seen entering the training ground all week. Not one single Photo was taken of him all week long. I am sure there would be some prove if had been at the training ground.
Also his IG has gone very quite since his last game for BD.
All that added to the fact that United proposed the 91 Million bid on Tuesday which was rejected.. I just have that feeling that all this can't be coincidence.

He's bright enough to make a living off less bright supporters.

Of course they were. Not exactly sure what Ed was expecting. They were hardly going to sell a key player, leaving no time to find a replacement.

Or it’s possible we were never really interested and this was just one big PR stunt to placate the fans with fake ambition, all while the club secretly prepare another juicy dividends package for our parasitic goblins early next year.

To be fair it still sounds like we never actually put the bid in.
Yes, but drip fed info to our fans that we'd try to get him until the end of the window

Shambles, its unforgivable the way the club has played us.

Evra said it best yesterday. When you walk into a car dealership it’s not you who decides how much the car is going to cost. It’s unheard of.

It's baffling, I don't think I'll ever truly make sense of our approach to this deal. I'm not angry, I'm just unsurprisingly disappointed in this club.

Still it ain't over till it's over!

I bet we get stories of just how inept we are in the coming weeks.
